Fate's Reversal: The Divines Return

Chapter 95 - Brewing Storm (2 of 2)

Nodding, Nathaniel Graham's face became slightly solemn as he gazed at Donald. His eyes spoke bounds about the actions he took. He believed this movement was the initiation of a series of events ultimately leading to a checkmate.

"Correct, I have passed on my family's ancient practice. Our way of utilizing the mind was always unique. Us beings who sought to master ourselves. The methods in which I had sole access to have been bestowed upon that lad. My family is gone, however, that doesn't mean our substantial history shall be forgotten.

"What's more, with his potential he is progressing rapidly on his own. However, not only is he advancing himself. He is in turn honing those who surround him. Moreover, it seems his potential has yet to be fully liberated.

"That name he chose—Unsheathed. It suits him. I don't regret my actions. I look forward to seeing what he can achieve while forging his own legend. Perhaps he will be the one to restore those rightful things."

Through certain methods, Nathaniel redesigned, no, manipulated the code of events that took place in the system. As a result, things happened entirely too early or unexpectedly. Being the first to choose Liberation mode, Kaiden already appeared on his radar. Moreover, the title received for that was also an abnormality...it had no distinction to its growth cap! Meaning, there was the possibility of surpassing the titles the 8 entities received.

Furthermore, Nathaniel Graham although a being withdrawn from society—was another enigma. He was the one who stood on par with his "brother"; beings of pure power. But that was the problem he stood on par. There would be no victorious side in a battle between these brothers. However, Xavier had an advantage—numbers.

On Xavier's side existed 8 entities whilst Nathaniel only had 4 Divine Prospect experts when counting himself. This was the reason he bided his time; he needed to wait for potentials to grow into their strength. Meaning, he would be overseeing the protection of individuals who had caught his attention.

"Then Chairman, how will you protect him?"

"Perhaps, I'll send some monitoring in the real world. Don't worry everything is already taken care of. However, inside that game world...it is best he faces immense adversity. It seems he is a gem who can only be forged through pressure—with the subtle guidance I have given him, he should be able to succeed..."

"What if he is unable to, Chairman?" inquired Donald.

"Then he is simply not the one and I will have to take matters into my own hands."

"The one? What exactly does this mean Chairman?"

Donald's expression became nonplussed. He was unsure what the Chairman meant by these words. They seemed to have a deeper meaning than he himself interpreted.

Gazing straight into Donald's puzzled eyes, Nathaniel smiled.

"The Child Ordained By Fate, my young protege."

"The Child Ordained By Fate? I...I don't follow."

"It is ok, one wouldn't understand what a Fate Ordained Child is unless they stepped passed the Divine Prospect Realm. You have a long way to go." chuckled Nathaniel.

"Ahh…

"Wait! What about SIGMA, Chairman? What will we do? I don't think it is smart to let those 8 Divine Prospects roam free inside the game."

"SIGMA? Do not fret. Let things play out how they will, TACT is already performing the task. Have faith in Charles; after all, he is the smartest human to grace the earth at this moment. Instead, why don't you perform another task?" chuckled Nathaniel. .

"What is it, Chairman?"

However, as a response, Nathaniel just chuckled as he shifted his head to the side.

Back inside the game, in the Red Star Mansion, WarCry's expression didn't ease one bit. His nerves were still as taut as a few minutes ago. Currently, he waited as the screens of the video calls connected. However, he felt as if he was in the presence of a silent beast with TerrorAssault standing across the room.

Even BlatantSage was a docile cat as this man stood there. No one attempted anything lest their precious effort towards leveling be wasted. TerrorAssault didn't seem to be in the best of moods. With a low chime, the system interface changed slightly as 4 faces appeared on the screen.

They were First Outlaw, HorizonBreak, Mother Lover and another unfamiliar face. Looking at each other, there was an awkward period of silence. It wasn't often that outside of a mass gathering they would be called by a guild leader higher up in the Titan's Grasp.

"Ahem, you four. You are the guilds within Crescent Wake Town that exist under the Titan's Grasp. We have a task!"

