The System Of Somatosensation

My plan was carefully formulated and perfectly handled. Nighttime came and mother is already asleep back in her room. She didn't realized I just started my hunt earlier that morning so she did not do anything. Sister Yukii did not go back home, she might be on her academy staying.

I formulated every single things I needed for my night hunting. Unlike monsters in the morning, monsters in the evening turns a drastic change to wild to extremely hostile. They also take a drastic measures to kill their target in numbers, and also, they can be more feral than usual and instead of just attacking one by one and will not approach you once you are drench in blood, during night time, they would go on frenzy and will attack whether you are covered in blood or not.

I decided to go all out with all my paraphernalia inside my trusty bag. Still, I am quite nervous since being killed and ripped apart by monsters without much fight is quite another bad ending death for me. If not for the sake of earning fast money with an urgent deadline, I would never use this plan.

I brought six daggers with me. I realized that having only two daggers at night is akin to inviting death. Therefore, I added extra precaution on it. I also brought out one long stick and a few animal fat alongside with matches. During the night time, I needed light source and since this world seems to have no flashlight invented, I decided to just use the traditional torch. I wrapped the stick with animal fat on the end and placed it on the side of my sling bag. I also brought a few mana potions that my sister brought along with her whenever she goes home. I can't afford to lose lots of mana in this fight. I brought bandages and a few medicinal items in case I need healing. I can't always rely on my [Heal] magic on this that is why I needed enough preparations.

After checking everything, I pick up the cloak I used earlier and wear it again in my body. The whole place around is already silent and there are no lights in the area, making it a perfect cover movement during my plan.

My only problem is how to bring the carcasses back to the city. I barely brought the carcasses last time back so if I managed to kill lots of monsters, the carcasses would bring me a lot of hard time. Still, I can't just give up on this.

I slowly crept out of the house and after knowing that mother did not notice me sneak out, I suddenly got a notification.

"[Sneak] ability is learned on the Passive abilities."

I grinned seeing this. Passive abilities help me a lot and since the Passive sections has no limit, I was so happy that I earned one. If I trained [Sneak] a lot, I might have a chance to masterfully infiltrate dangerous places without being noticed. Still, I don't dare to dilly dally around. Time is running and I can't just wait here without doing anything. I need to gather carcasses as fast as I can.

The dark night made a perfect cover to my advance towards the forest. With the forest as the main location of the hunt, I pulled out the first daggers I used earlier while I was still in the entrance of the forest. Unless you step in the forest during night time, you are safe from monster assaults but once you did cross that, you are already in danger of being attacked. Of course, I don't want to die just like that.

The forest was quite empty during the night time but it was quite hard to see clearly and only the shadows of the bushes, trees and branches are usually seen around. I never expected that the forest looks very dangerous while its nighttime. I really have a bad feeling but I have no choice. Let's just continue.

I keep moving forward without certainty where am I inside the forest. Then, I realize that I am already on the center of the forest where I killed the monsters earlier. I can feel the stares of the hungry beasts in the shadows. I grip my daggers tightly but its also ready to pull the torch out and light it up to scare the monsters. That way, I wont get ganged up by these feral monsters.

As expected, the monsters began to assault. The monsters were quite crazed and their eyes are red. I quickly made a quick movement.

"[Frigid Ice]!"

I cast a magic to block a few monsters on my blindspot and kill the monsters that are on my range and sight.

SWISH!

SLASH!

THWACK!

Slices and different kind of movements are being used by me simultaneously to kill enemies left and right without stopping. I had no idea how to last the battle if I don't make full use of my body that currently know from the knowledge I have in the past lifetime.

"I can't let myself get devoured by you monsters!" I roared as I slash and stab most monsters in my area. My whole body got wet after being drenched by monster blood but I don't care. Carcasses slowly piled up inside the place and continue to kill the crazed monsters. No wonder no hunters dare to fight monsters after the sun sets. Its just too dangerous!

The monsters that I have killed so far looks like far exceeded from the battle I did earlier where I was the hunter. This time, it felt like I was the hunted instead of being the hunter. The amount of enemies are overflowing and my hands wielding the daggers felt heavy for some reason and they are already drenched in blood. My body is also wounded from different attacks but I don't feel much pain. Might be due to the skill I acquired earlier which is also one of the passives.

This might be the reason the pain is not that intense than how I remembered it actually. The level of it has actually risen from level 1 to level 4 right now. Wounds are all over my body and I am not sure if I can still last.

"Host leveled up from level 2 to level 3. Congratulations"

I don't care! I need to kill these bunch of cretins!

"[Dagger Mastery] leveled up from level 3 to level 4. Congratulations."

I continue to kill. I shouted using [Sonic Shout], I slash using the dagger. I slash, I kill, I repeat. Soon, this movements are now a monotone movement as I continue to kill, not knowing how many hours have already passed but if you look at the two moons above the sky, you can still tell that the battle is far from over.
