Worlds Conquering Necromancer

Chapter 42 - Lucky Opportunity

"Princess Madelina, please mind your behavior! We're in public in the first place, and we're strangers, as well. Our engagement wasn't fully decided yet, and even if it was, it doesn't mean you can cling to me like that." said Abel angrily, slightly pushing her away from himself. He was really afraid that Emily would misunderstand what just happened, so he got nearer then in front of her, to protect in case anything happened.

"You! Rascal! What do you think you're doing?!" exclaimed King Fergus, glaring at Abel. 'How dares he to show such disrespect for me and my precious daughter, when he came here with the purpose of marrying her!'

"King Fergus, I just stated a fact. You should have taken more care of the princess' education and manner lessons." Abel retorted with a smirk.

"Prince Abel, I demand an explanation! Who is that uncultured wench beside you?" asked Madelina before Fergus could take action. She was afraid he would kill Abel. She was in love with him since he once visited Themo kingdom on a political mission.

Madelina was a beauty herself. She had long, silver hair, the color of the moon. Her skin was also of a white, pale color, not paler than Emily's though. She was wearing a jade-colored dress, decorated with some precious small gems here and there. She was a rare beauty, and even Abel recognized this, but he still din't want to be engaged to someone like that, as she was too clingy and had a pretty bad and crazy temper.

"You have no right to demand anything from me! We're not even engaged, not talking about marriage. I may talk, dance and spend time with anybody I want, as this doesn't concern you in any way." Abel said bluntly. This just served to further infuriate the king, as he was already at his limit.

'This little shit... Were he not a prince of Vagael, he would be already dead! And this old f.u.c.ker Reinald! Why did he send me his son if he didn't plan to accept the proposal in the first place... Wait, isn't he too overprotective of the lass behind him? Don't tell me he... I guess this should work, Ha haha!'

While Abel and Madelina quarreled, Fergus held a monologue in his head. After seeing that they continued that way, he used his power to instantly get behind Abel, taking Emily's hand then moving back to the place he was before. It was true that Abel had power on par with an A rank adventurer, but Fergus was even stronger than him.

"Look what we've got here. You better choose your words carefully, lad. You never know what might happen to her because of your actions." King Fergus said mockingly.

"Fergus Themo! Don't you dare touch even a hair of hers! Emily has nothing to do with this!" he said, while speeding towards Emily, wanting to save her. Before he could do anything, Fergus moved Emily behind himself, then kicked Abel in the stomach, making him fly a couple meters with blood spurting out of his mouth.

In reality, it was a fatal mistake to show your back to the enemy, even more, it was advisable not to turn your back towards allies either, as you never know when they could strike. He didn't consider Emily as a threat, as she was a small girl without any power in his vision. Well, he was going to regret this decision in the future...

Emily had to choose between taking advantage of this situation or wait until the arena event. 'Who knows what might happen until the event with so many uncontrollable factors? It's better to take advantage of this opportunity and finish him once and for all.'

She jumped on Fergus' back and clung to him with her arms and legs, then inserted her sharp fangs into his neck and started to suck his blood. Fergus, of course, didn't want to stay in place and wait for death. He moved back at full speed, wanting to smash her into the wall. But, unfortunately for him, even after the impact Emily didn't stop to extract his blood. Fergus was getting whiter by the second, power leaving his body.

"Dad!" His daughter cried out in shock. Her dad, a powerful king of a kingdom, was losing to a girl in her teens. She couldn't believe something like this was real. Seeing as her opponent was weakened, Emily took out of her inventory a dagger and cut his neck, blood spurting like a small fountain. Understanding that the guards should come at any moment after all that noise, she sent an undead pigeon to the adventurer party, then used half her mana to make a lesser vampire from the king's corpse. She approached Madelina while Fergus' wounds were slowly healing thanks to his transformation.

"No, please, don't touch me!" she cried out, afraid. She even pissed her pants, as afraid as she was. Emily stabbed the same dagger he killed the king with into her heart, killing her too. As she didn't want to resurrect Madelina as a weak undead, but she also had to save mana for now, she put her corpse in the inventory for later. She used blood magic to gather all the blood on the floor and walls of the room, as to not arise any suspicions from the coming guards, and instructed Fergus to tell the climbing guards that everything was alright.

"How are you, Abel?" she approached the lying Abel, extending her hand forward, then used the "Minor Heal" spell she learned from her subordinates to help him heal faster. The previous kick was strong enough to kill a simple human, but Abel survived thanks to his strength. He took her hand and stood up, leaning on her shoulder.

"Thank you for your help, Emily... Could you tell me who you really are?" He was really thankful for her help, but he wanted to know her secrets. Such power wasn't something a girl her age could possess.

"Well, I guess from now on I'm the new Queen Emily of Themo kingdom. Though, the kingdom's name would have to be changed." she said with a big smile on her face. She needed a bit more time to finally become a queen and complete the quest she got back then.

While Emily took care of Abel, Fergus ordered the guards to go back. After it was known that everything is all right, the ball continued. Only Edeline wanted to enter, but was stopped by the guards.

"Looks like your sister is worried about you..." she said then made a hand signal to the king to give her permission to enter. When she came in, she looked around trying to find her brother. When she spotted Abel covered in wounds, she got angry and worried at the same time. Angry because Abel did something stupid again and worried that the engagement might be canceled.
