Whoo!

A thick book flashed before my eyes.

It would have hit my head coolly if I hadn’t pulled my body back.

If you look at the thickness, it is obviously a law book.

It’s even hardcover.

At least I’ll get a concussion if I get hit in the head with something like that.

I’m glad my body is moving well.

Louis’ movements were also quite slow compared to Leon’s.

The opponent is the boss of the main story in the very beginning. It was quite weak to handle the difficulty.

To the point where I feel bad comparing it to Leon, who drew his power.

In fact, Leon was hiding his powers at this point, so at first glance, the balance seemed to be right.

Thanks to this, I had room to draw Deathwise while avoiding the hardcover attack.

At the same time, the sky beyond the barrier is also getting darker.

However, I didn’t pull Deathwise out.

It is Leon Hilfenberg’s job to defeat Louis Lepersha.

However, for some reason, Louis is in front of me instead of on the top floor of the Minenbar library, where he should be.

I don’t know why, but things got messed up thanks to it.

There’s no way Louis will let me go just by looking at him swinging a book at me.

At this point, the rate for I escaped as if nothing had happened, and the chance that Leon, who cleaned the Minenvar library, came down and defeated the waiting Louis— practically 0%.

But I don’t like it because I’ll get unnecessary attention if I knock him down.

Because it is Leon’s role to solve the Minenbar Library occupation.

I want to live a peaceful life, and I don’t want to get involved in all sorts of strange events in the main story.

“I guess you’re good at avoiding it?”

“You said it was a reading group. Can you swing a book?”

“There are many ways to use books.”

“Well, it can also be used as a pot stand.”

“That is unacceptable, right?”

So I can’t use books as pot stands, but you can use them as weapons. Isn’t that a double standard?

In contrast to my slow whisper, Louis attacked me with a fierce attack.

Still, he didn’t shut his mouth.

“Do you know what’s in the basement of this Minenvar library, Hoobae?” (t/n: 후배 means junior.)

“….”

“It’s a forbidden book. It is a tomb that seals all books designated as forbidden for some reason. It’s not known why the book was forbidden because it’s confidential, but I do know. The kingdom is limiting its knowledge to maintain its rule. I, we cannot tolerate such tyranny. I’m going to liberate the treasury and spread the knowledge to everyone. So don’t disturb me.”

Without being asked, Louis started to explain himself on his own.

It is also an essential element of the game that many NPCs, including Villain, talk about what they want and say it alone.

“When I was playing, I could even skip important lines, but now I can’t even skip them.”

Wouldn’t it be great if there was a skip here too?

I know it’s because of the narratives that the villains are talking to themselves, but—since most villains are like that, who would have thought that I would hear a monologue in real-time?

Anyway, what should I do with this monologue?

There is no sign of Leon coming down. Considering the time, he must still be cleaning the upper floors, and it takes another ten minutes for the Bachelor to arrive, as reported by the escaped hostages.

I tried to look for the answer.

A method immediately came to mind.

“It’s annoying, but I can’t help it.”

I kicked the ground to put more distance between myself and Louis.

As my fast breathing slowed down, I put my hand on Deathwise’s hilt.

“What can’t be helped?”

In the same way, Louis steadied his breathing and then put a hardcover book in one hand and a leather glove in the other. It was a connected pattern that would lead to a hardcover attack if caught in gloved hands.

It was only a short moment to relive old memories.

I know it’s normal to answer a question when someone asks. However, I pulled Deathwise instead of talking.

Whoo!

It was 5 meters away, but I only had to take one step to close the gap.

I did it, but I didn’t. Because it was purely Deathwise’s ability, it’s not like the attack on the wooden doll but more like a temporary buff.

There are only a few buffs related to the physical ability that has such an immediate effect and are so great. The fact that I cut down the wooden doll yesterday is definitely worth the name of the demon sword.

“Cough! Cough!”

Louis, whose liver had been attacked, knelt down in his place and coughed continuously.

When I aimed the sword at his neck to stop him from doing anything stupid, he finally caught his breath and looked at me with teary eyes.

“Failed student… How, how…”

Actually, it’s not that I’m strong, it’s just that the demon sword is strong.

That’s what it is, of course.

