When A Ghoul Falls In Love

“Dinner was interesting.” Drace mumbles, “Fourth Brother brought an extraordinary person.”

Cyan doesn’t respond to his younger brother. After Eli left, his father also left the dining hall. The dinner was anything but appetizing. Tamara and Victoire are also gone. Belinda also left after finishing her meal. Only three of them remain in the dining hall.

“I want to befriend her.” Drace continues, “What do you think, Sixth Brother?”

“Do whatever you want.” Honestly, Cyan can’t care less. Everyone knows that human won’t live long.

“But what was that spirit?” Julianne asks. “I have never seen anything like that. It can’t belong to Fourth Brother. I can’t sense any dark aura from it.”

“Sixth Brother, you know a lot about spirits, right?” Drace places his elbow on the edge of the table. “What could it be? It’s just strange that Voss would lose to that spirit.”

Cyan leans back in his chair, swirling the glass of wine. His pale pink eyes narrow on the rouge wine. “I need to hold that cat first.”

“You need to touch it, Sixth Brother?” Julianne props her chin on her hand, c.o.c.king her head while slightly knitting her elegant brows. “Voss said that the cat started bullying him when he touched its tail.”

“Any creature would be annoyed if you touch the tail, especially when you are a stranger to that creature.” Cyan lets out a chuckle. “Voss is an idiot. The cat should have harmed him more.”

“It looks like a normal cat from every angle.” Drace defends Voss fiercely. “Why did Father act so calm? The cat burned his office. He wouldn’t even let us step into his office once, but he’s fine with a cat that brought disaster.”

“Father must have a good reason.” Cyan raises his chin. Father had said that the human female had the scent of Fae. That’s strange. A woman with a cat spirit can’t be an ordinary human. It seems that she has magic. But why is it a Fae? Did Fourth Brother intentionally bring her here because A smile creeps on his lips. That’s why Fourth Brother is in a hurry to marry that human. “Does Carmine know that Fourth Brother is marrying?”

“I think that she knows.” Julianne mutters, “It’s strange that she hadn’t made a move yet. Maybe she talked to Father.”

“What about Second Prince?” Drace questions her.

“He would know because Fourth Brother tried to have a wedding in the human world. The Council requested a priest from this world,” She replies solemnly. “He probably thought that he could bring her here and get married without anyone’s knowledge.”

“Fourth Brother is daring,” Cyan comments. He takes a sip of the wine. When a man falls in love with a woman, he can barely hide it in his eyes. His mouth might lie, but eyes can’t hide it. During the dinner, Fourth Brother’s eyes were fixed on that human female. That’s hilarious. How could that man fall in love? He whispers, “I find it amusing though.”

“I feel bad for the girl.” Drace shudders, who hasn’t heard Cyan’s words. “I also want to lick her.”

“Fourth Brother will pull your tongue out,” Julianne warns him. “He’s serious about her. And she’s a cunning woman.”

“All I want is one lick.” Drace picks up the bone and gnaws on it. He has never tasted fresh meat. Most human meat is exported from the human world. It’s highly pricey. Because of the Council, they can only buy the human meat who have died of disease or some accident. There are other conditions too. Still, some humans are illegally brought here and sold.

Humans also make cute short-lived pets. Some of them are used for warming the bed before they are devoured. However, human meat is too delicious and precious.

“A human with magic.” Drace swallows his saliva, dreaming of biting Nell’s thighs. “She must have a magic core. I want it the most.”

Julianne shakes her head. It’s going to be chaotic for sure.

On the other side of the mansion, a certain calico cat is stretching on someone’s bed.

But the owner of the bed isn’t angry at all. She pulls the stool closer to the bed with a book in her left hand. Her eyes brighten up when the cat finally finds comfort at the centre of the bed. She takes a seat and opens the book. “So, this book series is adapted into movies?”

It is a book about some magician. Belinda read it five times. But she hasn’t seen the movies yet. There’s no television in their place. The technology isn’t advanced either. Forget about televisions. They don’t even have radios.

“Nell had seen it twice,” The cat finally answers the girl. “The first time was in a theatre.”

He doesn’t say that Nell had seen it with Baek Joon-Woo and her friends.

“I want to see it too.” Belinda sniffles. “When will I visit the human world? I want to go to the theatre too.”

“Don’t you have a phone? Why don’t you watch it online?” Devil resists the urge to claw the girl’s cheek who stares at him with round watery eyes. The girl isn’t bad. But she’s not as good as Little Marshmallow. But he will play nice since the girl’s bed is comfortable. Hmph! Little Marshmallow’s brothers are a joke. The other two sisters are weird. How did Little Marshmallow survive here? He must take good care of Little Marshmallow.

“I can see it on the phone.” Belinda leans forward with stars in her eyes. “How do I do it?”

“I don’t share information for free.” He huffs at her, “What do I get in return for helping you?”

“What do you want?” Belinda’s voice turns low and hushed. “I will do my best if you teach me.”

That’s what he wanted to hear. “Tell me more about Little Marshmallow.”

“Little who?” Belinda furrows her brows in confusion. Is there a kid in the house? Isn’t she the youngest one?

“Your elder brother and my Nell’s future husband.” Devil cat clicks his tongue in distaste when the girl only blinks her eyes. “Eli Sanguine.”
