Time Traveling Hero

Chapter 12 - Unnamed Boy Meets Silver Haired Girl PT.5

After my usual morning routine with my now normal adorable sister, I hopped on Raijin and landed on the roof. Luckily, no one saw us, although I do hope the day never comes when rumors start flying around about a giant bird and the boy riding him comes to pass.

I walked into my first class, and I saw the usual silver hair in the seat behind me, gazing out the window. Depra was also in his seat, looking out the window as well.

I tapped him on the shoulder on my way to my seat, and he jumped a little bit. He relaxed as soon as he saw who it was though.

"Oh, it's just you. How come I didn't see you walk in from the front?" he asked.

Oh, were they watching the window so he could know when I arrived? "I arrived earlier, and was just lazing around," I responded vaguely before taking my seat.

"Good morning Master," said the usual flat voice.

"I told you to stop calling me that! Didn't I tell you it was a joke!?"

The silver haired girl looked at me with her usual expressionless face, her eyes whirring into focus as she looked at me.

"But Master, that is what you wished me to call you correct?"

"Yes, but-!"

"Then Master you are," she said simply.

"You didn't even let me finish!"

"Um, how exactly do you two know each other?" Depra asked, looking at our argument in confusion.

"I don't know her, she just a damn nuisance is what she is," I responded before facing forward again.

"Master and I go as far back as last week," Model 114141 also responded.

"I told you to stop calling me that!"

"I see, so you have other friends besides me," Depra muttered sadly, his eyes downcast as he started to mess with his unkempt hair.

Damn it. "Nope, you are most definitely the first friend I've had. She's just a nuisance, an acquaintance at best, a pain in the a.s.s at the worst, and she's most definitely near the worst end," I explained quickly, trying to cheer him up.

"Oh, I see, so that's how it is," he muttered, an air of darkness starting to surround him. He put is head down onto the desk, and his pencil rolled down onto the floor as the result.

I reached down to grab it when I frowned. "Where did the pencil go?"

It just disappeared without a trace. I tried to see if it had rolled farther away, but before I could, Depra stopped me.

"It's okay, don't worry about the pencil too much. You won't find it no matter how hard you try," he said, looking over at me with his sad eyes.

What the hell that's supposed to mean? Before I could ask however, the final bell rang, and classes had started for the day.

A little tidbit of information about this school that is worth noting. The school is well renowned for its academics, so it's incredibly difficult to get into. The classes never go below Honors, and they also teach a bunch of college level courses here. The top 200 students who enroll get put into a special class, where they learn even higher-level classes than their surrounding peers. And the top 50 of those top 200 get put into an even higher-level classes, and that is the level that I am at. Of course, the top 10 also get special privileges, but that's for another time.

After sitting through class after boring class, it was finally lunch time. I grabbed my lunchbox and was about to head up to the roof when I heard Depra yell out from behind me.

"Wait up!"

I stopped at the door of the classroom, and I saw Depra desperately trying to catch up. I walked out of the door and waited outside for him. He bolted out of the door and looked both ways for me when he saw me leaning against the wall.

He breathed a sigh of relief. "Oh thank goodness, I'm glad you didn't leave."

"What do you want?"

"Eh? Oh, I was just wondering if you wanted to eat lunch with me in the cafeteria is all," he muttered, looking down. "Of course, you don't have to if you don't want to, but, I would really appreciate it."

I gave a light tap on his shoulder. "Well, what are you waiting for? Lead the way Depra King."

His face lit up with that rare genuine happiness that he rarely showed. "Alright then! Follow me!" I followed behind him as he lead me to the cafeteria. I wasn't about to admit this to him, but I actually didn't know where the cafeteria was, having always eaten my lunch on the roof.

I walked into the cafeteria and was surprised at how spacious it was. There were a bunch of round tables for people to eat at, and it also looked like there were courtyards where people could eat as well. I followed him into the lunch line, where the food actually didn't look like trash, unlike at my last school. On the contrary, it looked almost like gourmet food. I guess they must treat the students here well or something, not that I've ever been graced with that kindheartedness.

