The Legendary Ruler

Chapter 22 - THE WARSCAPE GAME

Henry was on top of a beautiful and ferocious black horse as he watched with interest the forest below the cliff where he stood. Behind him, two people stood respectfully, without making any sound.

"Master, are you really planning on giving them that Inheritance Ground?"- An alluring voice broke the deathly silence in the space.

"Of course we will…"

"However, I never said when"- A cold and mysterious smile flashed on Henry's lips.

Seeing that smile, Camille showed a joyful expression. She knew it. The boy in front of her wouldn't move if he couldn't benefit fully from something. It seems like the fun will soon begin.

"Take three hundred scouts and search this whole forest."

"I want you to search every corner, every tree, every cave….Anything suspicious or irregular should be noted and then handed to me."- Henry commanded as he got down from his horse.

"Where are you going, chief?"- Brand hoarsely asked

"Search"

Henry answered and walked towards the cliff's edge. Before anyone could say anything else, he took another step forwards, falling like a shooting star.

*Boom*

A strident sound echoed through the air.

Henry stood inside a small crater, unscratched, like those fantasy characters from novels. Without wasting time, he kicked the ground and entered the forest, like a lighting bolt.

---------x-------

Henry traversed rapidly through the forest. The beasts and animals around seemed to avoid him at all cost as if he was the real beast.

Henry had almost no knowledge of this region. Although it was a territory under his rule, this location was never developed. The people who lived here were part of an oppressed minority that couldn't adapt and live in the cities.

While Henry marched towards the Yakun Province, he heard some traveling merchants whispering with fear to one another, saying that the Yakun Forest was cursed and every year people mysteriously disappear.

"Qi flow?"- Henry whispered in confusion

A tiny and almost imperceptible thread of Qi was being pulled towards a certain direction. If not for his high perception of Qi, he would have missed it.

Henry immediately dashed in the direction of the Qi. He could feel that as he got closer to the source, the Qi seemed to become even more imperceptible, as If it was trying to hide itself. Moments later, Henry stopped moving.

"What is this?"

In front of him, there was a single stone

that seemed to have rested there for thousands of years. Faced against violent storms and sharp winds, this huge stone was molded into something natural of this region, like the grass and trees around it.

Henry noticed three small scratches in the middle of the rock as if someone intentionally did it with his own nails. The Qi was being rapidly s.u.c.k.e.d into it.

Henry's curiosity took the best of him. He walked towards the stone with large and quick steps, like a mindless zombie. Suddenly, dizziness assaulted his body.

"F.u.c.k...another Teleport Formation"

A sound like a sink drain s.u.c.k.i.n.g the last bit of water echoed through the space as Henry disappeared.

"Welcome! Welcome! To the most marvelous, deadly and joyful test in the universe!!!!"

"Created by the mighty Son of the Darkness, Azazel!!!!!"

"THE WARSCAPE GAME!!! Where your only mission is to escape and survive!!!"

"Failure on this game will only leads to death!"

Henry listened to this with a nauseous feeling, however, there was still a clear thought in his mind.

"Who the f.u.c.k had created this f.u.c.k.i.n.g stupid name!?"
