68. Ming Qingyu’s Decision

Translator: Ning LL

As Uncle White’s robe flew in the cold wind, he sent a chill through others with the indifferent look on his face.

He ignored the people who were shouting in shock beside him and fixed his eyes straightly on the two persons who stood on the top of the building. When he glanced at Ming Qingyu, the look in his eyes turned even colder, which made the people close to him shudder.

Most of the cultivators were staring at Uncle White in astonishment while guessing who this old man was.

Ming Qingyu and Nangong Li obviously recognized Uncle White because the moment they saw the latter, the look on their faces changed right away. Then they both walked down the building.

“Welcome, Uncle White. What brings you here?” Nangong Li bowed to Uncle White slightly with a reverent look. Although he asked that question, he was almost sure that Uncle White must have come for that boy. Even so, Nangong Li still managed to keep his countenance.

“I’m here to draw lots for my young master. Mr. Nangong, you can spare the formalities.” Uncle White spoke in a cold and clear voice and his eyes with seemingly blurred vision actually showed a hint of sophistication from time to time. Now he took a look at the few staffers of the Green Nether Union down there.

Uncle White’s words confirmed Nangong Li’s assumption.

Thinking of what happened a few days ago, Nangong Li couldn’t help but shiver with fear, thinking, ‘Luckily the mistake those staffers have made isn’t that big, otherwise even I couldn’t defend them.”

“That’s fine. I’d like to know that young master’s name. Then I’ll send someone to have a check.”

Nangong Li didn’t feel awkward about Uncle White’s indifferent tone. It seemed that he had known well the old man’s character. Therefore Nangong Li still smiled politely and answered that.

“The last name of my young master is Feng, and his first name is Xi.”

Hearing those words, the staffer beside the fifth table on the left suddenly got dazed because he felt that he had seen that name before.

As he thought of that, he started to leaf through the application forms in his hands. At last, he found Feng Xi’s name on the last column of the last form. Under Feng Xi’s name was the introduction to him, which stated that this nineteen-year-old boy was in the fifth grade of the Heaven King realm. Seeing the introduction, the staffer was surprised to find that Feng Xi was actually an exceptional cultivator just like his leader, Ming Qingyu.

The staffer did have suspected whether the information was true, but now as he witnessed how respectful Nangong Li was toward the old man, he suddenly got nervous. Moreover, the people around him all had the same feeling as him with the looks in their eyes getting dazed. They even thought that they must have delusions right now because no one could believe the great president would show so much reverence for an old servant of that boy, not to mention how polite he sounded. They felt that they actually knew too little about the president of the Union.

A few days ago when lots of the people there witnessed that boy make a stir in the Green Nether Union, they had assumed that the boy’s identity might be special. However, it never occurred to them that Nangong Li would behave so gingerly right now because he was afraid that any words he said or anything he did would offend the old man, who claimed to be the boy’s servant.

While everyone else was still in doubts, Ming Qingyu whose face had been sullen all the time did something which confirmed those people’s assumption– The identity of the boy and this old man must be rather special!

“It’s an honor to meet you, Uncle White!” Ming Qingyu repressed his inner feelings and stepped forward while bowing to Uncle White.

Hearing a proud man like Ming Qingyu speaking to the old man in reverence, the others got even more curious about Uncle White’s identity.

However, Uncle White completely ignored Ming Qingyu as the latter was speaking and walked straightly to the staffer who stood in a trance beside the fifth table on the left, leaving Ming Qingyu in an awkward posture in front of everyone.

The large square fell into silence. All the people there remained strangely silent while lots of them glimpsed at Ming Qingyu secretly.

The looks on the faces of the people in front of Ming Qingyu slightly changed, which made the people behind him who couldn’t see Ming Qingyu’s face get more curious.

Seeing that, Nangong Li sighed and shook his head. Then he walked toward Uncle White.

Uncle White’s arrival made those people who had wanted to pick on Feng Xi so terrified that they didn’t even dare to move. After all, if they still didn’t know how noble Feng Xi’s identity was after seeing the attitudes of the president and the leader of the Green Nether Union, they would be truly hopeless. Meanwhile, the man with slanted eyes who had been in a direct conflict with Feng Xi already fell onto the ground with fear, with his face turning deadly pale.

After Uncle White had picked a slip of paper from the iron box randomly, he rode on the silver tiger and went back directly without reading the paper. Nangong Li had intended to keep Uncle White in the Green Nether Union for a while. However, Uncle White left resolutely and disappeared right away. So Nangong Li had no choice but to drop that idea. As he passed Ming Qingyu, he paused and said,

“Qingyu, you’ve seen this. There’s no need for me to say anything, I believe you are clever enough to understand the situation.”

Actually, Ming Qingyu understood everything and he just had a gleam of hope that it wouldn’t be real.

As he stared at the figure which had disappeared on the horizon, he clenched his fists secretly, feeling unwilling to accept the fact.

He had tried so hard for so long, but in the end, he lost to a young boy who was nobody. He had spared no efforts in order to pursue his dream, but that boy had got what he dreamed of so easily. Ming Qingyu couldn’t accept that!

For all this time, Ming Qingyu had followed the steps of King of the Netherworld, hoping to get close to the King someday. He knew that the chance was slim, but ever since he knew that there was a human being staying by the King’s side and that the King had deprived the nether people of their noble identity for that human being, he almost went mad and had to try his best to restrain his desire to kill that boy.

However, after witnessing how protective the indifferent Uncle White had been toward that boy, he became strangely calm.

Would he blame his fate?

Would he complain to others?

If he let himself be controlled by his anger, his efforts all these years would be in vain.

He was the most talented man in the Three Worlds. There was nothing he couldn’t do. Since the King had never really taken him seriously, he then decided to become strong enough to be able to stand in front of the King and make the King unable to ignore his existence.

That thought was overwhelming. Now that his emotion had reached the extreme point, he became rather calm instead.

This was Ming Qingyu’s feeling now. The only thing in his mind was becoming stronger while the Spiritual Energy in his body started to surge crazily as if the energy had been stimulated. In the meantime, the Spiritual Energy in the air around him was absorbed into his body like mad. After repeated compression, the Spiritual Energy became extremely dense in his veins.

Nangong Li sensed the change behind him and turned around right away. Then, with a surprised look crossing his face, he saw Ming Qingyu cultivating to the next grade all of a sudden due to the strong mood swings. However, deep inside Nangong Li couldn’t help but feel a bit worried, since he was perturbed to see Ming Qingyu being like this.

Nevertheless, Nangong Li still asked the people of the Green Nether Union to surround Ming Qingyu in order to protect the latter from being influenced by any external factor.

It took Ming Qingyu an hour to finish the whole cultivating process and the great noise he had made gradually died down. When he opened his eyes again, the look in his eyes was even colder and more determined than before. Since Ming Qingyu had made a breakthrough in his mental state, the cultivation process was also very smooth.

The people who witnessed what had happened all knew that this genius had created a miracle again.

“President Nangong, I decide to go to the God and Demon Kingdom!”

Ming Qingyu’s resolute voice echoed in the sky over the large square, lingering for a long long while!
