The CEO's Dark Wife

The next morning, Hua Ruo Lan opened her eyes slowly. She couldn't find Lu Qian next to her. It looked as if someone had stolen her toy. When she remembered that today was her first day at Lu conglomerate, her face started beaming. She raced to the bathroom and quickly got dressed. Since Lu Jin was still asleep, she quickly kissed him and left.

At Lu conglomerate, only the best were selected into various departments. It was a dream come true. Interning or working at Lu conglomerate was like the epitome of a person's career. Hua Ruo Lan walked confidently into the building. It was her first day so she needed to make a good impression.

"Seriously..who does she think she is?...just because she's the wife of the CEO she's already showing off"

"Goodness...she really has no shame showing off like that"

"I honestly feel like slapping her". A group of people who were watching Hua Er Bao from afar were irritated. She was busy enjoying the attention that was given to her which made her proud and began showing off. Hua Ruo Lan was pleased to know that her cousin had already started doing what was expected of her. All Hua Ruo Lan needed to do was wait. A day will surely come when Hua Er Bao will suffer the consequences of her action until then, Hua Er Bao can enjoy all the attention.

Hua Ruo Lan made her way to the IT department. As soon as she stepped into the,all eyes were on her. Who had ever seen such a beauty before. She smiled as she greeted everyone.

"Good morning everyone" Mr Lin a 42 years old man and the current head of the IT department said boldly. All the interns up quickly turned to Mr Lin. After giving his short message he was about to leave when his eyes fell on Hua Ruo Lan. His eyes lit up at he looked at her carefully not missing a single part of her body. He walked slowly to her.

"What is your name?" He asked as his voice turned sweet. He had seen many girls in his life but he had never seen such a beautiful goddess.

"My name is Hua Ruo Lan" Hua Ruo Lan answered as she gave a sweet smile.

"Ruo Lan..what a beautiful name for a beautiful goddess" Mr Lin said as he went close to her but she cautiously took a step back.

"What a flirt...its just her first day and he has already started showing us his true colours"

"I can't believe I have such a person as my boss"

"Who allowed this kind of person to work here?"

"I'm sure he must have hidden this side of him when he was hired"

"That poor innocent girl...she looks so terrified"

"Wouldn't you be..look at him...he's so disgusting"

"Poor girl..sometimes beauty can be a blessing and a curse" The other interns couldn't help but pity Hua Ruo Lan.

"So tell me about yourself" Mr Lin said as he looked at her with a lot on intentions clearly visible in his eyes. Hua Ruo Lan smiled and started telling him about herself. Mr Lin was enjoying himself as he listened to her but his heart sank when she told him she was already married and had a son.

"Who is he?...tell me" Mr Lin asked. He wanted to know who she belonged to.

"Sorry sir I can't tell you that" Hua Ruo Lan answered.

"Why not?" He asked as he became more curious.

"that's something that I can't disclose" Hua Ruo Lan said. Mr Lin refused to give up. He just assumed that she was trying to wave him off otherwise why would she want to keep the identity of her husband a secret and she wasn't wearing her engagement and wedding ring. Hua Ruo Lan's 24 carat emerald engagement ring and 7 carat diamond wedding ring was enough to support a person's entire generation. They were too precious to her, she couldn't afford to loose it.

"OK that's fine" Mr Lin said Ashe walked towards the door.

"Oh...before I forget.. there's an internship dinner that will be held later today at the banquet hall... groom yourselves nicely because our CEO will be gracing us with his presence" Mr Lin said as left.

"I feel like ripping his heart out"

"He's so annoying... he doesn't even have any shame"

"I pity his wife and children if he has any". The interns said as they each expressed their opinion.

"Hey..are you OK?" a girl asked. Hua Ruo Lan nodded.

"My name is Wen Lan" the girl said.

"Hua Ruo Lan" Hua Ruo Lan said.

"If that disgusting old man bothers you again tell me I'll teach him a lesson" Wen Lan said.

"Not only you...I'll beat him so hard he won't forget it"

"Yes...he deserves it..harassing a girl on her first day...he should be locked up". The other interns said supporting Hua Ruo Lan.

Later in the evening, everyone headed to the banquet hall. There were a lot of people present there especially Hua Er Bao who sat down beside Lu Qian. Hua Ruo Lan was seated at the fourth table located at the far right of the hall. She sat beside Wen Lan and the other interns while Mr Lin sat close to Hua Ruo Lan. Since Hua Ruo Lan didn't tell Lu Qian she was interning here, she was a bit surprised when he quietly told one of the waiters to serve one of her favorite French dish. Coq au vin. She was a bit surprised when she saw the waiter placing the dish in front of her. Apart from her parents and Li Yan only she knew that this dish was one of her favorites. Her eyes roamed the hall until it fell on Lu Qian. He had been observing her since she entered the hall. He quickly diverted his gaze when he saw that Hua Ruo Lan was looking at him. She smiled and picked up the cutlery.

"Let me help you" Mr Lin said as he held her hands.

"Don't worry sir I can..." Hua Ruo Lan was interrupted by Mr Lin.

"Don't be shy" Mr Lin said still holding her hands. Meanwhile Lu Qian had already noticed Hua Ruo Lan's discomfort as Mr Lin held her hands. He clenched his fist tightly as a sharp glint flashed past his eyes as his murderous aura made everyone at his table freeze including Hua Er Bao. He signalled for his assistant who quickly rushed over.

"Tell Mr Lin to hand his resignation letter as soon as we're done here" Lu Qian said as he whispered into his assistant's ear.

"Yes sir" the assistant answered.