After he got his food, we walked to a nearby table, where two familiar faces, one of which I was not happy about, were already sitting.

"Oh, hello Master, glad you could join us."

"Wait, you call him Master? Depra, you must stay away from that boy."

Two girls, Model 114141 and Lachesis, were sitting together, probably awaiting our arrival.

"Hey Lachesis, be nice to him. He is a friend of mine," Depra replied firmly to Lachesis, who had already taken a massive dislike to me before I had even done anything to her. Normally people like me before I open my mouth, so this was new.

"Yeah, I understand Depra," she said reluctantly, still eyeing me as she drank her chocolate milk.

"And you, why are you here?" I asked the other girl.

"I wish to speak to you about our situation Master."

"I already told you no, I'm not going with you! And stop calling me Master damn it!"

Me and Depra took our seats across from the the girls, and I set my lunchbox down onto the table. I opened it up to find my delicious lil' sis' home cooking. I smiled in pure happiness as I clapped my hands together.

"Thanks for the food!"

I then happily started to dig, and I finished about a quarter of my food before I noticed everyone staring.

"What?"

"I didn't realize Master could smile like that," said the silver haired girl. It was strange though, she said it in her normal tone, but I felt another emotion behind her words, although I couldn't pinpoint exactly what it was.

"I have to agree. I don't think I've seen you smile at all," agreed Lachesis, who had taken a bite out of her food.

I turned to Depra, who was also staring. "I mean, I've seen you smile once, but you don't seem like a person who would smile all that much, let alone be happy."

I gave him a light tap on the head. "Idiot, I'm happy around you aren't I?"

He rubbed his head. "Yeah, but not like how you just were," he muttered, slightly embarrassed.

Is it seriously weird for a man to be happy for him to eat his adorably cute younger sister's cooking? I scratched my head before sighing. Ah well, no use worrying about.

I continued to eat my lunch, and when I was done, I put away my lunchbox and frowned. Now that I think about it, what are you supposed to do when you eat with people at school. Is it like at home? It had been so long since I had done it that I had completely forgotten how.

"So, who makes your lunchbox? Don't tell me that you make your own lunch," asked Lachesis.

"Someone who fell from heaven makes it for me," I responded cheekily.

"His younger sister makes it for him," answered Model 114141.

"Damn you, don't go telling other people about my business!" I responded, scowling at her.

"Whoa, you have a little sister?" Depra said, looking shocked. Lachesis also looked shocked as well.

"Is it really so surprising that I have a younger sibling?" I growled.

"She is probably forced to deal with his abuse the most," Lachesis said sadly, feeling sorry for my sister.

I thought about what I did with my sister over the weekend before laughing and waving off her comment. "Yeah, not a chance that's true."

She scowled at my dismissive attitude. "You mean to say you can actually act different?"

"Affirmative. Around his sister, he is quite-"

"SHADDUP!" I roared out, cutting her off before she could finish her sentence.

Depra, ignoring our banter, looked over at Model 114141. "Do you know how to cook too? You brought lunch as well."

It was true. She had her own lunchbox filled with delicious looking food, eerily similar to mine.

I frowned at her lunch. "Why does your lunch look like mine?"

"Your sister makes it for me everyone morning before I head off to school," she replied calmly before taking another bite out of her lunch. "Delicious."

I see, so that's what she meant by she had other things to do during the day. Ah well, guess it can't be helped. It's the first time in a long while that she's done something like this, and I wasn't about to stomp down on it. Oh, how wrong I was...

"Wow, your sister sounds way nicer than you," Lachesis murmured before finishing up her food.

"Seriously, you're bordering on Pinkie levels of hatred here. What the hell did I do to get your p.a.n.t.i.e.s in a knot?"

The silver haired girl tilted her head. "P.a.n.t.i.e.s in a knot...?"

