The Legendary Ruler

Chapter 7 - Heaven Swallowing Sword

In front of Henry, there was a curved edged long black sword nailed in the skull of a giant monster.

The monster's body was like a giant winged serpent with at least hundreds of meters in length. It had beautiful green scales that shined gloriously in this dimly lit environment.

"A Dragon?"

Henry guessed as he looked at the corpse in front of him. It looked a lot like those eastern dragons he had seen in movies and mangas in his past life.

"That thing should have been extremely strong"- He commented as he rapidly walked closer towards the sword and the Dragon's body.

Henry wanted to take that sword. He knew that this weapon was anything but normal since it was capable of penetrating through the dragon's hardest part, the skull.

When Henry was nearing the Dragon's body, he felt a mighty pressure pouring down on him, making him slow down. When he finally got closer to the monster's corpse, he was completely covered in sweat.

"It's huge"- Henry said as he looked upwards.

He would need to climb up to get where the sword was, but this distance he felt confident.

"Let's do this"

Henry walked some meters backward. He would need to run and then jump, it was the only way he could get up there.

*boom*

Henry kicked the ground and sprinted towards his objective. He traversed the distance in the blink of an eye, even faster than those Olympic athletes.

He was overjoyed when he felt this new strength coursing through his body, he never felt so powerful, so capable. He felt as if nothing was impossible. When it was the right time, Henry jumped.

Henry's body soared as he cut through the air, like an eagle piercing the wind itself. He landed like a comet on the dragon's back, but without much time to reduce the impact and stabilize his body, he fell head-on.

"Ouch"

Henry stood up while massaging his forehead.

The crash wasn't so hard to give him any kind of serious lesion or trauma, just some shallow scratches.

He looked towards the black sword, his eyes glimmered with excitement. He knew that this weapon could change his destiny, it could change the destiny of the entire Anvil Kingdom. Perhaps, fate led him here to find this sword and bring it to light again.

However, Henry still couldn't understand one thing. If this was his Ancestor's sword, why did he never heard of it? He had never heard of this sword inside the castle or in the numerous tales about his family.

Remembering those drawings, Henry's eyes shined with passion.

'Perhaps, the Anvil Ancestor wasn't the real owner of this sword, but the First Human Sovereign'- Henry thought.

Thinking about this, Henry immediately dashed towards the sword. The joy and eagerness in his eyes couldn't be hidden. This weapon could allow him to reach new boundaries and protect his life.

Henry's blood boiled in excitement as he grew closer to the sword. Some sort of connection seemed to form between him and the weapon in front of him as if it was asking him to bring it out and show it's mightiness.

Henry closed the distance in an instant. He held the hilt of the sword and pulled, surprisingly it came out easily. At that right moment, something awakened inside him, his soul seemed to mysteriously bond with the sword.

"Heaven Swallowing Sword"

The sword's name reverberated in his mind, like a thunder. Besides that, large amounts of information pertaining to the sword entered Henry's brain.

The sword seemed to be capable of swallowing everything in the Universe in order to become more powerful, even the gods could be consumed.

Learning about this, Henry knew that he acquired something that even the most powerful and ancient Sects in the world would feel jealous over.

"Unfortunately it's broken and will take some time to return to its previous state"- Henry said as he swung the sword around with a sad look.

"Maybe, I can swallow this Dragon"- Henry paused and looked down, the idea was quite plausible.

Thinking about this, Henry promptly stabbed the sword back in the dragon and activated its skill.

"Swallow"- He commanded.

Red energy came out of the sword and covered Henry. The dragon beneath his feet was withering rapidly, losing its previous 'fresh appearance', even the bones were being destroyed and consumed by the sword.

After a few moments, the Dragon corpse disappeared, as the sword s.u.c.k.e.d the energy back to itself, leaving only the dumbstruck Henry.

"It seems like I won big this time"- Henry said as he looked in awe at the black sword.

"Unfortunately, it will take some time to absorb and refine all this life essence"

"Now, I need to find a way out of here"

Henry looked around the room in search of a way out. He knew that the exit was somewhere in this place because there was no way that someone would build a place without a leaving method.

He looked at those pure white marbles, wondering where the exit door was located. The rooms seemed to not see the passage of time, as there were no signs of it on the walls or the ceiling, which made even harder to spot the door.

Henry began to touch the walls, attempting to feel something different from it, some kind of different feeling.

"Where is it?"- Henry asked himself.

Suddenly, he disappeared.
