Beyond The World Plan

Depth in the forest, I watch my surrounding while hiding my presence as best as I can. I currently on quest to raise my rank. Even though I not really need to be adventurer but master ordered me to became one because he want to reshape my ability.

This quest supposedly easy, killing 20 goblins is not a problem for me. The main problem is my 'extra task' that was given by master. He want me to kill them wothout alerting other goblins. It's something that hard to do since they are move in group. And at least one of them are a scout that very well hidden.

I continue to work out my brain thinking the solution. I must found the scout first if I really want to do this. They are fast and hard to catch up. Moreover, their ability to hide themself are above normal human. It's already a long time since the last time I use my brain. I choose to rest a while before I met them.

Under a tree I sit while checking my bag. This bag is small and will not able to contain a big thing. Master gave me this before we were leaving the castle. Even though I just know master for a while, but I am sure he is a great person.

Master told me his story yesterday. Just hearing it I already knew that he is someone who you can not understimate. He is young, just 16 years old human who just leaving his child phase. Yet, he is a genius who is thinking out of my reach. He has killed many high level monster not just using brute forces but also using his mind, thinking and using everything around him as a weapon.

One of the story is when he fought an iron scaled salamander, an A-Rank monster who born with fire skills and get a very hard skin by evolving, even a mythril sword can't scrath it skins easily. This is the reason master and Lily-sama become an A-Rank adventurer.

To killed that monster, they must go to a cave located at the slope of a volcano in the middle region. It cost around two weeks to get there with a carriage but they manage to cut the time into 10 days going straight through the forest.

Before they get in they realized something. They had a very large disadvantage because of the temperature. They could not fight too long or they will dehydrate and that's the end for them. Because of that, they were analyzed the area before have a battle with the salamander.

The volcano around the area seems to be active so the earthquake often happened around there. The reason they concluded that because the structure around the cave was unstable. Many cracks and holes could be seen with b.a.r.e eyes. They tried to hit the cliff and some rocks were falling to them. This was enhance the number of the disadvantage they had but knowing that, he made a strategy to turned the disadvantage became their ace weapon.

Once facing up with the salamander, they were not wasting their time. Even though they knew they could not pierce it skin easily, they continue to attack. Not using physical attack, but with magic. They succeed to deal damage to the salamander and at the same time, the trajectory of their magic continuesly hit at the same places. As the result, they manage to burried the salamander's body and easily deal the final blow easily.

While thinking about that, I open the bag. I could not see anything inside the bag. Master only gave me an empty bag, that is my first thought. But I didn't hurriedly believe my own eyes. I try to put my hand in the bag since there is an item called magic bag. It's a very expensive item to have because the using of <Space Magic> is rare. If you think logically, master will not hand a very valuable item to their slave. But as I thought, it's a magic bag.

I can feel some items inside, such as rope, a knife, some sheets of cloth and several bottles of potion. I take out the potion to make sure what kind of potion is that. The potions divided in several small pouch. Each pouch contain ten bottles of potion. Health and mana potion also antidote inside the bag. However, there are some potion that I haven't seen before.

The first one is potion with shining blue colors. There is a little note goes along with the pouch. 'Not for drink', that's what written here. I try to open it and pour several drops of the potion to the ground. In a second, the ground where the potion fell to freezing. I didn't believe my eyes so I try to touch it. It's cold, it's a real deal. I never any potions heard any potions with freezing effect like this. I hurriedly close the potion and put it back to the pouch.

The other one written with 'Do not open it, just throw it.' line. I do not know what it is but better do as what written here. I open it to see what inside the pouch and found grey-colored potions in it. I move to the next pouch.

This time with strong white-colored potions. It is say 'Shake and Throw it, don't let your eyes see it'. It's pretty weird if you think about that. If I can not see it then I will not know what it function. Well, better tag along with those rules. These potions maybe a good weapon for emergency so I need to mark this pouch. Come to think about it again, better to mark the others too so I will not wrong pick the potion. I mark the potion with magic so I will know which pouch that contain the thing I need.

After marking the pouch, I continue to search the goblins. Fortunately for me, not too far from where I rest before, I found a group of goblins heading this way. It's 19 in total that I can see. At least there will be 2 as scout so it will be 21. That's not enough but better than nothing.

