A Villainess's Struggles

Chapter 16 - The Villainess Isn't a Loner!

I stepped into my grade 3 class and sat down in a chair near the front of the classroom. I came just on time and most of my classmates were already here.

Oh no...I don't recognize anyone in here...

It seems like people have already formed groups. I'm not the type to talk to a person first so I'm kind of screwed...

Olivia and Angelina are in another class together. Anna's with her other friends in a separate classroom.

Somehow, I ended up alone. There are only three classes of my grade this year, what were the chances of me ending up alone?

The teacher came in and introduced himself. Looks like my teacher this year won't be as strict as last year. The problem is, his first assignment to the class was a partner project. We had to make a short skit about what our partner did during summer vacation and introduce them to the class. Sounds fun for someone who has lots of friends. Everyone's discussing about who to partner with and before I knew it, I was the only one left.

Seriously? There's an extra person?

"Hmmm, I was sure that we had an even number of students" said the teacher.

Hey, double check next time!

Suddenly the classroom door opened and a boy with hair covering most of his face walked in.

"Sorry teacher, I'm late due to traffic" he said.

"Traffic? It's fine. I'll mark you late, please sit down in the empty seat" replied the teacher.

So there was an even number of people...And since I'm the only one left, wouldn't that mean I would have to partner up with this guy?

"So what's your name, the student that just came in?" Asked the teacher.

"My name is Allen" responded the boy.

"Okay Allen, I just assigned the class a partner project. You will be working with the girl over there" said the teacher as he directed Allen to me.

I awkwardly waved my hand at him and he nodded back. He doesn't seem like a bad person so far...

We were told to start our projects in class today and get it done in two days. I moved my chair near Allen's and sat down.

I said, "H-Hello, I'm Natalie..."

"Oh, I'm Allen." He answered.

This is so awkward!!

I was never a good talker so this is really difficult for me! What am I supposed to talk about with him???

"So...What did you do during your summer vacation?" I asked.

"I went to London" Allen responded.

"Cool...So what did you do in London?" I continued.

"I went to the Tower of London" he replied.

He gives such simple answers ughhh...

"I see, during the summer I visited the library often" I said.

"Do you like books?" Allen suddenly asked.

H-He asked me a question! Is this an accomplishment?!?

"Yes, I tend to enjoy novels with themes such as reincarnation and romance" I answered.

"Really? I like to read mystery novels" he said.

"T-Then have you read 'The Lost Mansion Key' before?" I asked.

"You read that before? I read that too, it was quite enjoyable!" He responded.

We talked about books for a long time. I'm so glad to have someone to talk to about my novels hehe~

I think I'll be able to make friends with him. We have similar tastes after all!

I sat with Allen during lunch since Olivia and Angelina's class were doing a picnic outside today. Anna was with her other friends that I don't know the names of so I didn't want to go to her.

"Hey Allen, have you ever thought about cutting your hair?" I asked.

"Cutting my hair? I haven't, I only cut it when my parents tell me to" He replied.

"So your parents don't tell you to cut your hair until it grows super long to the point that your bangs cover your mouth?!" I said.

Allen looked surprised and said "Yeah, how'd you know?"

I was kidding but I was right?! Maybe I'll become a fortune teller making billions! I wonder what the requirements are for one to become a fortune teller.

"I think you should cut your hair. It'll make you look more friendly since people can see your eyes. Speaking of your eyes, how are you able to see through all that hair covering your face?" I questioned.

"I got used to it..." He mumbled.

"How about this, you can come to my house after school tomorrow so that we can work on the project. I can also get you a haircut there. One of my maids is good at hair cutting" I suggested.

"Okay, I'll ask my parents tonight" said Allen.

"Then that's the plan~" I replied.

I don't think Allen was a character in the comic. Looks like I made a friend! I am actually really good at this! I didn't think I would be able to make a male friend too~ I wonder how Allen would look like after he gets his haircut. He's probably going to be handsome since this is a comic world. I remember reading comics where the male lead cuts his hair and becomes the most popular guy in the school.

I wonder if Allen has any other friends?
