The Sun-Moon Spear God

Chapter 6 - title at the End

Chen Xin was very bored as he continued his journey towards the Academy as after the incident of getting his first spirit ring, he couldn't see a single spirit beast or even a spirit master in the road that led to the Academy.

Still he assumed that civilians wouldn't use this path to travel but still, he had expected to at least see some spirit beasts even if they had ages in the hundreds.

This was the first time he had ever come this far from the village alone and he wanted to see all that the outside world had to offer.

Not that the forest didn't interest him but still it wasn't something you could watch for hours and not get bored. Finally when he had enough of seeing the monotony of the forest, he decided to start running at a reasonably fast speed so that he would cover more distance and make up for the tome he had lost absorbing the spirit ring.

After running for about 4 hours while taking a few breaks in between, he finally reached Nuoding City which he had seen a few times when he had come here with the village guards to protect the goods the village had to sell in the city.

The city was still the same as he remembered when he had visited it last year. He quickly started walking towards the Academy which was very close to the gate which he had entered from.

As he reached the Academy Gates, he observed the building he saw in front of him and was surprised as it was bigger than he had thought.

Personally he had expected something a little bigger than some lesser clan compounds in his previous life. But the Academy he could see in front of him was a collection of quite a few buildings which had nameplates on them from what he could see being, "The Teaching Hall", "Working students Dormitory", and further in was the "Principal's Office" along with the " Administration Office".

As he walked towards the gate to enter, he was stopped by the guards to ask about the reason he was here.

He removed the letter given to him by the old man at the spirit awakening ceremony and showed it to the guards. The Guard took the letter looking at it suspiciously but still opened it to read. Just as he read the contents, he seemed to straighten which caused the other guard to see what was written in it and doing the same himself.

The Guards let him in almost immediately and looked at him with awed gazes which made him feel uncomfortable. He slipped past them hurriedly and entered towards the building marked "Administration Office".

Chen Xin's POV

After the suspicious incident at the Gate, I was tempted to open the envelope which was returned to be by the guard and read the contents, but I supposed that the contents didn't matter much in the long run as I wouldn't be staying for long in the Academy.

I reached the Administration Office to enter the Academy and went to the reception.

"Excuse me, I came here to take admission in the Academy"

"Sure, please fill this form and pay the fees at the counter"

The woman at the reception replied in what I understood was a perfectly practiced speech she seemed to have said thousands of times before.

"Umm, I was told I could join as a working student here"

As she heard that, she seemed to dim by a very small amount for a moment before she recovered immediately, but I was able to catch the slip she had made.

"Oh.. yes then please enter your details in this form and go to the area inside where you will be told you will be told your accommodations and your work schedule."

The woman replied still in the same voice but still there seemed to be a small amount of indifference in it which I noticed because I was paying close attention. I decided it would be a good time to show her the letter and see what her reaction would be.

"Umm.... I was given this letter by the old man who came to our village for the spirit awakening ceremony and the guards told me to show it to you when I came here"

The woman took the letter and stilled for a second seeing it, as if she recognised it and opened the letter to read it.

Once she read the letter, she didn't show any emotion on her face but her face did pale a small amount unnoticeable to most people.

Just as I wondered what she would do and was about to call her, she stood up and asked me to follow her towards the Principal's Office.

I then followed her till the Principal's office where she told me to wait for a minute and entered inside, likely explaining the reason she had come.

After a while she came it and told me go inside while she left returned to her place at the reception.

Just as I entered, I saw two people inside the office. One of them was the old man who had come to our village while the other was a middle aged man who looked to be in his early 30's.

As I was about to ask, why I was here, the younger looking of the two said,

"So you are the kid who impressed him so much that he recommended me to take you as my disciple, you don't look like much"

I didn't understand what he was talking about so I did the only thing I thought at the time,

"Huh..., who are you Uncle.."

The middle aged man recoiled at the word as if struck and the old man laughed heartily at the face the man was making.

This situation made me even more confused but the old man interjected as I was thinking,

"Sorry kid, I am the principal of Nuoding Academy and this is my friend. He is as close as a brother to me and I suggested him to take you as a disciple as your talent was very high and you even have a spear spirit just like him."

"I see. Thank you for the opportunity sir, but who is he?"

" I am the 'Star Douluo'. You will become my one and only disciple if you can pass my test. Will you take it?"

I did not immediately answer his question and thought about it. I knew I had a good talent in spear arts which is why I was selected by the

Sun moon scripture but I wasn't arrogant enough to believe that i would be able to survive all alone in this world with my own strength until I became a spirit emperor or a spirit king at the very least.

So after thinking for almost 15 minutes I gave my answer.....

Zheng Yang POV

When my brother in all but blood had called me to his academy and told me that he had a very suitable candidate for becoming my disciple, coming to his academy, my first reaction had been to scoff and ask him if he was joking or had gone senile as he knew what my standards were..

But he assured me that he was truly serious and did indeed have a candidate which had a unique spear spirit along with having innate full spirit power. The kid even had a tyrannical physical body which would make him the perfect disciple for me to pass on my techniques to.

Thus I decided to meet the kid on the day he entered the academy. The boy arrived a few days later at the gates and I could see that he already had his first spirit ring because his spirit rank was 15 and not 10 like I had assumed it to be.

I was truly shocked that a kid 6 years old was able to kill a spirit beast on his own to get a spirit ring .

But I also hoped that the spirit ring was at Least 300 years old, otherwise the kid would have destroyed his hopes of becoming a titled douluo.

I didn't worry about the kid having a 10 to 99 year old spirit ring due to his spirit rank as no white ring would be able to increase his rank from 10 to 15

Still to not make it seem like I was shocked I acted arrogant on purpose when he entered the office but him calling me an Uncle really touched a soft spot and made my brother laugh harder than ever.

Still, I got over the embarrassing event and offered the kid the chance to be my disciple if he passed my test.

I had expected him to jump at the chance but the kid was actually silent for a while which increased my opinion of him by a lot before he finally replied...

"Yes I will take the test...."

Now then let's see if he truly passes my test...

"Be ready kid!! It is not so easy to become my student...." I said to the kid who nodded completely seriously.…
