Fate's Reversal: The Divines Return

Chapter 96 - Chills of the Unknown

As Kaiden rushed deeper into the Biting Wind Canyon, he began to stifle his steps. His heart was palpitating yet he couldn't understand why. In fact, he looked forward gravely, a recurring thought kept ȧssaulting his mind—perhaps there was a presence here which didn't belong. Furthermore, as his feet proceeded...his worries increased.

'What is this feeling? It's as if a boulder is being pressed on both my shoulders and ċhėst simultaneously…'

Clutching his forehead with his left hand, Kaiden shook it. He was attempting to clear the worries from his mind yet they just remained. No...they augmented. Halting his steps, he turned back and looked towards the direction of the town. With a sharp gaze, he scrutinized what could possibly be nearby causing him to feel like this.

However, even releasing his Sphere of Influence...he felt nothing!

'Something isn't right. I can't ascertain what direction this feeling is coming from.'

Unfortunately, the sensation was actually an enigma. There were two reasons he was feeling this way and he would soon understand why. In fact, instead of understanding, he would once again drown in the river known as despair but would it really break him?

Clenching his jaw, Kaiden once again turned back toward the direction of the Biting Wind Canyon. However, now...he proceeded slowly; his eyes filled with caution.

….

"Guild Leader! We have gathered 800 of our members. Will this suffice for the operation?" inquired FierceKitty.

"I think that will suffice. If the other guilds gather similar numbers… Even if I feel sorry for what's to come to that poor fellow."

Rolling her eyes, FierceKitty placed her arms under her ċhėst as she pouted.

"Hmph, if you ask me...that ȧsshole deserves it! I hope he gets what is coming to him and learns some respect."

Silently looking at Fierce Kitty, Horizon Break contemplated if this was a correct move. He had this feeling in the pit of his stomach—there was a foreboding feeling consuming him. In fact, it was even worse than when he participated in the Mass Guild gatherings.

Inside the Red Star Mansion…

"Guild Leader WarCry, we have alerted over 2,000 members of our Warhead Syndicate. They are currently venturing to our position as we speak," informed Pale Wind.

However, unlike usual, her head was held down the entire time seemingly intent on her clipboard. Be that as it may, it wasn't the truth. Rather, the reason she didn't remove her eyes from the clipboard was to avoid that gaze of TerrorAssault who was lounging behind WarCry. She couldn't handle the intensity of his eyes; they made her feel a rage seep into her.

"Good. That number will do well," chuckled WarCry as he glanced toward Pale Wind.

Blatant Sage simply sat there inspecting the room. He realized that Pale Wind had yet to lift her head and presented a crooked smile. This little tadpole couldn't even stand the pressure of this guy sitting there. However, he didn't speak as he wasn't in a much better situation. The difference between a Titled Titan Expert and Tyrant Expert was like heaven and earth! There was simply no comparison.

….

"Where are my Outlaws dammit?! Whoever doesn't get here now...I will fuċk your sister! Try me if you want to be NTR! I swear I have a mighty tool. Do you want to see?! AHAHAH!" cackled First Outlaw.

His words were truly unruly. However, this was the atmosphere of his guild—they were rogues who behaved in a similar fashion. .

"Haha! Joke's on you I already got to mine." chuckled a Captain.

"Hah! I got to yours also! And man was she delicious! Aghh, I want her right now!" cackled another.

"Hahaha, we have 1,100 of our idiots together. We can wreak some havoc today."

As this raunchy conversation took place, the waves within the town were growing in magnitude. People with identical guild tags, black cloaks, or no guild tags at all, closed in on the confines of the town.

"Mmm? Damn…. Hurry up! Hurry up! HURRY UP! You idiots are delaying me from fuċkɨnġ this guy!"

"Sir! WHAT?! You mean to say fuċkɨnġ him up, right? countered a slightly mȧturė looking woman as she approached Mother Lover.

"Oh yes....sorry! Ah hah you know I only love mothers. In fact, come, come let me get a good taste of you baby!" cackled Mother Lover as his hands made grasping motions in the air.

Slapping his hand away, the lady smirked. "Maybe later. Right now we need to gather the others."

"Hiehiehie! OKAY. What is the count?"

"Right now? 700 people. We shall see if we can gather...let's say 1,000 of our mongrels."

"Good good, and then we get back to our own task." chuckled Mother Lover as he lasciviously licked his lips. His eyes undressed the last standing before him who matched his fetish—Milfs.