"What is it?"

"Arrggh… a task?! Fuck...I have thing's to do." grumbled First Outlaw.

"Err, it's not a large one right? I hope not." sighed HorizonBreak.

"Hahaha! I hope we are going to fuċk something up!" cackled Mother Lover.

Surprisingly the only one who was enthusiastic about receiving a task was MotherLover. While the unfamiliar face was relatively lax about the situation, a lack of emotions present.

This was Nighthawk, the Guild Leader of the Sky-grade guild, Night Corps. A special organization that specialized in covert information gathering. However, this man seemed to be slightly on the younger side with sharp piercing eyes.

"You will need to ȧssemble your guilds. Including the members who aren't in the guild. This task is rather fun...I should say." evilly chuckled WarCry.

"What is it?" asked Nighthawk once again.

"We will be storming Ethereal Conviction. We have received orders to stifle their growth and limit their momentum."

"Hmm, that's the guild who has been appearing in the announcements quite often. I can see why we have been tasked with this. Very well.

"We're storming!? So to speak...you mean we're gonna fuċk em?! Haha yes! I just wanted a piece of that guy! Ahahahahah!" madly cackled MotherLover.

Being an oddball, MotherLover was quite an unorthodox fellow. As a result, disgusted faces and an awkward silence took place as they shook their heads.

"What?! Don't look at me like that...I just mean we're gonna fuċk him up. That's all. I am not gay! Don't look at me with those eyes!" scowled MotherLover.

"Whatever you say...weirdo. Back to the task at hand. You will need to gather all your available members. We will leave no opportunity for them to recover. We will aim to completely annihilate what they have achieved."

"Haha! Never mind, this sounds so much better than my other tasks. Destruction is always fun. When will our mission begin?!" chortled First Outlaw as his eyes gleamed with madness.

"Four hours. That is how much time you have to gather your people and report back to me. Failure will be reported higher up the chain...I'm sure you don't want those consequences." declared WarCry.

However, throughout this whole ordeal, HorizonBreak was the only one who remained relatively quiet. His expression held a tinge of apprehension; he was slightly torn. He had experienced the strength of the Guild Leader a few days ago. Although his use of his body wasn't at the Hyper Intuition Realm—he was strong.

Moreover, HorizonBreak was the weakest amongst this bunch. His strength had also yet to step into the Hyper Intuition Realm. If so he would have been a step closer to being qualified to become a new Tyrant. Moreover, his guild could obtain the opportunity to step in the Sky-grade.

"That is all."

Ending the chat, WarCry turned to TerrorAssault whose expression remained indifferent.

"Is 4 hours a good choice?"

"It's up to you. I'm just here to make sure the event happens in a sufficiently thorough manner."

Saying his piece, TerrorAssault took a seat as lounged languidly.

"With that being said, I will be here until it is time."

Nodding, WarCry looked over the rest of the people located in the room. They were part of the reason Warhead Syndicate was an Overlord-grade Guild. There were certain requirements to complete to hold his title.

"Guild Leader, we are receiving information that most of the Ethereal Conviction guild is leveling the Crescent Gale Valley in small teams. From the looks of it, they should be situated there for a while." spoke a middle-aged woman.

"Excellent. You three may also move out."

Nodding, the conference room became scarce as only BlatantSage, WarCry and TerrorAssault remained. However, the town became vibrant with movement. The catalyst had been fully cultured.

….

At the same time, Kaiden once again traveled deeper into the Biting Wind Canyon. Now that his agenda was relatively empty, he simply focused on the need to level up. After all, he was only 4 levels away from the minimum level to increase his tier to the 2nd level.

'Those Aquafrost Pythons are good practice targets. My familiarity with my Sphere of Influence has improved slightly.'

Stomping hard, Kaiden shot forward at breakneck speeds as he sprinted deeper into the leveling field. However, little did he know as he moved deeper into the field, a massive gathering of players were mobilizing toward his guild mates, preparing to wreak havoc.
