Worlds Conquering Necromancer

Chapter 25 - The Mountains

*Giggle

"Stop struggling, you're not gonna escape me." Emily said, rubbing her cheeks against her pet's. She was playing nonchalantly with Snowy, not paying any attention to the background screams of a prisoner. She ordered her subordinates to find out any information they could before going to the mountains.

Not long after, came the vampire which was responsible of torturing and finding out information from the captives. "Master, they were the scouts' main army. They came to find out what happened to the two groups that haven't come back from their patrol."

"That's good. It means they have no idea that we are attacking them, nor that we took the swamps already." With a grin plastered on her face, she took Snowy to the captives. She ordered them to line up, then the undead immobilized them.

"Snowy, I want you to kill them and level up. You'll also get a prize if you do it~." Emily wanted a companion that would be able to fight and kill if the need arises. It would be worthless to keep her just for cuddling in a world where power is everything.

*Bark Bark

Showing that she understood, she dashed towards a goblin, jumped and bit his neck, tearing his veins and arteries. The goblin couldn't do anything because he was incapacitated by the undead. He first thrashed a bit, then gave up and was waiting for his death.

They managed to get 200 prisoners from that battle, the majority being orcs. They were strong and lucky enough to survive the water and lightning magic combination. Thinking that they would be a burden on their expedition, Emily decided to give them all to Snowy as she thought it would be better to make Snowy helpful than to just get some additional XP for herself.

"Snowy reached level 8 after all the XP she got. Though she's not powerful enough yet, I'm sure she will be of great help in the future." Emily put all dead bodies into her inventory, and they marched towards their next destination.

It became colder as they were going east, and snow was falling more frequently. Soon they reached the mountains with just snow everywhere.

"Scouts, go check out for enemies and come back as soon as you find anything." While they were waiting, Emily further trained and played with her white furred companion. Snowy understood that if she did as her master ordered, she would be praised and given some snacks.

The scouts came back pretty fast, as there were no giant trees obstructing their vision. They managed to find the mountain goblins and trolls' camps. Emily's forces were lucky as the Ice trolls were in a canyon of sorts, that gave them the advantage of terrain and the possibility for a surprise attack, while the mountain goblins just made some camps higher in the mountains.

The ice trolls were resistant to pretty much all physical attacks and could be damaged with magic only. The mountain goblins were similar to the rest of their kind. They were weak to anything with the exception of their numbers.

"The goblins are always easy to win against, the actual problem is the trolls. Hmm... We'll take them out first, then the goblins." She placed the mages near the edges of the canyon from both sides and ordered them to attack one enemy at the same time in groups of 4-5. When she gave the signal to attack the fury of spells fell down wave after wave on the poor trolls.

*Waaargh! Waagh!

Before they could understand what happened, they were already dead. Emily handed the troll's children to the undead to look after, and then they went after the goblins. She divided her forces in two groups to take care of the goblin camps faster. While going from camp to camp, one of the groups spotted a cave in the mountains. They didn't dare to go inside and just sent one of their scout with a message to Emily.

"Interesting... While the army is taking care of the goblins, why won't we inspect what's inside that cave, right Snowy?" Snowy just stared at her master, tilting her head to one side, as if asking, 'I don't know what you're talking about. How could I know?'.

"I guess you can't understand everything I say yet. Let's go." Emily signaled for her to follow.

*Bark

Emily took Snowy and 20 recently made blood warriors with her just in case. Five of those warriors were trolls. They had paler skin compared to when they were alive, wearing red blood armor and giant blood clubs or maces.

When they were going to enter the cave, they spotted a pair of eyes glaring at them from within. Shortly after this pair of eyes appeared, emerged another one, then another. In the end, an entire swarm of eyes was glaring at them.

"Oh, f.u.c.k..." Emily used light magic trying to blind them, thinking that cavern and subterranean monsters usually are weak to strong light flashes. Though her plan turned up fine, the monsters got enraged and started to roar ferociously. The blood warriors surrounded the cave entrance, ready to strike whoever or whatever come out.

Suddenly, a furry, ape-like 2 meters high monster came out. Emily recognized him as a yeti. They were monsters that lived in the mountain or other cold and snowy terrains and had nearly total immunity towards magic attacks, being pretty powerful themselves at physical moves.

One of the trolls swung his club, crushing the yeti. This just further infuriated the rest of them, as they started to attack in a group, all at once.

Thanks to this, the trolls just repeatedly swung their clubs killing a lot of them, while the other five blood warriors that were of some normal height species targeted the monsters which managed to get out alive through troll's barrage of strikes.

"That's the power of strategy!" she thought to herself. Emily took them further into the cave after all the yetis were killed, where she found their children. She took them and went to check how the army was doing.

When she reached the meeting point, she ordered them to make camp in a goblin tribe and wait for further orders.

Throne room in the Monster Empire.

"Emperor Orgug, we've got no news from the entire scouting force after they went to investigate the disappearance of two groups. I think that humans finally found this dungeon." said an orc king while kneeling.

"That's good, we'll have a chance to test them and ourselves. I've had enough of waiting for our forces to increase, and my bones might get rusty at this pace, too." said Orgug. He was an 2.5 meters high orc with bulking muscles and savage features. Most of his body was in scars, injuries he had sustained on his road to become an emperor. Now that he got what he fought so much for, the humans came to take it all.

'Like hell I'd leave it be. Prepare to die, weaklings!' he thought, enraged at the thought that someone invaded his territory.
