Worlds Conquering Necromancer

Chapter 39 - Abel Vagael

On the road to the Themo city, a carriage that had a majestic look compared to the myriad of other ones, was slowly approaching the entrance to the capital. It had the royal crest of a neighboring kingdom in it, more precisely it was the crest of the Vagael Kingdom, a blue rose on a red background. The blue rose represents the royal blood and its exquisiteness, as the Vagael Kingdom's royalty is known for graceful princesses and handsome princes. The red background, on the other hand, symbolizes the path paved by killing that they went through to reach such heights, as every member of their royalty had, more or less, exceptional fighting skills and war tactics.

The carriage was driven by two white monsters similar to horses. They were half a horses's size bigger and a lot more powerful and faster. Even the coachman was wearing expensive clothes of blue and golden colors. Inside the carriage were two people, standing opposite each other.

"I'm so pissed off because of this journey! Why has father sent us to this filthy kingdom in the first place?! Why should I have my engagement with this princess?! It could have been anyone of my brothers, why me!?" exclaimed the teen boy, wearing blue royal clothes. He had blue hair and eyes, a handsome face and a slim, tall figure. Nevertheless, he had power on par with the rank A adventurers. This boy was the prince of the Vagael Kingdom, Abel Vagael. He was the seventh prince, and also the youngest one between them.

"Stop it, Abel. You know very well that you have to do as father said. You're the youngest one between your brothers and you're not the most powerful nor the wisest between them. In exchange you have a pretty face, so why wouldn't father use you for a political marriage?" said Edeline, with a bit of mocking tone. She was the third princess of Vagael, and she also had four more sisters. Her eyes were of the same color as Abel's, but her hair was of a lighter blue than his. She was wearing a beautiful blue ball dress, which would leave anybody fascinated by her beauty.

"Edeline, choose your words carefully. Do you understand that if Themo had a prince, you would now be in my place, right? Why should I be married with the princess of such a weak and poor kingdom? They even have slavery here. Are you serious?!" he continued, indignantly.

"Dear brother, look at this from another perspective. You have the chance to become this kingdom's ruler after Fergus dies, and princess Madelina is a beauty, too." she tried to calm Abel, so he wouldn't make a ruckus somehow.

"What's the point in getting a devastated kingdom when I could get Vagael? There's too much of a difference between them..." he said, then just watched mindlessly through the window, neglecting what else Edeline had to say. As he was thinking to himself, a carriage went past them quickly. He thought he has seen something very interesting, so he opened the carriage's door and took a quick look forward.

"Abel, what are you doing?! Get back in and close the door!" his sister exclaimed anxiously.

"You won't believe what I have just seen, Edeline. A carriage was transporting several ogres and trolls in the same cage! They were so well behaved, without even an ounce of their wild, savage and animalistic natures. I have no idea who's their master, but he sure is an outstanding man if he managed to suppress and tame such monsters!" he said in awe, then sit back on his place.

"Oh, you're so sure it's a man? What if it's a woman who managed to do this? You know that women could be powerful, too. Take the queen, for example, she is even stronger than everyone of us, brothers and sisters." Though she said this, she herself didn't believe a woman could do something like that, as even the queen was weaker than the king. Nearly always men were stronger than women. Edeline felt really lucky that she was born in the Vagael's royal family, where even the girls were nurtured to become powerful entities.

"As if a girl could do something a man couldn't until now. You're so funny, sis~" he retorted mockingly, which only infuriated Edeline. Though, she still had no way to refute him. In this world, discrimination against women was still ongoing everywhere.

'Looks like this place isn't as bad as I thought...' Abel thought about this event and got expectant all of a sudden. While he was still looking forward to today's event, the voice of the coachman was heard.

"Your highness, we reached the capital. We're going to enter the town in a couple of minutes." said the coachman.

"Tom, stop at the entrance where other carriages have to pass the inspection. I want to check out something." Abel instructed the driver.

"Understood, your highness."

"Abel, what do you want to do again? Please don't make another ruckus like the last time!" Edeline berated Abel, as he was one of the most loved children in the royal family. He was the youngest, so the others were instinctively easygoing on him.

"You worry too much, sis. I just want to check who those monsters belong to. I promise I'll do it discreetly." Not long after, the coachman informed them that they arrived. Abel darted out towards the numerous carriages waiting for an inspection, leaving Edeline and Tom to talk with the soldiers there.

He soon found the carriage he was looking for. There was a group of adventurers clad in a kind of red armor and a small girl of around 12-13 years old wearing a pretty red dress. 'What a beauty...' he thought. He himself was 16 years old, so that age disparity between them was something normal. He approached the girl to start a conversation.

"Good evening, pretty lady. M-may I have the honor of knowing your name, little princess?" he said, a little taken aback by her beauty up close. 'She is way more charming and cute than I thought... Madelina's beauty is nothing compared to her!' he thought to himself, as new, never before felt feelings were boring life in his heart. In general, he had great success with the girls, even though he never fell in love yet.

"My name is Emily Laryel, nice to meet you." she said, slightly bowing forward. "How may I help you?"

This small change of phrases was enough to make him fall in love with her even more, as she had a voice full of finesse and elegance. 'She must be an angel sent to me by the havens...'
