The Adventurer System

Chapter 11 - PK

Yumiro witnessed the actual duel between two adventurers within the Adventure Capital. This appears to be the primary reason Yumiro was eager to learn a new skill that would exceed his expectations.

Following the fierce duel, several of those adventurers began to leave the area, encouraged to strengthen themselves as they saw.

"It it seems that this is the right time to cultivate, and I will not fail this time." He murmured again, but the middle-aged man next to him heard him.

"Wait a minute, Kid! Do you want some advice since it appears you're going to leave?" "Had said the middle-aged man."

"What exactly is it?" Yumiro responded coldly.

"Because I'm in a good mood right now, I'll give you some useful information, and it's avoided for stepping outside of the same zone alone." He was warned by the middle-aged man.

"What if you're not in the safe zone? Why?" Yumiro asked with his voice lifeless.

The middle-aged man stroked his orange beard slowly. "Hmm... Outside of the safe zone, the adventurer's PK increases, according to them. Furthermore, the adventurer had malicious intentions toward a new adventurer like you."

Yumiro narrowed his gaze to the man's face, literally perplexed by the words spitting out of the middle-aged man's mouth. "Come again? PK? Sorry, but there are some terms in this world that I still don't understand."

"Yes, I see... The PK term in VR is also known for killing the adventurer outside of the safe zone because this is the only place where an adventurer's health points can be depleted. However, in your case, you must be cautious and always observe your surroundings when looking for monsters, because they will arrive to kill you, but the true motive behind this is to reduce the number of adventurers who can climb Heaven's Dream."

"Is that correct... But before I go, I have one more question." Yumiro stated as he gazed up at the sky.

"What exactly is it?" The middle-aged man spoke up.

"I'm curious what would happen if I accidentally killed the adventurer who was attempting to kill me?" Yumiro inquired, slightly passing to the middle-aged man.

"The color of your screen name will change to orange depending on how many adventurers you kill. But don't worry, if the systems determined you were not responsible for the PK incident, your screen name will most likely return to its original color."

White color: 0 Pk, Orange color: 1 Pk, Violet color: 3 or more Pk, and the Red color: 100 or more.

"The color of the screen name has changed, huh?" He said to himself. "I appreciate all of the free information, sir." Yumiro walked down a straight path surrounded by various types of colorful flowers.

"Okay, good luck, young man! If you're still bothered, please feel free to ask me some questions."

"Sure, I'll..."

Yumiro looked around on the straight path, looking for a suitable place where he could gain some experience. Furthermore, it appeared that this location was not ideal.

"Tch! I'm still unfamiliar with this location, and Amiya isn't available to play this game with me. What should I do now?" Yumiro sighed as he did not even know where he was, only the word Adventure Capital. To be more specific, his knowledge was insufficient to get by.

Even though some adventurers appeared beside the water sculptures earlier, their presence quickly vanished as they left to obtain level.

Yumiro eventually realized he needed to take a seat on the bench in front of the metal fences. Which was following it on a different path.

He leaned his back on the wooden bench and gazed up at the clear blue skies above him, while the green trees around him swayed gently in the same direction. He took a deep breath to enjoy the relaxing sensation provided by the warm environment.

"Jeez... For the time being, I should stay here because logging out will simply return me to my boring life." He sighed again, then remembered the image of himself that had suffocated in front of his window for several years. While they were watching, the other teenagers were free to do whatever they wanted.

...

After a few seconds, he knitted his brow as he heard a familiar dinging tone and the skies began to spread a notification for everyone.

Ding!

[The Blue Leaf Guild cleared the mid-level dungeon in only 7 days!]

[Highest raider: Alison lvl] .70]

[Congratulations!]

A brief video clip appeared in the sky, demonstrating how the top raider (Alison) defeated the lich inside the mid-level dungeon. Yumiro couldn't help but admire her fighting prowess as a result.

"Wow... How did she have such a powerful skill? Is this even possible in this world?" Yumiro whiskey eyes couldn't believe what had just occurred. As soon as the short video clips ended, he stood up straight and pumped his chest with excitement.

"Give me that kind of ability!" Yumiro dashed to the location without much thought, looking more like he was on his way to the vast city with various high structures and shops.

