The Liberal Assassin

Chapter 73 - Prison Break (2)

It happened so quickly that my mind was reeling to catch up with reality. One moment I had unlocked the cell and knocked the guards out, the next moment I was running through a labyrinth.

The stairs were unbelievably hard to locate but once I found them, it was a disappointing attempt at finding the exit.

The exit was located on the top floor contrary to my speculations. When I finally arrived at the exit panting, Rion was waiting with a pair of cuffs ready in hand. The smirk on his face didn't bode well. I cursed my luck for the four hundredth time that day when a furious Arvin appeared behind me with the two-timing traitor.

Caught in a pincer attack, I had no choice but to take a defensive stance.

Red-faced, Arvin yelled to Rion about how nobody was found in the location I mentioned.

"Khronos doesn't exist in the records and the whole sordid place hasn't been lived in for a while! Your truth serum is a scam!"

I had to keep the smile off my face at that claim. They had come so close but missed the mark. Khronos must have noticed the trespassers in his territory and hid in the hidden lab. There was still hope after all. Now that the truth serum was worn out, I could play my card.

Wearing a look of utter shock and betrayal, I swore to whatever powerful figure there was known to men.

"He really is there! It can't be with anyone else, I… I gave it all to him!"

"You lie!" Arvin punched me across the jaw, dislocating it.

Rion seethed internally and ordered for an electrocution chamber to be set up.

"The boy will learn or die learning. He will speak this time, truth serum or not."
