Dawn Of Twilight

Chapter 29 - The journey begins

"Especially things that would keep them away from their research. Not to mention that for an academy warlock, it just like a bachelor and a father who has children keeping the nature of their research a secret is much harder. That it's is when compared to the rest of the academies, but in comparison to Divine Moon academy with its deep foundation with its extraordinary funds from the academy, though warlock hates having to share their research. In front of Divine Moon academy, they are all rather servile."

After listening to the Vampire Ancestor Lucian, these kind of of news reassured Tobi.

"Divine Moon it is, then. When will the journey start?" Tobi recalled that Horus once stated that the academy was located in a hidden enchanted large pocket world. Even if it was just for an audience, he would need to travel very far.

"My Lord, I think it would be best you meet Horus instead, Considering that you'd first have to meet a Headmaster, and then you have to take your admission exam, I'd say it best you see him first. He'll probably be willing to tell you a couple of things, that's for sure."

Tobi found it difficult to understand. Even while Lucian explained all that he said.

But since he was already off to start, Tobi preferred to ask Horus in case he missed something important, instead of flaunting his ignorance, destroying the chance to gain extra information.

Seeing his conflicted expression, the Vampire Ancestor completely misunderstood the situation.

"Don't worry, my lord. It's just the admission exam. You will get the opportunity to say goodbye to Horus. The academy will not start before a few months. You have plenty of time to settle all your business."

Tobi thanked him with a light bow.

"Please, my Lord don't thank me yet. I hope you'll accept this as part of my apology."

He handed him a communication bracelet, very similar but also different from all those he had seen up to that point, with the fact that it had four skull rune on it, right on its center.

"To mark it as your own, just send some mana into the bracelet."

Tobi did as instructed, on the enchanted and the skulls rune lit up like they had become scorching hot, exaggerating the skulls facials.

"To exchange your contact rune, you just need to make the person next to you send their mana while they are activated." Both the Vampire Ancestor Lucian and Tobi exchanged their Mana, the moment their exchanged Mana touched his rune got a chain reaction on Tobi's bracelet.

The Vampire Ancestor Lucian bracelet was completely covered in skull runes already, to accommodate the new one, all the other runes shrank in size, just enough to leave enough space for another of the same dimension.

"There's no limit to the number of contact runes an enchanted communication device can hold." He slowly explained.

"This will help you get in touch with me easily, as well as the other Sovereigns and might serve as a means to locate you in case of dire situations. It will also make staying in touch with Horus easier." He gave him a little box, holding a second amulet.

"Only one person can activate it. So, it best Horus imprint it with its Mana as soon as possible, my Lord."

Tobi thanked him sincerely, that gesture had taken a huge burden off his shoulder. He had explicitly and officially offered to act as his backer, and thanks to the enchanted bracelet he would be able to get help easily if necessity arose.

"I look forward to seeing my Lord, attend the academy. Here, this is some material you can study and revise that entails a few things about the academy."

The Vampire Ancestor Lucian gave Tobi a few small books, the first was about the field of studies, while the last one was about school maps. Tobi took them all avidly.

"Those are highly confidential. You are not supposed to show them or discuss about their content with anyone outside the academy, my Lord."

The Vampire Ancestor Lucian said with a smile, in return Tobi gave his most heartfelt ȧssurances.

After discussing for a few more minutes, the Vampire Ancestor Lucian bid Tobi farewell, as he left.

Since there was still some time, before the academic year. Tobi spent some time reading the books Vampire Ancestor Lucian had given him, as well as planning for the future and such.

The month before his adventure to the academy, Horus did a small private banquet just for the two of them.

That day Horus went all out, as he made sure Tobi ate until he was bloated. He didn't know whether to laugh or cry.

Despite how happy Horus seemed, he still cried like Tobi was about going to a war.

"Oh, Young master. Promise to write for me every single day." Horus sobbed, hugging him strong enough to squeeze the air out of his lungs.

"Seriously, Horus. Firstly, we have the communication bracelet, remember? And secondly, do you really want me to write a letter when there are enchanted teleportation circles?"

"Of course not, Young master. Call me as soon as you have a second or minutes to spare, this old Dragon-lion.

"Remember, young master. If anyone should try to bully you, just shout my name. I Horus Lord of the skies, shall burn them all into oblivion, and don't forget Young master, no matter where you go you will always have a family and a home right here." Horus's cheeks streaked with tears, his voice impressed with brokenness.

"Far? Horus, between using your speed and the academy, you are bȧrėly far from its hidden dimension."

Tobi was both moved and sad, by Horus's feelings. Every word made him realized, how lonely he really was without his family by his side.

Tobi left home through a Teleportation circle and for the first, he was both dizzy and excited.. Only when the teleportation circle had transported him to God knows where did he start sprinting forward as he observes his surroundings.
