The Legendary Ruler

Henry and Eloise walked for almost four hours through the forest, making their way towards Grimewell Village.

The night was slowly approaching...

"Are we close?"- Eloise calmly asked, maintaining her tone of voice really low as he looked at Henry.

"Yes, we are almost there. Grimewell Village is about three hours on foot in that direction...if we maintain our current speed we can make it in one hour"- Henry raised his right finger and pointed towards the village's position.

"Anyway, let's rest. Tomorrow morning we will proceed"

Henry knew that even for a Fundamental Realm cultivator, the night in the Million Monster Forest was really dangerous. If they were unlucky to encounter a powerful beast, they would easily die.

Eloise nodded her head in acknowledgment and sat down on the dirty ground.

"Thank god she is not a spoiled missy"- Henry thought as he saw the lady sitting on the b.a.r.e ground.

Although she was from a powerful and rich family, Eloise knew of the hiding dangers in the wilderness. It was better to wait until the morning came to continue.

"Are you hungry?"- Henry politely asked, receiving a wordlessly negative response

"She is really a quiet person"- He thought as he sat near the girl.

He knew that when a cultivator achieved the Fundamental Realm, he could pass months without eating by relying on Qi to nurture their body. The question was just chivalry.

Henry waved his hand as fire appeared in front of them, illuminating the area around. Henry's control of Qi was really high, he could transform it into any kind of element to do simple chores.

He looked at the girl beside him and noted that she already closed her eyes and sat cross-legged, starting her cultivation. Henry shrugged his shoulders and also closed his eyes, entering a shallow meditation state. He couldn't let himself fall into deep meditation or a beast could launch a surprise attack on them.

The moon rapidly took the sun position as darkness descended unto the world, restarting the infinite cycle as the dangerous and powerful beasts came out to hunt and feast in their prey's blood.

However, to Henry and Eloise, the night passed peacefully, without any kind of mishap happening as the sun appeared again in the sky, touching his skin and gently waking him up 

"Where is she?"

Henry looked at Eloise's position, however, she was nowhere to be seen.

"Well well, We have a runaway cat"- Henry muttered with a smile plastered on his face.

Eloise left his side without him noticing. Although he was in meditation, it was still quite difficult to evade his perception which made Henry more and more interested in the girl.

"She left almost three hours ago...she probably already arrived at Grimewell Village"

"I shouldn't have told her the way to the village...whatever, she is not a threat for now"- Henry felt like facepalming himself for being so stupid. Due to his blabbering, the girl took the chance to get away from his watch

"She came to this region with a purpose in mind...as if she is looking for something. Anyway, if she tries to mess up with my plans, the only option is to eliminate her"

Henry was too decisive in his actions, even though the girl picked his interest, he wouldn't think twice before eliminating the girl. There was no need to think about future matters, let the destiny decide.

"I need to get back"

Henry had been away for a few days, the people in the palace should be extremely worried about him. He needed to get back before Godfrey sent a search team through the whole kingdom after him.

Eloise's eyes were tired as she looked at the small village in front of her. She departed before the sunrise, facing numerous dangers through the journey just to get away from that person.

Every time she saw his eyes she had goosebumps. That golden color seemed to come from hell and heaven at the same time as it seemed to gaze deep into her soul, trying to uncover every little mystery of hers.

It gave Eloise a desperate feeling as if a judge was watching her, judging every little one of her movies.

"I need to find my Ancestor legacy"- Eloise said, taking out a map from her storage ring.

The map showed the Gladio Continent in detail. 

In the corner of the map, where the word the Anvil Kingdom was written, there was a mark on it. Like a treasure map.

Eloise's eyes shined brightly. She was really near.
