Blood Emperor's Lazy Doctor [Hiatus]

Chapter 25 - Rude Awakening

Upon, drying her hair, Yu Shi walked out. She no longer looked like a beggar, but a sweet little maid. One whom would warmed your heart, obedient and sensible. And yet, she was anything but that.

She was after all an orphan the kind doctor had taken in. Not obtaining the palace training which official servants undertook. Caused her skills to be mediocre whist retaining her rough personality.

And yet, that was what made her so lovable. She had none of that falseness but more of that brutal honesty. Doctor Wu's eccentricity helped keep all her natural charm. Seeing as how the old man hated womanly schemes and their femme fatale ways.

Yet she had this one fatal flaw. A love for all things cute! That addiction of hers would always get her into the most awkward of circ.u.mstances. Leading to predicaments which would cause any woman to blush in shame. Proclaiming loudly, 'What shamelessness!'

'Where did Doctor Wu go?' She mused as she looked around, but couldn't find heads or tails of him. Walking into the open, her gaze fell onto the lump laying on the bed.

Placing a hand on the cushion, she leaned over, taking a peek at the pouch savior. She couldn't deny that she was very cute. So small like a fairy. Only if she wasn't so skinny to the point of bones, she'd be perfect.

Looking left and right, a crafty grin on her face. Taking the opportunity she climbs the bed over to the pouch savior.

She really was too cute, too adorable, too hug-able! She just wanted to poke and prod. Just a little should be fine right?

And so that's what she did. Poking here and there. Then rubbing her smooth cheeks.

AH! She internally screamed. She was just too cute, too soft!

She had now begun pulling at her skin tight cheeks. Which unfortunately she hadn't watched her strength and was pulling quite hard. Red had begun replacing the pale skin beneath her finger tips. Yet she hadn't noticed a thing.

Doctor Wu had walked into this scene. Shock was an understatement to the expression which was oh his face.

Why was this?

Well it was because his maid was straddling the child!

Assaulting it even!

He had just left for a mere five minutes to grab another bottle of wine. Recalling how there was some in the kitchen for cooking.

Just five minutes and what was his maid doing? Ai, he didn't know what to do with his maid. A bit of sympathy passed through his eyes.

He was just about to stop her when the unthinkable happened.

Yu Shi who hadn't noticed her masters arrival, was having the time of her life. She was in heaven! The little fairy child was satisfying all her 'adorable' fetishes. Now all there was left was to kiss the cutey all over.

She was leaning down to give her a wet one, right on her forehead. But right when she was three inches away, Hong Luo's eyes flew open.

Poor Yu Shi who was stuck in heaven was in for a rude awakening.

A few dozen lights spawned around her body as she was sent flying with a boom! Leaving a sizable hole in the wall where the poor maid went flying out.

Hong Luo had always hated being woken up. To the point where her temper was at its worst. Disregarding who it was, she'd send them flying to the stars with her signature explosion skill. This was why, if you were not a professional, than you best not even try.

Unless you have a death wish, than by all means, wake up the sleeping tigress. She'd love to have you as her breakfast.

[Amateur.] Inside her space, Little Soul shook his head and lit incense for the poor fool.

Even he had to be careful of waking his mistress, let alone some little maid that had eaten a bear's heart and leopard's gall.

Hong Luo licked her lips. Comfortingly curling to the side.

Little Soul sighed. This little monster hadn't woken up at all! That attack was instinctual to the point of being scary! Ai, his mistress was always such a pain to wake up. Least he has his secret weapon, which conveniently bypasses her scary instinct.

(Author's note: Let's all give a bow to Lord Stinky Vial! May his smell remain forever, because without him. The monster's fangs and claws would hurt our precious Little Soul.)

Doctor Wu shook his head, walking back over to the sleeping tigress. The little fellow had another knot between her brows. And so he took it upon himself to relieve some of the stress.

Not much time had pass. Hong Luo's heavy eyes were slightly fluttering, as if moments away from waking.

