Overcoming The Beast

Chapter 36 - BloodSea City

The Beasts and young boy made it through The forest and reached an intimidating wall. It was tens of meters tall, made of a black stone.

At the gate Leon donned his hood and mask. Unsummons the beast. He didn't hide his hair or eye colour. Although unusual for a small town for a big city it wasn't uncommon. He assumed that Pace should know that he would be arriving. And Pace was the caring type; he would send people to find Leon if he don't arrive soon. Luckily Leon had walked faster then expected and made it here a few days early.

Leon paid the guards a toll of three gold. He then walked into the city. The city was dark and barely lit by the street lamps lining the black streets. The streets were vacant.

"The bloodsea city is known for its emptiness." It is said that the city is so big that even though it's population is high it is almost impossible to find a crowded street.

Leon turned to see a silhouette in the clouds. As the clouds parted you could see It was a enormous medieval castle. Built in dark hardened stone. With multiple towers of different height and an eerie red cones shape roof. It was like a shadow that oversaw the city.

That should be the rulers of this city the Bloodling Clan; that will be my main stop after I get a few things done.

Leon found an inn to stay at. It was called the Heavenly Leaf Inn. In such an empty city it was never crowded. He easily payed for a few days and went to his room.

After changing and showering Leon went down ordered some food, ate and then left.

Pace should be at the Flaming Tavern. It was owned by the Flamesmith clan. So you would find many of the members who came to blood sea city live there. Leon didn't want to live there as he felt it would be to restricting.

He had recovered so he didn't need the Blood ginseng anymore. Plus he didn't have the money either. The inn wasn't expensive so he used the gold his parents gave him for the trip.

Leon walked around the city. The city was nostalgic as he had lived here for while. You could say he hid in plain sight for a while. It worked for a few months until he finally had to leave.

Leon went down an alley and changed his appearance, he then walked towards a run down building. The building was five stories tall and looked old. It had broken windows and cracked walls. It somehow still supported itself.

In one of the floors was an information dealer. This dealer wasn't even close to the best and barely had customers but he was someone close to Bly Bloodling.

Entering a run down bar. It had only two men in the corner talking and with the bartender wiping the counter.

Leon went up to the bartender and took out a bag of gold coins, he acted as if he was weighing it as he waveed it in front of the bartender. Leon said, "I'd like some... you know, the juice. I'm not really in the mood for a drink. I just want something non-alcoholic."

The bartender raised one of his eyebrows, "oh you want something non-alcholic. This is a bar we don't serve juice but I think I know what you want, go up stairs the third room on your right. That's where you'll get the 'juice'."

Leon got up and dropped the bag on the counter and went up the stairs.

He entered the room. In it was a table with a single candle that lit up the whole room. On the other side of the table sat a chubby man with a cigarette in his mouth. He held a book in his hands and waited until Lin Feng to sit to close it.

The man said, "so what do you wanna know?"

Leon replied "I wanna know when Bly Bloodling will leave the city for the Flowing blood forest."

The man looked surprised he thought a bit then said "Anything related to the Bloodling Clan is expensive. How much are you willing to pay?"

"I'll give you a ten thousand gold as down payment and another ten thousand after checking the information."

The man inhaled and then blowed out a cloud of smoke. "Deal. Here." The man gives Leon a round stone.

Leon gave the man the money at the same time. His parents had given him around fifteen thousand gold. He had already spent most of it. He needed to figure a way to get money fast.

The stone like object was a memory gem. It could store information. It was made through the engravement of runes. Leon put the jem to his head. The information flowed through his mind.

Bly Bloodling should be leaving in a few hpurs for the Flowing blood forest to train. His new beast the Blood Spirit Fairy. I guess I'll go now and wait at the gate. I'll follow him around and then I should be able to find it.

After leaving the city Leon walked into the forest. He looked for a tall tree. Climbed up and made himself comfortable. Using Formless presence he hid his aura completely in the branches and leaves.

He then summoned the tiger and Frost snake. The first snake continued to cultivate. While Leon held the tiger in his arms like a toy. They both watched the gate.

Bly is still young, he should be very weak. At least he should have three summoning beast. I know that one is the Blood Spirit Fairy. He should also have the Four winged Vampiric Bat, the symbol and main beast of the Bloodling Clan. The third one should be his Primal beast, the Blood Fiend. A five voidstar potential beast. It should be his strongest card.

Two hours later Bly Bloodling and five other clan members walk out the city.

Leon watched them and waited for them to pass by him. After that he climbed down the tree and started following them.

He kept a safe distance as he followsled them. He could hear them as they spoke normally.

"Young Master where should we go this time? Do you want to go to the east and fight the Organ Slimes again?"

"No, my Blood Spirit Fairy hates fighting those grotesque things. Let's go to the west I heard there is a Blood wolf pack that is protecting the egg of a four voidstar beast, the Blood Drinking Wolf."

"Very well Young Master." He then said to two of the people in the group. "Go scout ahead and make sure the information is reliable." One man and One women both summoned a Blood bat and rode them westward.

Leon had been following Bly to find a beast. This wasn't the Dream beast for the tiger rather it was a new beast for his team.

Although he hadn't reached the third throne of the Nine Thrones soul technique. So couldn't contract another beast. He was close to leveling up as he kept training through the journey in the Desert.

It was also the fact that he had to make sure to get the beast before Bly. This beast was a beast Bly had found in his past life. It was a small Blood Sparrow. A three voidstars beast normally but this one was special.

It had evolved it into an Evil Bloodmoon Crow the last time he saw it.

With it Bly was able to rise up to Summoning Master and the Blood Sparrow had gone through two major evolutions and transformed into a Evil Bloodmoon Crow, a seven voidstar variant beast. It had become so famous and was known for its blood manipulation ability.

Normally a beast with this potential and almost nothing outstanding compared to the Frost snake and the now Pink-Flame Serpentine Tiger. It was actually lower in potential. The Frost snake had Dragon blood while the tiger and tail combination were turning into a beast of unlimited potential. Evolving into a seven void star beast was nothing.

Leon had barely seen the beast in person in his last life. He had mostly heard about it as he stayed in the city. But there was this one time he had seen it in a public competition. At that time it was still a Blood Sparrow.

The competition mainly had beast averaging five orangestar strength. While the Blood Sparrow itself was only a Five redstar beast. The difference was enormous. However it had never given up. It fought until it fainted and even though it lost the first fight. It had inspired Leon to try harder.

He was still young and easily moved. Seeing such conviction had allowed him to try harder. The personality of a beast mattered a lot. Many low level beast who worked hard can evolve to stronger beast. A low level beast that worked hard was as good as a high level talented beast.

The sparrow was destined for greatness. Bly was an awful summoner. Leon didn't want such talent to go to waste. Plus out of all the beast he could remember, thinking of evolution paths, this Blood Sparrow came on top. He had the perfect way to form a machine of mass destruction.
