Overcoming The Beast

Chapter 50 - Going out with the Training Team

Leon unsummoned the King Crystal Blood Sparrow and left for the Flaming Tavern. The city was now more crowded as many of the people had returned, while others had called in more clan members.

Leon entered the Flaming Tavern. As he did Pace was in front of him.

Leon was a bit surprised "Pace you are fine. When I heard the island crashed I came here as quickly as possible. When the earth shook I though it was an earthquake Not an island crashing!"

"Yes I'm fine Leon. We got Lucky, Just before the island fell I had all the training team members jump onto StarFire to move to another location. Before we knew it the island left us behind and started falling. Poor star Fire had to carry us all down. She's so tired right now I have her in my soul book sleeping."

Clyde who was behind Pace was excited. "Leon you had to be their the explosion was awesome! The island broke Into pieces! Even the mountain broke..."

Pace stopped him "Yes that is all amazing go get ready it leave." After making Clyde leave Pace said "Leon I was just about to go meet you. You should have healed right? Join us on trip to the Flowing Blood Forest. A rumours been going around the Blood Emperor's Inhertance is somewhere lying around in the forest. Let's try our luck."

Leon was a bit shocked by the whole story of Pace surviving that was lucky of him. Leon whispered "Did you by any chance see a white and golden goat?"

"No, I don't think so. Why?" Pace replied.

"No I just recently bought a book and beast and saw a cool beast that had once been seen with Blood Emperor. Just wondered if you saw it."

"So Pace didn't see the Lucky Goat even he wasn't lucky enough. Was it not on the island?" Leon thought.

"So Leon are you coming?"

"Yes, I would love to come! I have been cultivating for so long this will be some great exercise."

Anastasia came up from behind Pace she said "Hopefully we won't slow you down." Then left.

"You don't need to get ready or anything right?"

"No let's go."

Clyde and the rest came. Even Dwight came, they all left the city together. Anastasia had joined them as well.

Pace said "Everyone summon your Beast before we enter the forest, be ready for ambushes."

Leon was the first to summon his beast he summoned the NetherWorld Frost Snake disguised as a regular one. He didn't use his instant summoning but sped the normal chant.

"Leon you're so fast at summing can you teach me how to do it." Clyde said.

Pace was interested as well. "Leon you need to tell about it as well, I can't summon my soul book any faster then this."

"Sure, so here." Leon then explained some basic mechanics of the soul book and gave them some trips as they walked in the forest.

The others also started learning and everyone improved.

As Pace was about to say thanks Leon shushed him. "I can sense a beast nearby."

Pace concentrated a little and he sensed it to. The Beast Pace had summoned was Fiona, the Fire cat. It had broken into the orangestar level after Pace had used the items he bought from the Blood Moon Auction house. It looked the same but was much stronger.

Clyde had summoned his Ash monkey, Anastasia her Midnight Caterpillar and Dwight had summoned the Fire Spirit soldier. His Flame Elephant was to big and slow to walk with in the Forest. It would just be target.

The others had summoned beast of various kinds. Not strong but not weak either.

"Everyone get ready its approaching." Pace said. Everyone tensed up, ready to attack.

Pace had taken the leadership position casually. Dwight didn't even fight for it. He was way to tired. No one was against it.

A large bear jumped out. It was a Blood tail bear of the ninth redstar level. Leon saw it as a joke. He didn't wait for the others to respond. The Frost snake finished it with a Frost Ray to the head as it sat on Leon's head. It then closed its eyes and went back to cultivating.

Pace was shocked he could also beat the beat in a single shot but he didn't know Leon could.

"Leon did you break into Summing Scholar?"

"Right brother Pace In my cultivation session I broke through. Pretty fast right?"

"Wow, really fast! Your Frost snake is also an orangestar beast. Are you even training your other beast?"

Leon coughed a little and said. "I'm going to start training them soon."

"Leon training one beast isn't good or you'll become a glass canon that will be defeated in after your Frost Snake is defeated."

"You're right brother."

Dwight and Clyde were first impressed by Leon then they laughed when they saw Leon get told off.

Anastasia was thoroughly impressed. As she planned to cultivate the poison element, she still hadn't found a suitable second beast to replace her second Contract with. So she mainly focused on her Midnight Caterpillar. It had barely reached the eight redstar level. Leon had clearly worked hard.

Pace was however the person most impressed. As someone who had all his beast at the orangestar level he knew how hard it was to breakthrough. He justified it on the Forst innate's talent and Leon's hard work.

"Let's go to the Flowing Blood Mountain. Be careful there will be many strong cultivators. If you get into a fight and you can't win use this to call me or any elder nearby." Pace then gave everyone a token.

"Those are communication charms, you can use this them a maximum of three times. remember that."

Although they didn't plan on splitting Pace had given the tokens out in case something happens. They had to be ready.

They reached the foot of the mountain. On the way they saw many large rocks in craters and people moving the rocks around looking for People.

The mountain was in rubble. Leon could see all the trees on it had been scr.a.p.ed off. The foot of the mountain was a mess. There had been a landslide on the whole mountain.

