"The tourney will start in three days, so all the participants manage to enroll. Then, depending on the total number of participants, we will organize the battles every day until 64 people remain. We will make 64 groups, and from each only one participant will remain. Then the battles will be one on one, within a random order. I will talk with our Queen Emily to reward the four last participants of the tourney with something, and maybe she will allow us to organize a festival after the fights. Most likely she will accept this, so give your all when fighting. Is it ok with you? Are the rules to your liking?" Glukz asked Ecna one more time, while the crowd became agitated. Organizing a festival meant fun and booze, exactly what Cavetown's citizens liked the most, together with fighting.

"Yup, it's ok. We've got nothing against and even look forward to it!" said Ecna, then turned towards her subordinates which were at fault. "Put your swords back in the scabbards." she said, glaring maliciously. The three men didn't dare to say anything and did what they were ordered to.

"Follow me, I'll show you where your dorms and other necessary facilities are." Kamra said going forward, after looking with disgust towards the three men. Ecna saw the look she gave them and was really frustrated.

'Ahhhh! Why would they react like that, for f.u.c.k's sake?! They are members of my special group, and we have done so many missions together before. They always listened to orders no matter what situation we were in. I'll show them what insubordination towards a higher-ranked officer means at the training!' Ecna thought to herself. She understood why they couldn't maintain their calm, as she was agitated, too. But she still controlled herself, unlike them.

Kamra first showed them the house they will live in. It was a simple one made with the help of the earth magicians. It had ten small rooms, one for each, a kitchen, a waiting room and a toilet and a bath. Thanks to the research in making the sewage system they managed to accommodate the whole town with water, and hot water one at that. Though, for hot water they still had to use fire stones, so they usually filled a bath with cold water than made it hotter using firewood for a fire under the bathtub. It wasn't as comfy as life on earth, but it was like heaven for the monsters that lived their whole lives in the wild. The rooms also had a bed made with materials they got from the local fauna, and even pillows stuffed with feathers from the local birds.

"This town is named Cavetown, but this must remain a secret from the outside world. Everything you'll see or hear during your stay here must not be told to anybody, and you are restricted to talk about it even between yourself once you get out of here." She said while walking towards the training grounds.

"As you were called here with the intention of showing your skills, your dorms are near the training grounds. It's up to you how to use the training grounds. Just remember not to mess up the regular training our men go through. You can also train with some of our men instead of our group of ten, though they must accept it. Between, no killing is allowed. We are here to train and become stronger, not to kill our comrades. Most of the time you will have to train with us. We will half our training's time because of the tourney, but after this it will continue as planned originally."

They came there at the time of a training session. The goblins were training together with the kobolds, as their fighting power was somewhat similar. They both got instructed by Baz and Snen, and had to first run three kilometers, then three minutes of push-ups and three minutes of sit-ups. Next, they had fights one on one, a goblin fighting with a kobold. Of course, all their weapons were blunt as to not kill each other by accident during the training.

The most interesting part came after the one vs one fight, the fight group vs group. It wasn't a fight between small groups of five or ten, but all the goblins participate in the training against all the kobolds. Of course, their numbers were more or less the same, or it wouldn't be an honest fight. The losing group also had certain punishments, like cleaning the training grounds after the fight, a harsher training the next day, and the like. It was done so they wouldn't slack off during the training, and so they would want to win no matter what.

The group passed through the training grounds when the fight group vs group took place. As they all were melee fighters, all were using swords only, without any ranged fighters. There was a life magic user present at all times during the trainings, meant to prevent any possible deaths.

'Wow, I've never seen kobolds and goblins fight this orderly. They are using several tactics and weapon styles. It's really incredible! They could fight against a human battalion with the same numbers and actually win...' thought Ecna and Henry at the same time. They were the strongest in the group, both being in the late B grade, while their other comrades were mid B grade.

"Kamra, can we wait until the training ends? I want to see what kind of training they have..." Ecna asked, her eyes shining as if a puppy's.

"Of course, that's the last battle before their training ends, so let's wait here a little." Kamra wasn't angry at Ecna, as she did nothing wrong at all. She was disgusted by those three subordinates, though. Even with all Emily's laws, the people were still afraid of monsters, humanoid or not. It will take years until that discrimination will actually disappear, and even though she understood this, she couldn't leave their actions be.

On the other side, Ecna's group were attentively watching the fight. The both groups were commanded by Baz and Snen, as to sharpen their commanding abilities, too. Though, they were allowed to command only without directly entering the fight. Also, if one of them were hit, it would be considered as a lost fight. Both Snen and Baz were one of the greatest fighters in their races, but they were too inexperienced when it came to organizing their subordinates. When they fought in the dungeon, they had the advantage of better equipment and sudden, unexpected attacks.
