A Villainess's Struggles

Chapter 35 - The Villainess Reveals That Day

I told Anna and Olivia that I would be eating lunch elsewhere. Anna asked who I was going to eat with. I tried very hard to avoid answering that question. I simply told her that it was someone from the student council. She probably thought I was going to eat with Allen. If I tell her that I was going to eat lunch with Blake, she might start suspecting me of betraying her.

Since I didn't bring lunch today, I would have to eat with Blake in the cafeteria. I don't know if Anna brought lunch so I'm kind of scared since she might catch me. When is her one-sided crush going to end?

Fast forward to lunch time. When I said that I would try to avoid the chance of Anna seeing us two, well, it didn't work out the way I wanted it to. Right now I'm sitting in front of a smiling handsome boy and it seems as if there are sparkles around him. It took approximately two seconds for Anna to notice us. She looked a bit surprised and maybe a tiny bit sad.

I waved my hands at her trying to signal her to come over to me. I then whispered to her,

"I'm collecting information for you, remember? We're eating lunch together because of student council. I'll tell you anything I learn about him later, okay? I have no interest in him, I promise!"

Anna made a relieved expression then started to cry a bit. I was a bit shocked.

"Natalie, I thought you didn't approve of me to be with Blake but I guess I was wrong this whole time. Thank you so much" She smiled with tears in her eyes.

Uh, no worries, I already disapprove of him being with you? Please note that we are still fifth graders. Anyways, I'm happy that I didn't destroy any friendsh.i.p.s.

Now, the boy that's smiling in front of me looks somewhat confused.

"What's wrong?" I asked.

"You just made a girl cry" answered Blake.

"No I didn't...More like you did" I said.

"What do you mean? I didn't say or do anything to her though..." He asked.

"You won't get it..." I mumbled.

"Anyways, who's going first? We're both talking about Allen anyways" I said.

"It seems like you want me to go first so why not" He smiled.

"Okay then..." I replied.

"Our relationship isn't very complicated. Maybe a bit actually. I don't know if it's okay to tell you this but since it's a deal I'll go through with it. You know I have an older sister right?" said Blake.

"Yup that's right, I heard that she's going to take over your father's company since she's doing very well academically" I responded.

"To sum it up, my father wants her to marry Allen" He sighed.

Huh? What?! It's not April the first though???

I stared at him with a blank face.

Allen never told me this?

"You look very confused. This topic was just talked about recently so if Allen never told you about this, it's not his fault. It might be hard for him to process this. Allen's family can't really refuse this as it would benefit their family a lot" said Blake.

"H-How do you feel about giving your older sister to him?" I asked.

"Are you stupid? Of course I will never give my sister to Allen" smiled Blake.

For a second, the mask that Blake wore fell apart. My eyes widened and I was shocked. It looks like his sister is very important to him...?

"To answer your question, I don't want to be close with Allen until this whole engagement thing is cancelled. Is that good enough?" asked Blake.

"Y-Yeah...I'll tell you why I'm not talking to Allen now...?" I answered.

This is a lot for me to process. I've never met Blake's sister and I don't know how many years older she is. I have nothing against marriages with large age gaps but Allen and Blake's sister? I don't know how I feel about this.

"So during summer vacation, I visited Allen's home and I met his mother. We were talking about her house until she suddenly brought up having a daughter like me. Like you said, the stupid me decided to make a joke about how I can't be her daughter unless I marry her son. That wasn't the part that made it awkward between us though" I explained.

"Pfft, that's just like you!" He laughed.

"H-Hey don't laugh, it's not my fault okay? Accidents..Accidents happen... Well anyways the source of the awkwardness was what Allen said before I left" I replied.

"What did he say?" Blake asked. "Also, thinking about it, both of our topics are related to Allen's marriage" said Blake.

"That's right. I'm just going to quote on what he said that day" I answered.

"He said, I wouldn't mind marrying a girl in the future if it's you" I said as I felt my face burning up.

"Woah, is that similar to a confession?" Blake said as his eyes widened.

"I believe there are no motives in it, probably just because I'm a close female friend" I said.

"Hmm, would you mind marrying him?" asked Blake.

"If I answer this question, you have to answer another one of my question, okay?" I said.

"Yup, that's fine" smiled Blake.

"I don't think we are suited for marriage. I only saw him as a friend for the past few years" I answered.

"My question for you is... W-What's your favourite type of sweets?" I asked.

"That seems to be a very random question. It sounds as if you're interested in me but I believe you somehow forced that question out. Anyways, my favourite type of sweets currently is white chocolate" Blake replied.

Okay, done! Information collected.

"Thanks for talking with me today. See you in class later" I said as I got up from my seat.

"Mhm, see you in class" He waved.

I then left the cafeteria thinking about a lot of things...
