"I am Axel Everheart."

I did not remember anyone who goes by the name of Axel Everheart.

He sounds and looked familiar to me as if I'm having deja vu yet I did not know who he was.

"What's your purpose?"

I asked him while I was still lying on the floor.

"Sigh, It seems like 'it had worked. You have forgotten about me. We were so close back then yet you have forgotten."

Axel sighed while feeling dejected that I did not know who he was. I don't remember who he was even if I force my brain just to retrieve the memory about it.

Every memory that I had after I was sold to the organization that had kidnapped me was non-existent as if nothing happened.

"Why are you giving up now? After all, I had done for you, you are still the pathetic Alex I had known."

"My body is too tired to get up."

"That's it? I'll take over then!"

Axel walked towards me and disappeared in an instant.

I suddenly got up from the floor and lied on the bed but I did not control my body.

It seems that Axel was the one who controlled my body. How did he even do that?

Axel suddenly appeared in the air while floating. He looked down on me, literally.

"You must be wondering how I controlled your bodily movements?"

How did he even know about it?

"You must also be shocked on why I knew what you have thought about."

It seems that this Axel guy can read my memories.

"I can even completely erase your memories if you permitted me to do so."

He can indeed read my memory. Wait, did he said something about erasing memories?

"Are you the reason why I did not remember what happened after I was sold to the organization that had used me as a guinea pig?"

"I am indeed the reason why you did not remember anything after you became a guinea pig. It's not because I do not want you to know about it rather it was a memory that you must not remember or else your mentality will drastically change."

So I suffered so much back then that I was on the verge of losing my sanity?

"I'll start from the very beginning. Are you okay with that, Alex?"

"I have nothing to do to pass time so I'm okay with it."

Axel scratched his head and remained silent. He must be thinking about the memories from my past that he would tell to me.

"Where should I start..."

Axel kept on thinking until he started telling me about my past.

"After your parents sold you to a slave trader, an organization who was infamous for using humans as test subjects, bought you and other children from the slave trader."

"You and the other children were brought to this place, the underground laboratory of the organization. I do not know what was the ulterior motives of the organization aside from using you as their tools if the experiment succeeded and I knew after the experiment succeeded what the name of the organization was."

"It was Beyond Human Capabilities Research Center also known as BHCRC for short. They were an approved research center by the government. Even if a person filed a lawsuit against the BHCRC Organization and unless that person is influential and has many connections, it won't do anything and it will be a useless attempt."

"How many children were used in the experiment including me?", I asked Axel.

"There were 1000 children who were used in the experiment and only 9 of them survived including you. The 9 children who survived were subject 111, 222, 333, 444, 555, 777, 888, 999, and subject 666 which is you."

"What did the BHCRC organization do to the 1000 children?", I asked Axel.

Axel went silent for a while after I had asked him that question. Maybe he was thinking whether he should tell me about it or not.

"All 1000 children were tortured every day until only 100 of them remained and none of them were spared. The remaining 100 were tortured again but much more worst than the previous torture until only 25 of the 100 children were still sane.", Axel spoke while showing an expression of grim and disgust.

"What happened to the remaining 25 children?", I asked Axel.

"The BHCRC organization had evaluated that the remaining 25 children were eligible for the brain modification through surgery. The 25 children including you had gone through brain surgery to increase the IQ to genius level."

"Unfortunately, only 9 of the 25 children were considered to be successful while 11 of them died since the surgery failed and 5 were disposed of since the surgery only increased their IQ to gifted level."

The BHCRC organization was cruel to even dispose of the 5 children who had survived the surgery but was considered by them as a 'defect'.

Wasn't it a waste to dispose of 5 children who had gifted-level intelligence?

If I remember correctly, someone who had gifted level intelligence could get an average of 95 and above and it was considered outstanding compared to a normal person.

Was the one who spearheaded the experiment was suffering from Obsessive Compulsive Disorder which made him a perfectionist to only allow the children who had genius-level intelligence to live?

"Calling the head of the scientists who participated in the experiment that you were in is an understatement. He should be called a madman! No sane person would torture a thousand children just for their own goals!"

Axel was shouting in fury as he remembered the head of the scientists which was the person who was the reason why I had suffered.

I was not that angry with the person who made me suffered since I did not remember who he was and how I was tortured so I did not bore any hatred against this organization.

To be exact, I considered myself lucky since I was one of the children who had succeeded in the experiment and had someone such as Axel to removed the memories of my suffering.

"Oh, I forgot to ask you this question, Axel. What are you and how were you able to communicate with me?"

"I am a..."
