The Adventurer System

The monster sauntered closer to the torch that plastered on the brick wall. His eyelids widened after Yumiro seeing its appearance that had an antagonistic aura.

"What the?!" He rapidly took the destroyed monster's core inside his inventory knowing it could take away the poison inflicted on his body.

He swallowed the red crystal while his red eyes were closed. It easily melted inside his mouth and smoothly passed through down his stomach.

He kneeled on the brick surface, as there was a strong light emitted all over his body. Its way was more stronger than the other core he drew that made him astonished.

2 minutes had passed before the light passed off. It seemed it took time like an ordinary core he used before.

"Sh*t I thought this is the green frog core!" Yumiro exclaimed, his voice was echoed in the place.

But his eagerness was easily faded away, after seeing the notification came from the function screen.

His movements were back in their original states, however, it was slower than before as there was black armor that wore his body. It seemed that heavy would affect his agility, but prone to the poison since it couldn't penetrate.

Yumiro looked at his body, seeing he was wearing shimmering armor. "W-Wow!" The only thing he could say as this was the first time he wore that kind of item. Besides, only his head was didn't cover by the black armor.

"This is truly amazing!"

Since he was dumbfounded for a couple of minutes, the treant monster released again his vines. Nevertheless, it just swept away then bounced back to the bricks wall.

"Ha-ha! It's really working out." Yumiro stared in the direction where was the vines hit, but he just saw no scratches and violet liquid dripped.

Yet, it couldn't take away in his mind that there were adventurers near to him. Also, he already heard their footsteps as the monsters on each floor died which means their expedition inside the dungeon castle was getting faster than the usual expedition.

"Inventory!" Yumiro said with a weak tone and took out the knife that had a red blade. Although he couldn't activate the true potential of the Kariki knife, he still used it. Just to complete the requirement needed for the Hiller Knight skill.

He had grinned on his face as the skill was activated. Because of this was the skill of the swordsman it required, the adventurer must hold a sword or it became useless.

He immediately closed all the tabs that appeared. To focus all his attention on the monster was ready to attack.

Another monster attack occurred in the place, but Yumiro happily received the monster attack since his armor had +100 physical defense.

A new collision arises as the vines hardly landed on the wall and suddenly got wild. It seemed the monster was also using one of its skills.

This was the right way to call how the monster used its vines. Its uncontrollably moving inside the area, which inflicted to envelope by the thick smoke.

He tried to wield his knife, he felt it was easier than before. "I should take it seriously, this monster can transform its vines into hard ones. I can't let us reach that situation."

Yumiro fearlessly charged inside the thick smoke, he then slashes all the vines that blocked his path to directly went to the monster's precise location.

This was the time Yumiro felt the importance of the Kariki knife since even though it was huge vines it could slices it without any difficulties.

In one minute had passed, he bumped into the hard object that made him stop. Also, the smoke was faded away so he took a glance over his head.

It has a 15 ft of tall, brown rough body, and green glowing eyes. To be exact, it looked like a tree that has own will to move its body.

"Tch! I need to jump to reach the core." Yumiro clicked his tongue then tried to sever the monster's body if it could affect it.

Grrewrrr!

The monster groaned like an old man. "Uh, it's gross!" Then suddenly Yumiro stepped back in the meantime as the liters of blood spilled out of the monster's body.

His eyes were filled with blood, which made it red.

Sweep!

"This tree has a lot of blood, what happens in this world," Yumiro said and dashed again as he already wiped the blood that had a resin smell.

"I should try this one."

Within the 10 meters distance of him between the monster. His body was involuntarily dashed closer and he reached it in one second. When he was in the right distance his feet were suddenly stopped, and his knees were bent.

"What's going on? I didn't know these moves..."

Yumiro both hands were positioned under his left waist while in his left grasp was the Kariki knife seemed he immediately released it.

He leaped straight forward into the mid-air while there was a black light on the endpoint of the knife. Seemingly it will be a way to complete the [Rising Slash] skill.

The blade sucked inside the monster's body, and he heard the wet texture that seemed it was swimming from the blood.

"Ahhh!"

He hasn't controlled his body, but the knife was rapidly cutting the treant body into pieces. Its tough physique hadn't any problem.

Yumiro's head was narrowly bumped onto the ceiling while seeing the two pieces of monster was falling to the ground.

Galloons of blood were burst out of the monster's body along with the numerous vines.

Yumiro couldn't control his power, so he rapidly landed on the ground.

"This armor is heavy..." He said while he bathed from the monster's blood, but thanks for the high durability of the armor, he didn't take any damages.

"It's gross." The black armor was turned into bloody red as the monster's blood was made from resin, so it was probably plastered on it.

Stomp!

He was laid on the ground while looking at the vague ceiling. However, he quickly erased that moment as he heard the adventurers stomped and their armor colliding as they were walking towards him.

"It's bad! I should leave this place."

He tried to lift his body, but the blood resin on his back was tugged him. Moreover, the thing that made him hard was the heavy armor.

"Damn it! The core devourer skill will be useless if I cancel out the duration."

The sound of multiple footsteps was getting louder and louder as the adventurer coming closer.

To wouldn't catch up with those adventurers, Yumiro canceled the casting duration and the black armor abruptly vanished.

He felt his body was being lighter, so he placed his hands on the blood surface, forcefully pushed himself into a stood-up position.

He succeeded to regain his footing, so he then rapidly charged straight forward to the next corridor, where the path he could see the next monster.

Nevertheless, even though he escaped from the 3rd floor, still, there was an adventurer who saw him.

Her brown eyes glowed in the dark, way more looked like they were the eyes of a cat.

"Did you see him, Bruce? " She asked the man beside her that had a red bandana on his head with a logo.

He shook his head rapidly while glancing around, finding the adventurer who left the monster core inside its body.

"Where is it, Asaki?" He hurriedly said to the woman who had emerald green short hair.

Asaki pointed her index finger into the dark side of the place. "He already went to the next door, I feel it." She said with a honeyed tone.

"What?! Why you didn't tell me much earlier!" Bruce exclaimed.

"I just saw him, when we entered this room." She replied.

"Let's go, chase him he probably still in the corridor. If we slow down our expedition, we can't take any monsters here."

"No, he's not in the corridor. He already on the 4th floor. I hope the monster there can stop him for a couple of minutes." Asaki said while looking at the bloody surface.

"Let's go we still able to catch up with those adventurers.." Bruce yelled in his 4 party members beside him.
