"I am an alter ego. To be specific, I am your alter ego. I am your second self with a different personality than you have. I am not only able to communicate with you, but I can also control your body but only temporarily since I'm not the real owner of your body."

Axel stated as he tried to take control of my hand and it moved on its own without me even controlling it.

"If you can do that then why did you not used my body for your desire such as squandering my wealth for experiencing luxury or doing 'it' with Aerin."

I asked Axel with curiosity. He could have done that and I would not be able to do a thing since he can hurt and control my body while I cannot do it against him.

"Aerin is indeed an excellent and beautiful girl with a kind personality and she would do 'it' if you had asked her to do so and she suits my taste since we think alike. But, I decided not to."

Why did he not took the opportunity and as I had remembered, an alter ego was a different self of a person and it was the cause of dissociative identity disorder.

If Axel would have wished to do something using my body, he would be able to commit a crime or other activities under the guise of Alex.

Did he have a greater ulterior motive?

"Don't think about it too much. If I had an ulterior motive, I would be able to do it since I can control your body but I decided not to. It's not that I don't want to but I honestly thought that you deserve to spend several years of freedom after you got out of the BHCRC organization."

"It would have been hell for you if I did not remove the memories of your suffering and if I had also done something against your will. Moreover, I needed some time to recover from the backslash of erasing your memories from your mind and absorbing it instead."

"Why are you doing all of this to me? I don't deserve your kindness and an alter ego such as yourself can only be found in a one-in-a-million probability. Shouldn't an alter ego develop thoughts such as taking control of my body?", I asked Axel while showing a hint of doubt and mixed feelings swelled up inside me.

After all, it would have been too good to be true if he did all of that out of kindness.

" I know you have forgotten but I always told you before that I think of you and treat you as my brother. As I had said to you after some time passed by that I will remove all of your memories, hatred, anger, and resentment and I will free you from your suffering.

"I let you kept all of your happy memories even if I had to be the one who will suffer instead of you, Alex. After all, I love you."

As Axel said that, the room then became silent as what he told me echoed in my ears.

"Dude, I'm not gay.", I sincerely retorted and showed my most serious expression.

Even if Axel was one of the most handsome guys I had ever seen, well except for myself, I would never turn gay for him since I am straight as heck.

"Neither do I.", Axel answered while showing a 'you got the wrong idea' expression which was shown on his face.

After Axel said that, the room then once again became silent.

"I treat you and love you as my family and I don't swing that way.", Axel added.

"I'm glad to hear that or it would have been awkward if you were gay."

As I said that, both Axel and I let out a light-hearted laugh as we exchange glances towards each other.

"Putting the jokes aside, I had finally achieved the other goal that I had in mind."

"What was it?"

I asked Axel as I remembered that his first goal was to remove my memories and free myself from suffering.

"I had told you this before but I also removed this from your memory. I asked you a favor after I removed your memories."

"What favor did you ask?"

"I asked you to intake soulerium at least once a week and improve your control over your soul energy. Remembered how you were able to control soul energy in just several minutes after you had obtained it? I helped you control it so that's why you were very proficient in manipulating it."

"What was your purpose of making me intake soulerium and improve the quality, quantity, and my control over soul energy? Wait, don't tell me that you are aft-"

Just as I was about to continue stating my speculation, Axel interrupted me.

"Yes, what I'm after is to create my soul using the soul energy that you had absorbed from soulerium. It wasn't impossible since I was able to create a soul clone using a tremendous amount of soul energy but it took me a lot of time."

"Finally, I was able to create my soul. I spoke to you today for the sole purpose of giving my thanks since you unconsciously let me create my soul. After that, I will ascend to the afterlife since your body would not be able to house 2 souls at the same time."

"So we would not be able to meet each other again?", I asked Axel.

"Yes, but I'm not in a hurry to leave and I will only leave until either my time is up for staying in your body or you are out of this hell hole."

Axel asserted while he showed his soul energy and created a soul clone that looked exactly like him.

"I am now able to split my soul due to the accumulation of soul energy that I had stockpiled while I was dormant."

"So, rest assured that I'm still able to communicate with you for a while so that you will not be bored."

Axel and I continued our idle chat and the topic of our conversation ranged from my past and his experience when he dealt with my past self and also anime.

Just as we were having a good time together, a loud crashing sound was heard and it was produced by the eternium door that was forcefully opened.

"Time is up, what's your decision?"
