Scarlet's Awakening

BANG! Swoosh! Ping! BANG! Swoosh! Ping!

The loud thunderous sound of the first two bullets made Talon and Aqua flinch on their feet. They were stunned, dumbfounded even, their eyes wide- looking at the incredulous weapon their queen was holding in her hand.

What is that thing?!

Their eyes glanced at the target and their mouths fell to the ground when they saw that the weapon actually pierced right through it, hitting the wall behind it as well. Such strong penetrating power!

Scarlet removed her finger on the trigger and brought the pistol to her.

"Hmm…" She examined it with a frown. She wanted to fire 5 rounds on her first try but stopped after firing two. Something's wrong. And Navy already guessed her thoughts based on the frown on her face.

"Do you want me to increase its fire power?" Navy asked.

Scarlet gave her a side long glance, "… Yes. Do that and change all of the targets as well." She said, pointing her chin towards the wooden targets. "I want you to change the material. Use the material used for making standard armors and shields for the soldiers of Gehenna. I want to see if I can pierce it."

"Very well, mistress. Adjusting everything as you command." Closing her eyes, her little body glowed a bluish light and all 3 targets transformed from wood, into the standard silver armor worn by the kingdom's soldiers.

Navy opened her eyes, her body glowing no more.

"Done?" Scarlet asked.

"Yes,"

With that Scarlet effortlessly aimed at the targets again, thanks to the targeting system she cast on her eyes making them turn gold in color.

Scarlet still has 12 rounds to practice with and she's going to make them count. "Bullet burst, double tap mode." She murmured, "Firing in 3... 2… 1…"

BANG BANG! Two bullets came raging out from a single pull of the trigger. Shwook Shwook! The bullets hit the silver targets on the c.h.e.s.t part and it pierced straight through it with ease.

Again. Scarlet pulled the trigger. BANG BANG! Two bullet's came out again. Shwook Shwook! It penetrated the armor like it's made of paper.

Feeling satisfied with the results, Scarlet smile before turning the safety on. She scanned her eyes on the gun in her hand.

"… Interesting." She expected some malfunctions at first, but nothing happened when she was using it. That means she was able to make a replica of a handgun in this world. Not a perfect replica, however it works the same way a gun works in her former world so the results were obviously beyond her expectations already…

This is great! Now she can try using the handgun on the other two targets to see if there are any changes with its performance.

Scarlet continued practicing and experimenting with her gun, totally oblivious to that shock in Talon and Aqua's eyes. They couldn't believe it. Watching how their queen used that mysterious weapon with such confidence and ease, this is the first time they ever witnessed something so absurd!

This is ridiculous! It functions just like a bow but has more destructive piercing power, accuracy, range and it also looks different than the average bows here. Just by watching on the side lines while Scarlet used the weapon on the other two targets… 'The weapon looks so easy to use and to master since it doesn't require years of muscle training to draw an arrow on a bow', Talon thought.

Scarlet tilted her head to the side, not focusing on the front sight of the gun anymore.

"I hit it exactly where I want to hit it." She mumbled, her golden eyes zeroing unto the two targets seeing the holes she put on the silver armors from afar. "Let's see if my shooting accuracy is still the same with moving targets."

"Creating moving targets…" Navy grinned, immediately doing her job without being told what to do.

Minutes later…

After practicing with the moving targets, Scarlet discovered that her accuracy did not drop even a little bit during practice. She hit the targets every time she aimed them. She shot all of them down until nothing was left for her to shot anymore.

Scarlet looked at her gun, seeing the slide pulled back, she mumbled, "Looks like I run out of bullets…"

"Should I run a simulation for you, mistress?"

"No, this is enough." Scarlet said, glancing towards Talon and Aqua's direction. "Shall we start?"

No reaction from the two.

"Talon?"

Scarlet's questioning voice woke him up from his revere like a smack behind his head.

"Y-Yes, my queen."

Scarlet watched Talon's expression as he walked towards her. "Are you sick?" she asked.

Talon shook his head and stopped 30 meters away from her. "I'm fine, my queen. Please tell me when you're ready."

Scarlet frowned, still unconvinced. "However, you look pale… You sure you're in condition for this?"

"… Yes." He nodded, taking out the twin daggers strapped behind his back, his eyes shining with determination. "Please hit this servant with all you have."

After looking at his unwavering resolution before her, Scarlet sighed, finally giving in to his demands.

Since he said he was fine then she will trust him...

"Aqua, will you do the honors of becoming our umpire?" She asked after making short preparations before starting the session.

"With p.l.e.a.s.u.r.e…"

"Good…" Scarlet raised her left hand and another pistol appeared on top of it.

"Copying weapon complete…" Navy announce happily.

Scarlet grabbed the copy of the pistol, intending to spar with Talon using them both against him. She already have her basic skill maxed out so sparring face to face with Talon is no problem. She also made sure she can use the former Scarlet's sword fighting technique even before she decided to do this sparring session with Talon.

Talon is very familiar with how the former Scarlet fights and so does Aqua. If Scarlet doesn't want to be exposed as an impostor, she had to use some of Scarlet's fighting techniques when she fights later on. With that, they wouldn't doubt her identity. Even after she showed them a small part of her new ability, creating a new weapon in front of them that doesn't exist in this world.

"Both parties, are you ready?" Aqua started, looking back and forth towards Scarlet and Talon with a serious expression if they were ready to fight, or not.

"Ready!" Talon shouted, his knuckles turning white as he gripped the handle of his daggers, feeling on edge while Scarlet just stood there in a calm, unperturbed manner, not even bothering to do a stance unlike him.

"Ready…" her cool voice said.

Aqua nodded, "Well then… you may fight!"

When Aqua brought down her hand, Talon bolted straight towards Scarlet without a second thought. He saw how the weapon on Scarlet's hands work. If he moves fast enough, he predicts she wouldn't be able to hit him. He counted the number of ammunition that blasted thing could spew and it only can fire 1 to 2 bullets at a time.

After seeing how powerful the queen's new weapon has, he forgot his initial plan of becoming a punching bag and decided to take this sparring session seriously. His blood was already boiling with excitement, every nerve on his body was itching for a fight. At that moment, he decided he wanted to win. And to do that, he has to close their distance as fast as possible using his speed.

Already guessed his plan of action, Scarlet didn't back away and stood her ground, making Talon feel anxious as he approached. Then he heard her murmur something...

"Full auto mode..." she said, before pulling the trigger and all hell broke loose.
