Overcoming The Beast

"So who wants to go back to the Clan?" Pace asked.

"I'll go back. I mainly cultivate the poison element. This place doesn't have a poison cave. I'll go back and then find another place to cultivate." Anastasia said.

"I'll come with you, I need to talk to the Clan head and inform him about how the competition went." Pace said.

Hearing this Eos said, "I'll go as well, I want to meet that clan head to. I need to tell him about Master."

Clyde and Dwight seeing that everyone was going said that they wanted to go as well. Leon was the only person left.

"I'll stay and cultivate here. You guys can go." Seeing that Leon was staying, Dwight changed his mind. He decided to stay. Clyde stayed with his decision.

"Clyde and Eos you two should stay as well. This place is great to cultivate in, don't waste your one month." Pace said.

"I want to clan head directly about Master. I also plan on meeting him on the way back." Eos was adamant to go.

"I'll stay then. You guys tell my parents about what happened." Clyde said.

"Leon, when we return you have to take us Griffin capturing." Eos said while leaving. The three then left.

Leon agreed and waved to send then off. This time he agreed more seriously. He didn't plan on taking them Griffin capturing rather other rare beast in the Fire Continent. Pace and Eos needed stronger Beast or they wouldn't make it to the top ten for the national team.

Leon had decided to have Pace and Eos come with him to the National team. The three continental competition was mainly team based. If he had Pace and Eos with him it would be much easier to win challenges then to have new people listen to him. Leon also knew Flint was going to be a member of the National team, he didn't know the others though.

Thinking of Flint, Leon hadn't seen him the while competition. "That means he joined later, was he a substitute?" Leon thought.

"Leon, what did Eos mean by Griffin capturing?" Clyde asked.

"I caught a Griffin on the way back to the Clan, Eos and Pace wanted to capture one as well. So I'll take them to the place I found mine and we'll look for more."

"What you have a Griffin?! You have to take me as well." Clyde said.

"Me too, I need a new beast as well." Dwight added.

"There won't be that many Griffin even if we find any, are you sure you want to come?"

They both nodded. "We'll capture something else on the way! Right Dwight?"

"Right!" Dwight agreed. There were many cities and auction house they could go to on the way as well to find beast.

"Well if you say so. Now let's go back to cultivation." Leon went back to the Blood cave.

The Blood cave was now emptied. All the other cultivators had left for there clan or weren't part of the three hundred. Leon sat next to the wall. He formed the formations again and hid.

He summoned the Blood Harpy and cultivated. He went back to forming the runes for the Harpy. He had entered the deep cultivation again.

The Harpy had its spell book out. The spell book was changing with her. The book had new white lines spread across it. It even had a few Holy spells added by the Harpy into it.

As Leon continued to cultivate, the Blood Harpy would as well. She would sometimes write more spells into the book or just alter older ones. She remembered Leon's advise on the Fairy Queen's Blood Spears and focused on adding that holy element to it.

Leon in cultivation thought about the Lightning Spirit Butterfly. He was saving the Sad Life fruit and the Storm bead for it to evolve. The sad life fruit was a rare fruit. Much rare then it needed to be. It didn't have any strong effects or help beast evolve. It simply made beast sad for a while, people use to use this fruit to make their beast sad and then cheer then up or create a stronger bond. It could also be used to sabotage a Brady's will to fight by making it sad. Leon didn't plan on using it those ways. There were many better ways to do those.

No he planned to use it on the Lightning Spirit Butterfly. The Sad Life Fruit was mainly of the Mystic element. It was a very unorthodox material. Leon had read about the fruit recently in the Ephemeral Lightning Great Library, The fruit contained a miniscule amount of Life energy. Leon planned to extract and have the Lightning Spirit Butterfly absorb it.

The storm Bead was to give the Storm element to it and help it grow stronger in attack. It's attack at the moment was pitiful.

Leon thought of other beast he could capture after thinking about the Butterfly. Other then the Constellation Beast Scorpio which would be the first place prize at the three continental Competition, Leon thought of two other beast that he could contract with soon.

One would need him to go all the way to the Nature continent. It was where he found the Emerald box, Nine thrones soul technique and the pill. As Leon thought about it, he remembered that he had to get that emerald box this time as well.

The beast he wanted was the pink seed he had found in the Flamesmith Clan treasury. That seed would grow and a beast would be born from it.

Leon already knew what the beast would be, it would be a Cherry Blossom Tree Dryard. He would first have to wait for the three to grow and then let the Dryard be born. This would normally take years to happen. This is why he wanted to go to the Nature continent. Over there, an over Lord Cherry Blossom Tree had formed. If he planted the seed next to it would join with that tree and the Dryard would be born sooner and stronger.

The Dryards were strong plant type beast. They usually had seven voidstars potential. This beast didn't have anything too unique or special. It was just the best Plant beast Leon could contract with.

The other beast Leon could contract would be a Fire beast. It was located in the Fire Continent so it was much easier to find and contract. Th beast was called Ifrit. It was a Fire and demon element beast. The Phoenix would take half a year to hatch even if Leon let it stay here in the high level energy area. Leon needed another Fire beast.