"No, I don't have any business there. Furthermore, I don't want to be surrounded; I'm not at ease with it." Yumiro chose to put his feet down and return to the bench where he felt safe.

Yumiro unexpectedly opened the function screen and clicked some icons in the right top corner.

"No, not this one; it's my character status." Yumiro scrolled and scrolled until he saw the scroll icon in the upper left corner. "Is this my talent?" Yumiro tapped the scroll icon gently and without hesitation.

Swoosh!

An elevated screen appeared in front of his eyes, with its description resembling a hologram map in the VR world. "Tch, I thought that was my talent." In his mind, he could easily walk through each section of this place by using the map.

"This world is huge!"

Yumiro appears to be in for a long adventure in the VR World because the world was built without edges.

On the map, there was a yellow dot that indicated his exact location. It was just a small scale where he stood, and in front of it was a 500-meter bridge that passed into the Main Adventure Capital, where the two strongest guilds led the place.

"I'll wait for Amiya before proceeding to the main capital."

The red outline encircled the entire Adventure Capital on the map. "It appears that if I step outside on this line, I'm no longer inside the safe zone, and the PK will be available." Yumiro barely snatched the elevated screen in order to zoom out the map and find a possible area to level up.

There was a forest called Tyrant forest within 5 kilometers, and since it was the closest place, Yumiro didn't hesitate to go there.

He closed all of the tabs in front of him before swiping his left hand to minimize the map in the top left corner.

"I have three hours before I have to return to the real world." Yumiro noticed the digital clock in the bottom left corner as he prepared to take his maintenance medication.

The time in both the virtual and real worlds was the same. Enough reason for the creators to include the real-world time next to the character functions, because previously, some players missed important meetings because they mistook the game for a different time zone.

Yumiro could still see the middle-aged man standing straight next to the thick pillar after that. He showed up to be waiting for someone to arrive.

"Oh, you wuss! You're still here, huh? Where are you going?" The middle-aged man inquired once more of the young man, who pretended he hadn't heard anything.

"Hey, young man!"

Yumiro slowly spun around as the middle-aged man persisted in asking where he was going.

"What exactly is it?" He said this with a cold expression on his face, as he disliked interacting with other adventurers.

"I asked, "Where do you intend to go?" I'll give you some pointers." He averted his gaze from Yumiro.

"I intend to visit the Tyrant Forest," He said.

The middle-aged man approached him and shrugged his shoulder. "Excellent decision! The monsters there are appropriate for your level of strength. However, avoid going inside the dungeon entrance. If you really want to, you could try to find some party members."

"As you mentioned, thank you for the advice." Yumiro spun around and faced his destination. "Dungeon huh," he muttered to himself before quickening his pace.

"Okay, young man! Best wishes!" The middle-aged man yelled at him while waving his hands around.

He rubbed his silky hair as he felt a bit annoyed in the gruff voice of the bulk man. "Why his appearance? Isn't suitable to his attitude?"

....

The breeze touched his skin as he traveled, and he gazed around to take in the beautiful scenery that was good for his eyesight.

Yumiro noticed after an hour that his fatigue had not decreased by at least one digit. However, when he was inside the Rank-F forest, his fatigue decreased quickly, even though he only made a few movements.

"Hmmm, I'll ask Amiya when she gets home." Yumiro exited the safe zone and stood up in the green vast forest filled with various types of monsters that he thought were appropriate for his strength.

"I have two hours before I log out, so if I start now, I'll have plenty of time!" Yumiro dashed inside the forest after spitting those words, buoyed by his Zexel's confidence.

"On which side should I begin?" Yumiro came to a halt when he heard a monster howl. "That's the answer," he said as he dashed to the left.

Yumiro looked around and noticed a new creature with dark fur, aggressive red eyes, sharp claws, and fangs that could break his bones.

[Dire Wolves>: the monsters specialize in sneak attacks and can deal +40 damage in addition to the 2% bleeding effect.]

As the young man walked closer to them, the wolves hardly grasped the surface with their wild howls. Their aggressive stares, however, did not cause Yumiro to flinch.

"What exactly are you waiting for? Come on, let's go!" He yelled at the one monster, who was making a mocking gesture.