"ASSEMBLE MY WIZARDS! Ahahaha."

….

"Guild Leader Nighthawk, we have gathered 1,000 members as well as the Night Raven Company. In total we have… slightly over 1,200 of our members participating currently." informed a black-cloaked slender man.

"That will suffice, we aren't here to use all our resources at once. The Night Raven Company will be enough. Don't alert the Night Shadows." responded Nighthawk.

Tapping his finger on the desk, Nighthawk leaned on his hand. This operation was turning out to be of a larger scale than he previously thought it would be. He estimated at least 6,000 members will be participating and that was a conservative estimation.

"Unfortunately, this is how the Titan's Grasp operates, young man. If you don't abide by its policy...it hunts you."

Looking into the distance, Nighthawk shook his head. He was sure today would serve as a catalyst for many events. It was the first massive conflict between guilds in <World's Destiny: Redemption>.

….

Reaching the Aquafrost Pythons once again, Kaiden brandished Angurvadal and the Garkin Blade whilst activating his Sphere of Influence. As he slew each Aquafrost Python with abrupt strikes. He proceeded to move deeper into the Biting Wind Canyon.

These monsters were still no easy target all at once, however, he managed. On the other hand, as he advanced the Aquafrost Python's level slightly increased. At this point, they were Lv.66.

However, that wasn't what caught Kaiden's eye. As he proceeded forth, there was a gleam in the corner of his right eye. Shifting his head diagonally, he stared up the canyon's icy walls. There was a golden radiance emanating from the cliff up above. Moreover, the gleam was slightly intense—it was a Gold Treasure Chest.

'Oh, a Treasure Chest? It's always fun to open those. However, that one is...quite high."

Rubbing his chin, Kaiden glanced at the Aquafrost Pythons. He had to deal with these first or he would have no chance to acquire that Treasure Chest.

Health: 3,734,000/3,734,000 (100%)

Attack: 5,830

Defense: 6,465

Skills: [Freezing Venom], [Ice Shards], [Cold Sheen], [Ice Armor], [Frozen Wall]

'They have an additional skill?'

Sharpening his gaze, Kaiden lowered his stance as he spread his arms wide. Kicking off his back foot, Kaiden became a whirlwind and he used short steps to shift directions as he executed abrupt slashes.

*TING*

Pointing his sword behind his head, a clunking sound was heard as something struck against Angurvandal. Shifting his head to the side slightly, Kaiden looked at the remnants of the Ice Shard falling toward the ground.

'Using their projectiles already?'

As the stacks of Burn compiled, the Snakes began losing health at a rapid pace. The initial minuscule amount became huge. Every monster had a certain resistance to monsters.

'Burn doesn't affect them well but it's viable.'

His burn damage was ~40,000 damage. However, on the snakes, he only dealt 22,000 per tick. The Fire Resistance was quite high. Nevertheless, this was bonus damage that was being dealt while he attacked. Therefore, any damage was helpful.

Protecting himself while attacking, it wasn't exceedingly long before he cleared the python in his proximity—approximately 3 hours.

Walking towards the canyon, Kaiden placed his hand against it. The ice was compact and not soft at all. It could serve a good foundation to make footholds. Drawing his hand back, Kaiden delivered an abrupt jab to the wall.

*BANG*

His hand made an indent approximately 4 inches deep which surprised Kaiden. Based on his Strength, he estimated he could at least get up to his forearm inside. However, the environment of Sanctoria was sturdy. Certain thresholds needed to pass in order to change the landscape of the world dramatically.

'At least there's no worries about its sturdiness.'

The cliff seemed to be at least 100 meters high. It wasn't a distance he could reach in one bound. As such, Kaiden swung his arm powerfully.

*KRRRRK*

Angurvadal impaled the ice above until its hilt at a height of 40 meters. This height was a feat he could perform at this moment. Repeating the movement, he also swung the Garkin Blade. However, its pierce was a lot more shallow. In fact, Kaiden frowned slightly. He had yet to find any materials on par with whatever was used to forge Angurvadal.

Sprinting, Kaiden placed his foot in the indent as he kicked off the foot. As a result, he shot into the air at a rapid speed. Grabbing the hilt of Angurvadal, he performed a flip as he stood crouched on the blade.

Looking upwards, he gazed on the corner of the cliff. However, his expression was slightly bland. He didn't have many expectations of the Garkin Blade.