“Tell them Leon Hilfenberg took you down if they ask who did this to Senior.”

When Louis heard the one-sided notice by me, he frowned.

“Why, why should I do that…?”

“If you don’t, Senior will be in trouble.”

Instead of answering, he laughed dumbfoundedly. Well, if someone tries to say something like this out of the blue, it’s normal for them not to understand. And it’s not like I wanted him to understand in the first place.

It’s enough just to give credit to Leon. Louis doesn’t have to understand this fact, and I don’t have to give the right reasons.

It’s just enough to give Louis a reason why he has no choice but to do it.

“I know you’re a spy.”

At that moment, Louis hardened.

“The reason Senior took over the library is to use the forbidden books stored in the forbidden vault to cause chaos in the kingdom. The benefits to the Karmut Federation from this are astronomical.”

The Karmut Federation, which is in conflict with the Kingdom of Tekat, sent Louis Lepersha as a spy. The strange group called the Non-Discrimination Reading Society and the occupation of the Minenbar Library were all part of a spy operation.

It’s a fact that will be revealed after quite some time in the main story, but— I immediately thought of it when I saw Louis’s face.

If I can use it, I should use it from time to time.

“You…”

“If I report it, the knights will come and take the senior away.”

It’s obvious what will happen to the spies in the enemy’s country.

Louis has no choice but to obey me if he wants to live.

“Do you want me to follow you if I don’t want to be reported?”

“You just need to say that Leon Hilfenberg did it.”

Now that the conditions have been set, it’s time to step back. If I keep dragging it, I’ll run into the bachelor of the academy. I went to the library’s front door so I wouldn’t be late.

“Let’s not see each other’s faces anymore, Senior.”

There was no answer returned. Sometimes silence was a positive answer.

A German shepherd full of fur walked into the Minenbar library.

Eight students followed a man with black hair into the library. The German shepherd, who was sniffing, walked up to the man with black hair who was leading them.

The Estero Academy student council members are the only ones who can wear this brooch.

Robert Hunter, who was the secretary of the student council, stroked Shepard’s head, which had stopped by his leg. He rolled his dark eyes over his glasses and looked around quietly.

“…What a mess.”

All of the black robes that were on the floor passed out. One male student was conscious when they took off his robe, but he couldn’t move because he was clutching his stomach.

It was a normal student.

It sounds like a specific organization with a clear command line did it. Although it was revealed that the organization was a non-discriminatory reading society based on the testimonies of students who had already escaped from the scene, Robert carefully checked the facts and approached the only conscious man.

“3rd year Louis Lepersha.”

“Student council secretary, is it?”

Louis looked up at Robert.

Robert Hunter’s character is shown by how cold and blunt he looks and how his angled glasses peek out from under his straight, 5-5 bangs. Then Robert moved the student council members with his chin without a word.

They moved quickly and began to tie the people in black robes who fainted.

“Why did you try to take over the Minenbar family?”

“For the liberation of knowledge.”

“I’m asking the motive.”

“Ha… even if I explain it, you can’t understand why because you only follow orders.”

“…Is that so?”

He has no intention of denying it. In fact, the question was just a formality, and he’s not really curious because this interview was just part of the process of dealing with the incident as an executive of the student council.

If Louis wants to use his right to remain silent, all he has to do is move on to the next question.

“Then who beat all of you?”

Robert’s question made Louis think deeply for the first time.

“It’s Leon Hilfenberg.”

“…The 1st yeat student?”

He is a student who doesn’t stand out much. To the point that Robert, the student council secretary, could only remember his name. Rather, it was a name that Robert wouldn’t recognize if he weren’t a secretary.

The first-year student beat both the third-year student and the enemy group.

No matter how he does it, it must be true that he is hiding important skills.

‘I need to confirm it.’

While Robert gives the name Leon Hilfenberg weight, the shepherd starts barking at the front door of the library after smelling Louis.

Woof! Woof! Woof!

“Francis.”

Robert called Shepherd’s name and turned around to look at the main gate, but no one was there. Robert patted Francis on the head to calm him down.

The faint smell of another person who helped solve the occupation of the Minenbar library, which Francis could smell, just faded away.
