-Men chi {buzz}

That sound struck Nero like hundreds of arrows in the heart. He was left standing there frozen like a rock. He did not know how to respond. This was his first time in both of his life that his signature stew dish did not get him something he wanted. This dish was the reason his master accepted him. This dish was the reason he got lost his V-card the first time.

Menchi, on the other hand, was having an internal struggle now. The dish Nero provided was in a league of its own, it would not be an exaggeration to say "it was the best dishes she ever tasted". But alas her pride as a gourmet hunter will not let her do that. Since some applicants disrespected her profession as a hunter. She intended to fail the whole lot of them. Even if one of them was good. {He could take it next year so what of it!!} she thought

Buhara "that was so much food I couldn't eat another bite even if I tried," he said petting his big belly.

Menchi "yah, I am pretty much full myself, so none of you pass this exam, exam over!!!" she said

The declaration made by Menchi stunned everyone who was there. They could not accept it. And some of them were very vocal about it. And no one was as vocal as the big guy Todo.

Todo "this is unacceptable, do you hear me I will not accept this!!!"

Menchi looked his way and said.

Menchi "say what you want but you still fail," she said

Todo "ow shut the hell up!! You asked for pork and we gave it to you we risked our life's for this,"

Menchi "Your challenge was to prepare a pork dish that will satisfy both examines, and only one of you did that though his dish was disqualified on a technicality."

When Menchi said that last part all most everyone looked at Nero, as her words struck him like an arrow in his heart.

Menchi "The rest of you pretty much the same thing, I mean it like you didn't even try to figure it out, it is clear that none of you took this seriously"

Todo "shut up I am not here to be some gourmet cook, I am here to be a blacklist hunter and no stupid gourmet hinter is going to tell me otherwise"

Menchi "then it too bad that a supped gourmet hunter is your examiner, well better luck next time," she said with a glare.

Todo could not take it any longer and he tried to attack Menchi but was swatted a like a fly by Buhara. Menchi looked at Buhara with disappointment saying "please do interfere Buhara". Buhara excused himself by saying he was afraid she was going to kill the applicant. Which she replied with only a maybe.

Getting off her seat she delivers a pragmatic speech on why all of the applicants were unfitting be hunters. Her speech granted many reactions, some were troubled, some were angry, some were heartbroken (poor Nero), and some were angry, but most of the applicants were intimidated. Then a voice came from above them.

"That being said disqualifying all of them is a bit too much don't you think"

It was the voice of none other than the chairman of the hunter ȧssociation {Isaac Netero} himself. He jumped off the blimp he was on landing on the ground with a big {boom!!}. The force from his landing created a small dust cloud. He looked at Menchi and said

Netero "dear Menchi it has come to my attention that you chose to fail all of the applicants, the reason being their general reluctance to try the unknown," he said looking at her bosoms.

Menchi looked apologetic when Netero asked her that. She explained to him that she got angry when an applicant insulted here profession and she made the test harder than needed. She was so sorry that she demanded Netero to accept her resignation as the examiner. And for the applicant to retake the second phase. But Netero denied that and said. .

Netero "how about this you remain as the examiner, and whatever challenge you come up with, you must participate. I believe that would appease the applicant in accepting the outcome"

Menchi "well I suppose you are right, and I have just the thing in mind, we will all be making boiled ages"

Menchi "Mr. Netero, can you use your airship to take us to spilled-mountain"

Netero "split mountain? Oh, I see!"

All of the applicants got on Netero's airship and after some time arrived at {split-mountain}. When Nero and the other applicants got off the ship. Menchi showed them an amazing sight. Inside of the ravine in the mountain, there were a lot of spider-eagle eggs. These eggs are also known with another name {Dream eggs} on account of their taste.

Menchi "our challenge is to get those eggs," she said looking down the gorge.

Todo "wait you don't mean," he said stuttering

Menchi "hells yah I am" she side and jumped down.

Menchi very acrobatically caught one of the silk threads to hang on to. Waiting for the wind draft for a bit she released her grip. On the way down she caught one of the eggs. Before she could fall to her death a strong wind draft lifted her buck.

Menchi "to pass to the next phase you just have to get those eggs"

Gon and his friends were the first ones to jump even before Menchi explained how to do it safely. Followed by some others, but most were too afraid to even attempt it. The risk of falling to their deaths was too high to get over. So rather than risk it all they chose to live to fight another day. They could try again as long as they are alive.

Nero, on the other hand, was down in emotions ever since the rejection. He did not care for the teste at all and wanted to get it over with as soon as possible. Menchi noticed his dejected look and tried to talk to him, but before she could that Nero jumped down the gorge. Unlike the other applicant through whom were hanging by the threads of the spider-eagles. Nero chose to do it with a little bit more flare.

His display amazed the applicant who were there and even the Procter and Netero himself. And none other was impressed more than the Gon himself. The boy had stars in his eyes watching Nero waking on nothing but air.

Gon "woooow, look guys he is flying!!!" he shouted

Nero landed near Menchi gave here on of the eggs while storing the rest in his bag. After that he sat down little farther away from them waiting for the rest of the applicants to come. He was stile gloomy over the rejection so he was not talkative at all.

Netero "why he sad he passed the test right?" he asked Menchi and Buhara.

Buhara "gu, haha, why don't you ask her that" he said pointing Menchi

Menchi then blushing and awkwardly explained the situation to Netero. Which he in turn also started laughing as hard as Buhara. This only added to the awkwardness she felt while facing Nero. She did not know how to talk to him at all now that she cooled down.

Netero "I think beat you fair and square Menchi"

Menchi "I know I will go talk to him"

She went to were Nero was pouting at and said.

Menchi "your dish was very delicious, and I am sorry I disqualified it"

Nero "come again??"

Menchi "I mean our bet you won I mean"

Nero "I won!! So that means I get your number"

Menchi "yes!!" she said a bit awkwardly

Nero {alfa}

Alf {yes sir?}

Nero {designate mission priority one as perfect success} he though while smiling at Menchi

Alfa {affirmative sir!!! I had no doubt in you at all...}

After the Nero the rest of the applicants started to came out of the ravine using the wind draft. They were holding the eggs in their hands as a sing of their success. After that it was the time to boil the eggs. All of the applicants who passed the second phase had happy looks in their faces as they were ingoing the test of the eggs. Amongst the in that moment there was none one happier than one particular person.

Author note: hi guy I hop did not make you wait long for this chapter phase two is finally over. If you think I took way too long on this phase then you are absolutely right. I love Menchi and I just had to do it so sorry if I made you suffer with me. I will try t to make the next phases a lot shorter than this one.