"It's none of your business, that's what. And stop getting so close to Depra!" she finished, swallowing down the last of her chocolate milk.

Oh? Could she be...? I grinned internally. I wrapped one arm around Depra and brought him close to me.

"Sorry, but me and Depra are bro's now. So, as the famous saying goes, bros before hoes."

Her face flashed a bright red at my statement and actions before turning back to normal. "Shu-shut up you."

"I used jealously against Lachesis. It was Su~per Effective!"

I released Depra from my hold, who just looked confused at the entire exchange.

"I really don't get you, but I'm glad you two are getting along."

"We aren't getting along!"

I looked at the time and saw it was about to be time to leave. "Well, me and Depra have to get going, so have fun in your other classes Lachesis." I grabbed Depra and ran away from a fuming Lachesis and a calm Model 114141.

When we got to the hallway, I released him from my grip and sighed. I looked over at Depra, who seemed a little worried.

"Are you sure it was okay to do that?"

"Ah, it's fine. This'll help her more than hurt her for sure," I said before continuing onward to our next class, which was AP Chemistry.

Depra started to walk next to me and frowned. "Okay, if you say so I guess. You are smarter than me, so whatever you say I'll listen too."

"Wrong."

"Eh?"

I had stopped in front of Depra and glared at him.

"Don't do that you idiot. You need to be able to make your own decisions, live your own life. Don't let anyone control you and be your own person. I've already told you before, but I don't like fake people. Don't be someone else's shadow. Life is too damn short to be in the shadows all the time!"

Depra looked shocked at my sudden outcry at his behavior before scratching his unkempt hair.

"So, by your logic, I shouldn't take any of your advice you just gave me to heart?"

I was temporarily stunned by his rebuttal before laughing. "But if you do that, that means you'll be following my advice."

"I guess you are right about that..." he trailed off, his attempt at being clever foiled.

Still chuckling, I motioned for him to move. "Come on, let's head to class."

Thus, the two grew closer once more.

---------------------------------------------------------------

After my activities with the Hidden Club, I decided to walk home, deciding to enjoy nature. As I walked down the usual path I took home, I noticed a strange feeling in the air. It was hard to explain, but it felt as if something was amiss.

I made it back to my home, where I said my usual hello to my sister before making my way up to my room. I collapsed onto my bed before taking out my key. I stared at it for a while before I noticed my phone buzzing next to me.

Huh? Who could be calling me? It could be my parents, telling me that they're coming home soon, although that was unlikely, seeing that they left the week prior.

I answered the phone and was shocked to hear the voice.

"Master, please come to the school roof," said a girl in an unemotional tone of voice.

"... Why do you have my phone number?"

"Depra gave it to me when I asked."

Damn it Depra, don't you know better than to give people's phone numbers to strangers? "Why should I?"

"Please, come."

I froze at the sentence, her normal flat voice wavering with emotion. The call soon ended, and I was left staring at my phone in shock.

"Argh, damn it!" I roared out as I slammed my fist down onto my bed.

I angrily made my back downstairs, stomping down the stairs. Alarmed, my sister came out from the kitchen to see the commotion.

"Big bro, what's wrong?"

I put on my shoes before turning around to answer her. "Some girl wants me to come to where she is. Don't worry, I won't be long." I gave her a quick hug, and left my worried sister in the house.

I ran back towards the school, going at the pace I would normally if I was late. Speaking of late, the sun had almost set below the horizon by the time I had gotten back to the school. Unluckily for me, the door was still open.

I rushed up the stairs until I made it to the roof, where I slammed the door open to find the culprit of my actions.

Basking in the glow of the setting sun, her silver hair flowing in the wind, was Model 114141. She noticed my sudden appearance and turned toward me.

"You came," she said in her usual tone of voice. However, I had a feeling that she was shocked.

I caught my breath before sighing. I looked her dead in the eye before saying my next words.

"So, what exactly do you want?"

And thus, started the end of the beginning.
