Overcoming The Beast

Leon reached near the top. He felt the strong flames and invincible heat reach him. "Truly are worthy to be called the Holy Flames." He opened his mouth and s.u.c.k.e.d in a clump of flame. Using the little amount of Nine Thrones soul energy and formless energy he controlled the flame and stopped it from spreading through his body. He then used it to sizzle the soul book seed in his soul sea.

Leon then climbed down slowly during the night. Cultivating nine throne soul technique all the way down. He used the energy to further reinforce the soul seed. Making sure that no energy reached his other soul book.

By the break of dawn Leon finally reached the bottom. He collapsed on the floor and took deep breaths. "The lecture should be about to start. I might as well go there." Leon just laid on the ground for a while.

Now when the sun had thoroughly risen Leon reached the site of the lecture. It was the same as before, he didn't think much and sat where he sat before and went to sleep.

The teacher walked on stage it was a young man "Hello everyone I am Ignatius inferno, I will be teaching you summoner cultivation."

"Lets begin! cultivation is broken into two parts one is self cultivation while the other is beast cultivation. Self cultivation is the process of absorbing soul energy using soul techniques to cultivate the soul books while beast cultivation is the process of absorbing elemental energy with beast to grow stronger."

"The Flamesmith clan has the three petal flower soul technique which all members have access to. I'm sure many of you have already started practicing it." Many of the disciples nodded.

"Soul books when formed are of the normal grade, using soul techniques you can cultivate them to higher grades such as rare and epic." He then started chanting. A book appeared out in front of him. "This is a soul book, as you can see by the abundance of runes, this is of the rare grade."

Many of the kids started talking.

"I heard the Clan head also has a rare grade soul book."

"I think rare is highest."

"He just told us there was an epic grade."

"I wonder what it looks like."

Seeing the kids were enthusiastic he continued "Soul techniques also create the pages of your soul book that capture beast. Each soul technique has a rank from one to six which is usually the number in the name that indicates how many beast pages you will be able to form practicing the technique."

"But I'm sure you all can see my soul book clearly has more then six pages. Well the truth is soul books have an infinite amount of pages. Ancestors have studied the soul book for many years but research has only led to little discovery, it has been assumed that we have only unlocked one percent of the soul books potential." He smiled and said "I hope some of you grow up to help reveal the truth of the soul book."

Someone raised their hand "Sir you said that the number indicates how many beast we can summon, so does that mean if we practice the three petal flower soul technique we can only summon three beast?"

"Well no you will be able to summon four beast. Three contract beast and one primal beast. Primal beast I'll talk about in a minute. You will be able to form only three contracts. You can later practice other arts but you will have to start all over again. This usually seals the beast into the soul book until you are able to form a contract again."

Another one raised their hand "How do we get better techniques."

"That will be hard to do, one way is to rank up to an elder rank in the flamesmith clan and you will be able to get the Five petal rose soul technique which the three petal flower soul technique was derived from. Or if you are talented enough you could become an elder of the inferno clan and gain the six flames soul technique."

"Now primal beast are the beast born form your soul. Primal beast are the only beast you can summon no matter what. They are said to correlate to your talent in the elements. If you are talented in fire you will summon a fire primal beast. Like me." He said another chant and a swan like beast appeared next to him "This is an Inferno Swan, a four orangestar beast."

"Beast are ranked two ways one is through stars which is a measure of cultivation. Where ranked by star colour, which is a measure of strength, from weakest to strongest the scale goes redstar, orangestar, yellowstar, greenstar, bluestar, indigostar and violetstar. The colors correlate with the cultivation of a summoner such as red is equal in strength to a summoning apprentice. orange is equal with summing scholar. Then they are given a sub level form one being the lowest while nine being the highest. These levels correlate as well."

"The other way is to measure their talent. This is done by using Voidstars. The higher the costars the higher the talent of a beast. Such as this swan is a four VoidStar beast." Seeing the unimpressed faces he added "To become a clan elder you will need a three Voidstar beast." Some of the kids were then impressed.

"So Now let's get to the most important part of the lecture self cultivation. Summoners have cultivation of summoning apprentice, summoning scholar and summoning teacher."

"To rank up in cultivation you have to absorb energy and simply use it to expand your soul sea. The bigger your soul sea the higher your cultivation. Now that will be for today go home revise every thing I said."

Everyone got up and left it was five minutes after all the seats were empty that Pace walked up to the sleeping Leon. "Leon wake up you have to go home."

Leon rubbing his eyes yawned and got up "I was having a good dream." He saw Pace "brother Pace how was the lecture, very informative right."

"You would know, you were sleeping throughout the whole thing."

"Relax I already read about cultivation in the library I already know everything I needed know. So I'm going back home to sleep. Good night."

Pace stood with the sun high in the sky wondering what to do with his little brother.