Everyone looked around for a while. They didn't really find much. Other then a few dead beast the beast find was a squished Blood Fruit.

It had reached night and everyone decided to camp.

They set up the camp. With a few tents and a fire it was cosy. Everyone was in a great mood.

Dwight suddenly yawned as he sat by the Fire. Pace seeing this asked "Who wants to keep watch during the night?"

Leon didn't even think and raised his hand. No way was he letting these people watch his back as he slept.

"Leon you want to? okay! Anyone else." In The end Dwight raised his hand.

"Dwight are you sure? You can't fall asleep and you look tired already."

"No I'll be fine. I can stay awake you guys can sleep."

Pace also said that he would watch as well. Everyone else went to sleep in the tents.

Pace talked with Dwight to keep him awake.

Leon was using his senses to the limit. He even had the Frost snake sense around as it cultivated. He knew something was going to happened. The mountain had been destroyed leaving many beast homeless. All of them would come down the mountain, roaming around. Many cultivators were searching for treasures. Among them were thieves, who would see a group children as the perfect prey.

Leon looked up the Frost snake had sensed something. He couldn't sense anything however it could only mean the enemy was at the summoning teacher level.

A purple mist had spread fast. It had appeared almost instantly. Pace and Dwight were out cold. Leon had covered his mouth.

"Sleeping Gas? A poison element cultivator, but looks like they don't have any killing intent." Leon decided to play along. He acted like the gas worked and fell back.

Two men appeared. "This kid has good resistance he was able to stay up for so long."

"He might be as talented as me. Lets see what they have in their spatial ring."

The man walked up to Leon's and said "I think we have a big catch! This kid is wearing a high grade spatial ring, that alone is worth more then a million gold! This kid is probably loaded."

The other thief went into the tents and took everyone else's Spatial ring he also walked out with two kids in his arms, it was Anastasia and Clyde. "I've got the kids. Just take it and let's leave my Harbinger Rat feels like something bad is about to happen." On the man's head a rat nodded.

The other man laughed "My Poison Fog toad doesn't feel anything but sure let's go." The man reached for Leon's spatial ring but as he touched it. A snake slithered out from underneath Leon. It's eyes swirling with black Vortexes.

The man didn't know why but he was paralyzed in fear. Leon got up. The man on the other side walked up behind man paralyzed. He grabbed the man's shoulder and said "Are you okay, why did you suddenly freeze."

The man saw Leon up. Leon looked at the man and said "You have quite the interesting beast there. A mystic element with a foresight ability. Although weak its still a pity it's going to die to day."

Before the man could respond the Blood Sparrow appeared it finished everything with Blood Feathers through all the beast and the men.

Leon had the Blood Sparrow absorb all their blood. He then had the snake drag the rat to him. He picked it up and held it strongly.

"Poor beast, had such a rare ability but died so easily." Leon paused and smirked.

"Is what you would have wanted me to say. If I know your abilities and looks I can figure out your species, Two Lives Rat. I know you are alive."

The rat woke up. It looked at Leon with cute eyes asking for help. It quickly said it was captured and hated the man. It would happily contract with Leon.

"I know, you can stop, it's a known fact that all Foresight beast will only contract with Summoners who will listen to them without question. The fact that that man didn't start running the moment you told him already showed me he forced the contract... that's also the reason you're still alive."

The rat started sweat it could tell something bad was coming with the foresight ability.

"I won't contract you but I know as a beast with foresight you have to keep your promises. I need you to come with me and help in the future."

The rat nodded.

Leon led it hide in his b.r.e.a.s.t pocket. The Beast had already cleaned up the rest. Leon just kept the bodies of the two men and the toad which had been killed in his spatial ring. He picked up Asastasia and Clyde and put them back.

He then went back to the position he was in before this all happened. Leon took out one of the thieves spatial ring. He found the thieves identity using a brown token with a centipede engraved on it.

"They are from Pandora? So they wanted Clyde and Anastasia to join them. Wait... Did this happen in my past life? Were they controlled by Pandora in my past life?"

Leon thought as much a he could. He remembered as much small details he could. But he couldn't tell if they had been replaced.

"Anastasia was most likely killed by Cesar. But where is Clyde. Did he even exist in my Past Life?" Leon started growing skeptical. He couldn't remember anything about Clyde. He couldn't remember anything about his parents either. He would have surely remembered his father, who was the head researcher of the Clan.

"Head researcher?... When did the Flamesmith Clan get a research department?" Leon couldn't find anything in his memories.

"Should I kill him now? No not yet I'll have to see how this goes." Leon took a deep breath. "I have better things to worry about. I'm sure their target isn't me."

Leon stopped worrying.

Pace woke up. He stretched and said "Good Morning Leon...Oh No I slept! I'm so sorry you had to stay awake by yourself. You can sleep the rest of the night." Pace said as the sun rose in the distance.

"I'm fine Pace nothing really happened. A few wolves attacked but I took care of them."

"What wolves attacked, I'm so sorry! Dwight wake up! It's morning."

Dwight jumped up. He looked around. "I fell asleep!" He started going through the same process as Pace.