To her surprise there was something rubbing against her lip in a rhythmic motion. Perhaps it was too ticklish or because of the habitually hunger Nuyun had ingrained her. She had, in her dazed state, taken a bite out of that mysterious something.

While still in her daze, a deep aged voice helplessly reigned above ear. "Is this old man tasty? Hadn't thought this old man's thumb turned into this month's new delicacy."

Shocked, Hong Luo instantly sat up, looking at the strange old man in front of her.

Squinting her eyes and raising a brow. Why does this old fogey seem familiar? Can't be a patient, if so she'd remember instantly.

Yes, Hong Luo's memory was horrid. She'd forget you even if she'd only met you a few hours before. And yet, only ones she'd remember are her patients and those who've saved or helped her in some way. There are no exceptions to this rule. Even long term friends are forgotten until they satisfy the status quo.

Then... She thought about it and thought about it. Until a light went off in her head!

Yet despite this light, she was still quite perplexed...

Titling her head, she grabbed his beard and pulled. "If you remove this bush, you'd remind me of a fellow that once patched me up a time ago. Why is that?"

"Are you his father?"

"His uncle?"

"His extended cousin who is also his uncle, but is referred to as cousin?"

"Very much elder brother?"

"No can't be brother. Not unless your mother got extra power in her bun making capabilities. That or she's a cultivator."

She titled her head to the side once more, not noticed that slight emotional wave of disappointment hidden in the old man's eyes. She was just too focused on that beard that made no sense to her.

"No, this old man was indeed the one who helped. Just hadn't grown out the old face warmer yet." Losing his warm smile. Scowling, he scolds. "Why haven't you taken better care of yourself? Looking at you, even I, this old man can see more wounds added to the pile. Even if you think yourself strong. One must have the capabilities first, and the state of mind to know, when enough is enough. Else, forget being strong. Sooner or later you'll become much weaker than you started do to reckless behavior."

Blinking her eyes, trying to comprehend his words. Confused at first, but soon realization hit her. At the time, when the man helped her. Instead of stating the truth she opted for the latter.

Feeding white lies didn't seem to hurt. Well, didn't hurt anyone but herself.

Instead of blaming her father's 'family' as she should have. Words of independence came to life. Stating how she was honing her skills, strengthening her body. All in hopes to find her parents that vanished from her life.

In truth, this wasn't a lie. She had wanted to do this, strive to be better than what she was.

But what was she to do? It was so difficult for someone like her. Being a child didn't help much either, limit knowledge was a downfall waiting to happen. That is if she'd ever attempt that path.

Scratching the back of her neck, she giggles awkwardly. "Indeed, I may have been too harsh with myself. You live in learn. And I've learned my mistakes. I've learned my faults." Slightly laughing, she continues. "I've learned a lot actually, so much indeed. Doubt I'll ever find myself doing something stupid like that again."

Balling up her fist. She won't let anyone take advantage of her again. Using her as a punching bag, as a beaten up handkerchief, rung too many times which caused rips of frustration.

Maybe, she'll turn that white lie, that childish goal to reality?

Well, maybe if she can stop being lazy, then just maybe she'll give it a go.

Words from the author...

The story won't update as much. Possibly only once a week from now on.

This does not mean I'm dropping it. Nope not at all. Heck I'd write it until my fingers bleed but lately my brain has other plans.

First you should know, I have an attention problem. ADHD to be precise. You will either have all my attention, or none at all.

Now since I have this little problem, this second novel I've been planning out for months, has taken nearly all my brain power. Leaving little room for 'Blood Emperor's Lazy Doctor.'

But once my brain has been satisfied, I'll be able to resume constant updates. Even adding Saturday and Sunday into the schedule. Whoop Whoop!

As for my second novel, I may or may not leave you a teaser or a summary. Still debating on which title to use, but that'll soon be just water under the bridge.

Any how. My darling readings. It's time to enter a love hate relationship. This m.a.s.o.c.h.i.s.tic author shall take in all your abuse! (Don't hurt me too hard, I have a fragile heart.|‸눈;;)