It was a beast Leon had contracted in his past life. It was strong and had great power. It was a user of Fire Magic. Leon judged it to be in his top five most talented beast he had contracted in his past life. It was one of the more prominent members of his team. It had survived and died in the final battle.

Ifrit was the main fire beast Leon had cultivated. What really made it unique was the Hell attribute it gained as an a.d.u.l.t. The attribute made its attack more fearsome and allowed it to summon Authentic Hell Flames.

Leon then continued to cultivate in the wall, Hidden from sight. The Blood Harpy was still changing. A week past by quickly while cultivating.

In the week Leon had formed until the nine hundred and ninety ninth rune. He was currently forming the last rune to complete the first level.

The Blood Harpy now had a completely human body with a birds wings. She say and cultivated unaware of her own complete reformation.

Leon formed the last rune and sent it into the runic formation. The runes connected and the formation spun the Blood Harpy.

Leon looked up and saw the Blood Harpy for the first time. He was surprised. She looked completely human other then the large Bird wings it was impossible to tell the difference.

Before he had a chance to see anymore of her Blood energy rose and covered her and the spell book. Soon It formed an egg to evolve the Blood Harpy.

Leon said next to the egg with a sigh, "Well back or cultivating." He could still add runes to the formation even while it was in egg form. It was better If he added more as it would allow the Harpy to evolve more.

Leon noticed something as he watched the egg. The egg wasn't really absorbing energy. It had entered a dormant state, similar to what the chimera had entered because of the Eternal Sleep rune.

Leon put his hand on it and tried to see what the problem was. "It looks like the Bloodline wants holy energy to become that dominant energy in the Blood Harpy but it can barely absorb any from that surrounding."

"The Harpy egg will stay like this until I find some holy element material. This will be hard, Holy materials are almost impossible to get spyware other then the Holy continent."

Leon then went back to forming the runes for the Blood God's Art. It was now much slower process as the Harpy wasn't helping him any more.

Leon got up and removed the formations. He unsummoned the Harpy egg and went out of the cave.

He left the cave and went back to the surface of the island for a change of scenery. He saw the sun was rising and the island was peaceful. He walked around and noticed the island was barren of most species. A few fairies flew around, but they were helpers that took care of the island.

As Leon walked he heard a loud screech of a bird. He tuned to look and saw a Peng flying towards him. The bird saw Leon and flew down to him. It landed in front with Pace and Eos jumping off.

"Leon how have you been? We met the Clan head. He was so proud of us and especially of you. He told us when we all come back to visit a town wide celebration will be held." Pace said.

"That sounds great! You guys ready to leave to go Griffin capturing?" Leon asked. Eos however frowned hearing what Leon said.

"Whats wrong Eos you were so excited, DoD you not want to go?"

Pace seeing Eos, intervened, "Eos met up with her Master on the way. He wants her to stay and train with him. He Eos asked for time but he gave her two days before she has to go back."

Leon understood. "Two days?" Leon thought about the locations of Beast he wanted them to capture and eliminated the ones to far away, ones that would take a day or more to reach.

"Let's not waste time, Clyde and Dwight asked to go As well. But looks like we are short on time. We'll have to explain it to them later." Leon summoned the Lightning Griffin.

"Both of you get on." Pace and Eos jumped on. Leon then had the Griffin shoot of.

Leon planned a root. He wasn't sure if the beasts were at the locations he had found them in his past life. He chose beasts with the highest probability and formed a path.

Leon controlled the Griffin having it turn. The ride was around thirty minutes long. They landed in a mountainous area.

"This is where I found the Griffin egg. Let's look around, it'll be hard to find a Griffin so look out for other beast as well."

Pace and Eos agreed. They summoned their beasts and rose into the air. Leon also had the Griffin fly. He went to the location where he the beast was found.

This beast was a Fire beast, as Pace and Eos had high fire affinity, Leon thought it would be better to start with it.

The beast was called yellow fire winged wolf. It was a five voidstars beast. Like its name it was wolf with yellow wings. It wasn't the strongest beast or particularly unique. It was a beast he had seen caught by someone else.

Leon flew lower and near the ground. The mountain was covered in a forest. So he looked around for that wolf. As he flew he heard a wolf's howl.

Leon had the Griffin rise and create lightning to attract Pace and Eos's attention. He then signaled to have them come to him.

With the Griffin he swooped down to the area where he heard the howl. It was a small wolf pack that surrounded three eggs.

"One of those eggs should be the yellow fire winged wolf."

Leon signaled Pace and Eos to hide. He then used Formless aura to hide the Griffin and him. He launched forward in an opening to the eggs. The wolves turned and howled. They tried to stop him. Leon picked and egg and had the Griffin rise up. The wolves flipped there wings and chased as well.

The Griffin was faster then the wolves as a Lightning Beast. Leon had it fly around while he headband egg. It took him a while and the wolves stopped chasing. He went back to where Pace and Eos were.
