The Search For The Reincarnated Queen

Chapter 16 - He's my Sunshine

"Well... you've seen a beast... if I told you we're ghosts, would you believe us?"

Eli stared at Eli and Tram, she already had a conclusion that they are ghosts, especially that they come and go. She shrugged, "Okay. So?"

It's been years since she last saw a ghost, maybe her Aunt's spell is gone.

E sighed in relief, "Okay, then this will be easy." She walked towards Eli and held her hand, "I have something to tell you."

Eli nodded and took a sit on her bed, "Tell me. It sounds urgent."

E looked at Tram, his future and existence lay on Eli's hand. If she and Taylan don't meet, their son wouldn't exist, Tram wouldn't be born.

"This is a story about a human and a vampire who fell in love hundreds of years ago. They were crowned King and Queen of their kingdom. The Queen made peace between humans, vampires, and beasts."

Eli's peaceful eyes sharpened with the mention of 'beasts.' But E didn't notice since she's playing with her skirt due to anxiety that Eli wouldn't believe her.

"But.... something happened and the Queen died with their son," E's voice grew faint, "And... now, they became ghosts." She looked Tram who's busy looking around Eli's room.

"And that Queen was you, am I right?" Eli pointed at E, "That's why you wear the same dress every day."

E nodded, "Yes."

"Then... why are you telling me this?"

"Help us."

Eli stared at E, of course, ghosts need help. They always do. "Your husband is the vampire king? The blond and gold eyes?"

E nodded as she stands up, "He is. That is why we need to find him. The Kingdom has turned into chaos, the beasts and vampires are beginning to hunt humans again. We have to stop this!" E's voice was full of conviction.

Eli chuckles, "You think beasts and vampires are only BEGINNING to hunt humans? They've been doing that for decades now, E. And... let me just tell you this, you failed as a Queen. If they really listened to you, they wouldn't have hurt humans even after you died."

E and Tram froze, as Eli's tears begin to fall to her rosy cheeks and her hands started shaking.

"They..." she took a deep breath and bites her lips, "...they killed my parents, E. I'm sorry but if I have to face those monsters again, I might end up killing myself or killing your people."

E shakes her head with a frown on her face, "No. You don't have to meet any beasts, just find him. Find Taylan for me."

Eli stops sobbing, "Tay? You mean Taylan, um..." Eli closed her eyes to remember the full name of Taylan. Then she snapped her finger, "Taylan René Eiman Haila!" she said with enthusiasm.

E giggled, "Taylan René Eilam Haima, yes." She nodded but when she realized that Eli knows Taylan her eyes grew wide, "You know him!?"

"Yeah, he's my boss' friend."

"Who's your boss?"

"Rein."

"Reinold Lewis Smith, the King's guard and personal assistant."

Eli looked at E, "Do you want me to send him a message?" Usually, ghosts only want to send a message to the family they left. But E shakes her head.

"Yes. Tell him that you are the reincarnated Queen, Eli."

E held Eli's arm tight, determined not to let her decline. Her stares are beginning to dive deep into Eli's eyes.

"Then, what? Should I play as the Queen?" Eli snorts, "You want me to play as the dead wife? He's the vampire King, E. Not because I look like you doesn't mean I am you. I already heard and saw enough, I am quitting my job in the library."

"You're not being reasonable here, Eli Listen to me!" E shakes Eli, this is the only chance she has for Tram and Taylan. If she fails to encourage Eli, she'll run away.

"And you think you're reasonable, E?! You really think I don't know who you are? I've heard your love story from my Aunt. Maybe you've forgotten this, but the King killed you!"

E suddenly felt her whole body grew heavy. A fragment of her memory flashed. Since she woke up as a ghost, all she can remember was Taylan and all her happy memories. She knew somebody killed her, but she can't remember who. But now, that image went clear. Taylan's face that was full of anguish appeared.

"I don't need a human Queen who will soon die, along with the energy you're supposed to give me. I'll find someone better," Taylan said as he stabs her deeper.

As her breath turns cold and shallow, she saw someone walk towards her. E pulled that person's collar and whispered, "Make them forget about me. They don't need me, they will kill me again. Erase their memory of me."

"Momma!" Tram yelled and ran to E as she slowly falls on her knees.

Eli looked away, she never thought that the story she once heard from her Aunt was real. As a child, she didn't think that the story was about betrayal and heartbreak.

"No..." E whispered, "No..."

Her tears washed her cold wrecked face, Tram hugs her tight, but all she can feel was the emptiness in her c.h.e.s.t.

"Sorry," Eli whispered, "I didn't want to tell you. I was just angry with your people. I didn't mean to hurt you, E."

"Momma, we have to go. Someone's coming," Tram held E's hand and looked at Eli, "You're my momma, Eli. Not now, but before and tomorrow." He said and they vanished like a bubble.

"Eliora?" Aunt Susie called, "I have snacks, you wait while I cook dinner," she said.

Eli looked at the mirror, "I am not you, E. If he killed you, I wouldn't want to get involved with him."

Taylan threw the Queen's book on the wall when he found out that it was useless. "Find Sandra," he ordered. His heart grew painful as his anger grows, "Find me a shaman." He said as Rein helps him on sitting.

"I will," Willow bowed and disappeared to find a shaman for the King's pain.

"Sandra has other intentions, Sir. If she gets involved with us even more, we don't know what she might do." Trace frowns, he can't bear to see the King in this kind of situation.

"But she's the only guide we have. Whoever is hiding behind her, we have to have them." Rein poured tea for Taylan and gave Trace a piece of paper, "She lives here. Be sure to keep it down."

Trace and Dane looked at each other and bowed at Taylan, "We will bring her, My lord."

"Macky," Taylan called to the kid who was sitting quietly on the couch, "Find every information about Eli, everything."

Rein, Macky, and Jade looked at the King with confusion. "Why Eli, My lord?" Macky asks.

"She's... something. We have to find out if she's connected to Sandra in anyway."

"No! Eli cannot do that! She's not bad!" Macky talked back, which surprised Rein and Jade.

Taylan sighs, "This is why she's something. Everyone else is too attached to her. Vampires and beasts are not the type to fancy a human too much to a point where they'll disobey their King."

Ben decided to take a walk and saw a familiar face, "Eli?" he called, and the girl turned around. Silver long hair, Ben stops walking, "Eliora Vivienne Solaire?"

E and Tram looked at Ben, "France Benedict!" E ran to him and hugged him tight.

"What is happening? How... Why.... What..." Ben wasn't able to finish his questions, he hugged his best friend back. Now that he can remember who he is, he was able to see the ghost of the Queen.

"At last... I've been trying to talk to you for the past days. Why did you remember everything too late?" E smiled and held Ben's face, "You look different," she giggled but tears are stream down her eyes.

"What happened?" Ben asked, "What can you remember?"

Tram hides behind E, he doesn't know who this guy is. "Momma, let's go." He whispers.

"Who is this?" Ben asks while looking at Tram with a cheerful smile, "He looks like Taylan."

E nodded, "Yes... he is. I don't know what happened but here he is," E kneeled and held Tram's head and kissed his forehead.

"He's my sunshine. I will do anything for him," E whispered, she'll even cross death and life for him. Even though Taylan killed her, he'll do anything for Tram. She'll make sure that he will live.
