World Of Heroes And Legends

Chapter 27 - 26; Carnival (Part 2): Let the games begin!

We arrived in front of Central Park, where a long line of people stood to enter the Park. Thousands of rides, millions of screams and laughter echoed all around us. I jumped down and smiled brightly at Uriel.

"What do you think?" I ask, he furrowed his brows as he looked around clearly confused.

" Wasn't this a Zoo? Why are there so many people here and what's up with those." Uriel says pointing towards the rides.

" It's a circus. Or rather a carnival. Don't you know about them?" I ask tilting my head, his ears turned red instantly at the way I had said that, oh no.

"..... was I supposed to know about it?" Uriel asks shifting as the line moved forward, my smile faltered.

"No, it's fine. Let's just enjoy today and focus on the things you don't know about tommorow." I say and took his hand dragging him along with me as we waited for our turn and it soon arrived. The ticket seller paused and gave us both our tickets and ushered us in before I could pay, confusing me, I shrugged and dragged Uriel to the cotton candy booth.

"Ever heard of cotton candy?" I ask.

"Ah, no, why do they call cotton 'candy'?" He asks, his face scrunched up adorably. I grinned as I remembered what the candy is called in another language.

"Well in another language we call cotton candy, ghost breath because of how fluffy and weird it is, but it tastes great, want one?" I ask practically jumping with excitement.

"..... Sure." Uriel says sounding unsure of himself. Buying two sticks I handed the blue and white one over to Uriel while I began to chew the pink and white one. Uriel took a bite and his eyes widened in surprise before he began to eagerly eat more of the sweet and fluffy candy. Shaking my head I laughed softly.

"You'll get sugar rush if you gobble it up like that." I pointed out, he paused to stick his blue tongue out at me before continuing. Rolling my eyes I walked over to a stand that had a lot of stuffed animals hanging around it, inspecting them. Maybe Louise would like one of these.... Uriel paused as he saw my interest and shrugged his shoulder walking up to the person who owned the stand.

"How much for one?" Uriel asks pointing towards the animals, I started at him in confusion, why would he want one?

"Sorry, buddy, but you have to win them. If you can dunk the clown then-"

" The clown quit, Max." Says panting man holding his knees, an idea flashed through my mind so quickly that if it wasn't my mind I wouldn't have seen or known what it was, I smirked.

" I'll sit in his place then." I volunteered as I swallowed the last fluff of candy, throwing it in the dumpster. "You do have an extra pear of women's swim wear right?" I added cracking my knuckles in anticipation of getting a cool off. Uriel stared and so did the man behind the counter before he snapped out of his stupor and nodded his head vigorously, he pointed towards the panting man who nodded and rushed off only to return with three pairs of swim suits and loose ones too. Picking a black and red suit, I went into a toilet stand and switched my clothes out. Walking back, I smiled happily as the suit fitted perfectly. The man lead me to the dunking area right next to the stand and helped me into the dunker. My feet didn't even touch the water which scared me slightly, I looked down calculating the distance down,sh¶t. My heart fell as I realized how high up I actually was. My hands gripped the sides of the plank as Uriel stepped up, a ball in his hand, he smiled in apology towards me before throwing a fast ball, luckily it missed. I smiled triumphantly at him and wiggled my eyebrows in challenge. He picked up his second ball and threw a curve ball, thinking that he would miss my body unconsciously relaxed. The ball hit the target and I went in to the freezing water. Pushing myself up I gasped and quickly got out shivering. Uriel walked over and wrapped his shirt around my shoulders.

"Sorry." He says.

"It's fine, that was actually fun." Says a shivering me. The counter man handed a huge black cat over to Uriel who proceeded to hand it to me, which made me stare. He did that because I had stared at the animals. I brightened up and hugged the fussy cat against me, I can't give it away now can I? Not after being dunked for Uriel and receiving the reward instead.
