Worlds Conquering Necromancer

Chapter 29 - Dungeon Core

"Ok guys. We will try to take him down slowly with attacks here and there. Don't rush and try to work in pairs!" Emily said, instructing her companions.

"Understood!", they said with a serious face.

*Woaaagh!

The cyclops howled as if understanding what they talked about. He stepped up, trying to crush Glukz and Snen. Luckily, they both managed to move away before this. 'I better check his stats.', Emily thought.

Robin shot one precision arrow that was meant to blind the monster, but when it was about to hit, it fell down as if stopped by an invisible wall. "Robin, he has a skill that protects his eye. Try to shoot him in his other weak points. Bat, you too!"

'So that's why...', he thought. ""Got it!"", said the both of them. Glukz and Urul went behind the enemy, piercing and slicing his Achilles pit. Kate used her daggers to climb on his back, trying to reach his neck. Snen was frantically evading his attacks, while Bat and Robin were trying to shoot him through his ears, nose, mouth or other orifices.

"Hmm.. What other weak spots does a monster have?", and then she remembered how Orgug died. 'Actually, why aren't people aiming for this kind of weaknesses nearly every living being has?' Seeing that they were doing just fine, she took flight and went behind him. She took aim at his anus, and prepared to shoot the arrow.

Meanwhile, the cyclops was in the middle of a fight. He was mad at the fact that he still haven't killed anyone, even though those insects were weaker and way smaller than him. Just at that moment, Kate managed to reach his neck from the back, and sliced towards his spinal cord. Feeling that much pain he never felt before, he started to rage and suddenly made a 180 grades turn, just to be hurt in another place.

*Bounce! Bounce!

"Whoops, my bad...", Emily muttered to herself. The arrow she sent wasn't a simple one, it was made of blood and further amplified thanks to her precision shot skill. It was that fast that the poor cyclops didn't manage to understand how he lost one, no two, of his most precious things as a man, his balls. He crushed to the ground, wailing and crying.

*Squeal!

"Wow, master can be ruthless at times, too.", said Snen to Kate. "Yeah, that's the first time I see her doing something like this.", the girls said, before continuing their strikes. Meanwhile, the boys couldn't muster any power to talk, nor to continue their assault on him. 'Never!... Never piss off master, or we could be the next ones...' they thought. Even Robin, that was all bones, was shocked to his core.

'What if I evolve into a monster with muscles and skin in the future, master could do the same to me...', he thought.

"Why are you in a daze for?! Kill him before he comes back to his senses!", Emily shouted at the boys. She understood that she had done something dishonorable, not that striking the rear was something normal. 'Honestly, who cares? That's a monster that had to die. If he'll feel a little more pain before dying, making it easier for us to kill him, nothing will really change.' she reassured herself.

She nocked another arrow, aiming for one of his temples. The arrow managed to embed itself into his temple, garnering another wail of pain. The cyclops didn't want to fight anymore. He understood that his life meaning disappeared, or was shot to be more precise. He just wanted to die in peace. His eye looked as if imploring, 'Kill me already!'.

"Nice, he has 120 more hp, and it's slowly getting smaller. Finish him with everything you've got!" she ordered. Snen was the first to strike. She used her inertia to throw her weapon towards his neck, managing to cut one of his arteries. Then Kate ran on top of his arms, going for the spinal cord again. Before the boys could use their skills, the enemy was already dead.

"Good job, Kate and Snen! While you, guys, showed your incompetence in this battle. Spacing out while in the middle of a fight is stupid, learn from your mistakes." Emily berated them, then observed that something in the room changed. One of the walls started to shine, and then a small chamber with the core appeared.

[Congratulations, master! You conquered the dungeon and obtained its core. Now, it's up to you what reward you'll get for it.]

'Long time no see, system. How do I take control over the core?' she asked expectantly in her mind, knowing what to choose already.

[It would be really hard for anybody else to take control over it, but master has me, the system. Just put your hand on it and try to input some of your mana.]

'Alright, let's do it.' She approached the core and inserted some mana into it. The core started to shine with a blue, blinding light.

[Quest completed.

Control or destroy the dungeon core.

Reward: Active Skill "Core Control"]

[Active Skill "Core Control": Gives you the possibility to control a dungeon through it's core to your will. At the first level you can choose the environment the dungeon will have. By doing so, the monsters which will appear at the next respawn will depend on the chosen environment. Note: It will not change the summoned monsters' level.]

'Ok, that's nice. What next do I get?'

[That's all.]

'... What do you mean that's all? I've passed through this much just for this!?'

[Master, have you chosen to destroy the core you would get more rewards, but because you decided to get control over it, that's a high enough reward for this quest. It would be impossible with master's current level and knowledge to control the core.]

'Ugh... At least I've got the cyclops' corpse. I'll change the environment first. Core control!'

[Choose environment:

>Forest <Now>

>Swamp

>Desert

>Jungle

>Ocean

>Dead Land

>Demon land]

'Oh my, that's a lot to choose from...' In the end, she chose the swamp. 'I want to try them all, especially the dead land, but it might get dangerous if there will be undead I can't control yet.' she thought.

"Ok, guys. We're going back." she said, storing the cyclops and his balls, then walking towards the exit.