I try to locate the scout but as I thought, I can't find them anywhere. I am sure the first time I make a move, the scout will escape to warn other goblins. This is a problem for me. I can not rush right now, I must keep hidden until I found the scout. I will follow them first, that's the best decision. However, they got me first and attacking me. That damn scout, where I can found them.

I hurriedly take out my bow and pull the string. The arrow appear in the bow and ready to launch. Releasing the string and kill a goblin. Not wasting my time, I moving from that place and try to getting away from them to making a distance.

At that time, I catch a glimpse of the scouts. One....two....three, there are four of them. They try to alert the other goblins. I in hurry pull the string and launch the arrow. Hit it! One down, three to go. I sense a danger from my back and without realizing, the goblins already behind me. This is bad, I will get caught by them.

I reach my bag and search for the pouch that contain freezing potions. 'Found it!' I throw three bottles of freezing potions to them while continue to chase the scouts.*Crack*, Something's breaking. At the same time I could feel a chill from my back. I peek behind and found the horde of goblins become ice statue. They didn't move a single tip inside that frozen cage. They were killed because of freezing. Looking at it again, seems like three is overkill. Leave it there, I must kill those scout first.

I aim where their shadow move and manage to kill another one. Two to go but this will be not easy. After killing the second one, one of them change the direction to me. It seems like they want to distract me from following them. As if I will let my task failed. I avoid the approching goblin, reach my bag and randomly throw a potion. I do not know what kind of potion I throw away because this scout goblin has quick reaction.

The goblin that I avoided before took out his dagger and rush to me. I do not have enough time to avoid this one because the momentum in the same time as I throw the potion. I am in disadvantage since it turn to be a close range battle where an archer weak against this type of battle. The goblin look at me with triumph face when he hit me and somehow I feel annoyed looking at his expression.

At the same time I can see a bright light coming from where I throw the potion. I turn my back to the light, not letting my eyes meet them. Everything around me covered with the white light. 'Just what kind of potion I threw before?' The question appear in my head while covering my eyes from the light.

After a few moment, the light disappear and I open my eyes. I look around and found the scouts laying on the ground. Yes, that's both of them. I look over the goblin that attack me before and found their eyes open without catching any light anymore. Is he dead? I approach it and check his breath. It still breathing. I pull the string of my bow and kill the goblin with the same expression when he wound me.

I approaching the other one who try to escape the battle. It is still moving after hitting the ground I think. He manage to stand up and straighten both hands forward. As I thought, the light before can blind people, it means the one I throw before was the ehite-colored potion. Seriously, what kind of potion it is? I move to front of him, keeping the distance from his hands. I want to know how long it will last.

After one minute, his eyes gradually recover. It means the blind effect just a temporary and not the permanent one. I am glad that was not something that can take my eyes forever from seeing. Still, it's pretty dangerous if someone do not know how to use it. I immediately kill the goblin at his place. I drop my body to the ground to catch my breath. Looking around and seeing what kind of mess that I just made here.

"That was unexpected but I think you pass my test."

I can hear a familiar voice from above and see master sitting at one tree branch.

"I didn't think you will use those potion for this task. I think you will keep it for more dangerous task." (Ray)

He jumped down and approaching my body and give his hand to me.

"If I not using those, I will never pass and will become a burden for you master."

I reach his hand and he pull me to stand up.

"That's good to know you are not an egoist person. You know, many of adventurer didn't use any kind of help because this is a G-Rank quest. Good job, you are F-Rank now." (Ray)

"Thank you master."

He smile to me and take out another sheet of paper.

"Sorry for asking this but, how long you are watching me?"

He scroll the paper and give that to me while chukle.

"Who knows. But looking at your performance before, I hope this will help you out." (Ray)

I open the paper and see the goal of the quest.

"Kill 10 wild boar? Is there any extra task that I need to do?"

"You got me so fast. You must kill them on one on one battle. It means, you must face them directly." (Ray)

I know that will be another weird task he will give to me.

"Alright, I will do right away master."

"Wait, Cecil." (Ray)

Just before I leave, he stop me by calling my name.

"Yes master, do you need anything else?"

"It's lunch time so you need to take a rest. I will cook for you." (Ray)

"Wait master, let me do the cooking."

"No need, you have fought well so you must be tired. I will cook something that will recover your stamina. Just take your time." (Ray)

"Y-yes."

I answer him at a low voice. I feel bad for master since I am the slave here. Making master do that by himself make me feel bad. But I can not defy his word since he is my master. The food is ready and I eat it silently while looking at master's cooking.
